Si Youqin’s explanation left the survivors and captives on the supply ship astonished.
Even Evolvers like James were hearing about this classification system for the first time.
"The labs at Xi’an Base researched this for so long, but I don’t think they ever came up with such a clear classification, did they?" Des asked uncertainly.
James wasn’t so sure either. "It’s hard to say. The information in the labs was a Level 1 secret. We never had a chance to access it."
Des nodded, then said with a smile, "I think this classification is incredibly simple and clear. It’s just like the warrior-mage-assassin archetypes in games—super easy to understand!"
"Exactly. For us and the Aircraft Carrier Base to have established this classification system, there must be a huge number of people who’ve become Evolvers!" James analyzed.
"That means the success rate of our base’s Evolution Potion must be really high. Maybe it really is one hundred percent!" Des exclaimed in amazement.
Although the few people who took the Evolution Potion yesterday had all become Evolvers, you couldn’t really determine the probability from just a handful of results.
"I’m sure it’s one hundred percent!" James seemed to have absolute confidence in Peach Blossom Base.
Des looked at him in surprise.
James smiled and asked in return, "Haven’t you noticed how precise the Chief and the others are when they speak?"
Des paused, frowning in thought for a moment before nodding. "They are precise. And they have a habit of understating things, not exaggerating!"
"So, if they say the success rate is one hundred percent, then it must be true!" James smiled slightly and continued, "We’ve really thrown our lot in with an incredible base!"
Hearing their conversation, the other captives couldn’t help but ask, "Then... will we have a chance to use the Evolution Potion?"
James glanced at them and replied, "I personally think you’ll have a chance, but you’ll have to earn it with your own good performance!"
"Yeah, we may be captives now, but we’re probably the luckiest captives in the world!" Des chimed in. "After all this time, you should all have a good idea of what kind of person the Chief is. As long as we perform well, we might be able to shed our captive status in the future and truly become members of Peach Blossom Base. Then we’ll have a chance to get the Evolution Potion!"
Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Alright, everyone get back to work!" James waved his hand.
After the crowd had left, Des sighed with renewed emotion. "No wonder we don’t get any special treatment. It turns out Evolvers really aren’t that big of a deal at Peach Blossom Base!"
James nodded in deep agreement, then shook his head. "You can’t quite put it that way. While regular Evolvers are common at our base, Intelligence-Type Evolvers are probably still rare!"
Des was taken aback for a second, then replied, "You know, I think you’re right. Looks like we have to keep working hard and shed this captive status as soon as possible. Maybe then we’ll get some special treatment!"
James stood up and started walking out.
"I’m going to go supervise their work. You get some rest."
"Alright!" Des replied, heading for his bunk.
Tu Chong and the others who had just become Evolvers were incredibly excited.
Although most of them hadn’t become Intelligence-Type Evolvers, they could still feel the tremendous leap in their physical constitution.
They had been extremely nervous before taking the Evolution Potion. Even though the base claimed a one hundred percent success rate, it was all just hearsay. They hadn’t seen anyone else take it and were worried it was just propaganda.
Now, feeling the surging power within their bodies, their worries were completely dispelled.
"I never thought I’d see the day I’d become an Evolver!"
"Yeah, when we were attacked by Xi’an Base, I thought I was a goner. I can’t believe I not only survived but also joined Peach Blossom Base. Thinking back, I’m so incredibly lucky!"
"Enough said. From now on, I’m just going to work hard. That’s the only way to repay the kindness of the Chief and the base!"
"Exactly! Now that we’re Evolvers, we’re much stronger. It’ll be easier to carry all that fruit!"
In an instant, a bustling, energetic atmosphere filled Peach Blossom Base, and everyone’s work efficiency soared.
During dinner that evening, Xin Wan said excitedly, "It looks like our propaganda is working! Everyone’s enthusiasm for work is through the roof. This afternoon, they did a whole day’s worth of work!"
Ren Yuanyang nodded with a smile. "It seems they all want that Evolution Potion."
"We still need to control the distribution a bit. If too many Evolvers pop up at once, I’m afraid we won’t be able to manage them," Hua Lingfang cautioned.
"Of course. Our compatriots from the supply ship just arrived and haven’t made any significant contributions, so naturally, they won’t be rewarded with an Evolution Potion. As for James and the other captives, that goes without saying. They’re still captives and have no right to receive one," Ren Yuanyang replied.
Lu Jiamei nodded in agreement. "Exactly. Those captives will have to perform exceptionally well to even have a chance at becoming official members of the base."
"How large has the Banyan Forest expanded to now?" Ren Yuanyang asked casually while eating a bowl of pork chop noodles.
"It’s expanded outward another two hundred meters recently. The Banyan Forest’s radius is now about six hundred meters!" Lu Jiamei replied immediately, then added with some concern, "As the Banyan Forest gets bigger, the pressure on our patrol teams is also increasing. Should we expand the size of the patrols?"
Ren Yuanyang thought for a moment, then shook his head slightly. "Not for now. We still have plenty of eyes and ears out there."
