After preparing the decoction, Hua Lingfang poured it into the prepared metal containers.
These metal containers were, of course, made by Jin Ziyu.
"Leader, the decoctions are ready!" Hua Lingfang approached Ren Yuanyang and said respectfully.
Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. "I’ll contact the Aircraft Carrier Base right away. Go get Haonan."
"Yes!" Hua Lingfang replied. He hesitated for a moment, then spoke again. "Leader, could we ask for some more of the semi-finished Evolution Potions from the Aircraft Carrier Base this time? If their experiments succeed, we might be able to formulate some for our own use."
Ren Yuanyang paused, slightly taken aback, then nodded. "You’re right. We do need more. I’ll bring it up with the Aircraft Carrier Base."
"Alright, I’ll go get Haonan now!" Hua Lingfang said, turning to leave.
Ren Yuanyang immediately contacted Wang Jun. "We’ve prepared the potions on our end. Haonan will contact you shortly with the trade location."
"Okay, my team is ready. We can depart at any time!" Wang Jun replied at once.
"Oh, and one more thing," Ren Yuanyang added. "Prepare another hundred semi-finished Evolution Potions for us. Our experiments are still ongoing."
Wang Jun was momentarily surprised, but then replied, "No problem. Our team will bring them directly."
"Good. Just wait for word from Haonan," Ren Yuanyang said, ending the chat.
Qin Haonan arrived with Hua Lingfang.
"Leader, what are your orders?" Qin Haonan asked curiously.
"Yes. Take these potions and go trade with the Aircraft Carrier Base. They’ll give you one hundred semi-finished Evolution Potions." Ren Yuanyang pointed to the decoctions Hua Lingfang had prepared off to the side. "The procedure is the same as always. Pick a location, notify the Aircraft Carrier Base, and make sure you get there a few minutes before they do."
"Understood, Leader!" Qin Haonan nodded, then lifted the three boxes of the decoction and boarded the military speedboat.
Qin Haonan was an old hand at trading with the Aircraft Carrier Base. He packed some food and fruit, then set off immediately.
After leaving the Seventh-level Wind Sea Region, Qin Haonan traveled for an hour before sending a message to Wang Jun: "Your team can depart now. Here is the trade location."
Qin Haonan sent a set of coordinates.
Wang Jun had been waiting for Qin Haonan’s message. Upon receiving it, he immediately replied, "Understood. We’re departing now!"
Roughly seven hours later, Qin Haonan reached the trade location. He scanned the area but saw no other survivors.
He hadn’t encountered any other survivors on the way, either. The attacks from Evolutionary Fish and other mutated fish had once again culled the survivor population.
Before he even had a chance to lament the dwindling number of survivors, the speedboat from the Aircraft Carrier Base arrived.
This wasn’t the first time for anyone involved, and they were all familiar with the process.
Qin Haonan didn’t even need to contact Wang Jun; the two parties completed the exchange without a hitch.
Qin Haonan received the hundred semi-finished Evolution Potions, and the other party left with the three boxes of licorice decoction.
After the trade was complete, Qin Haonan reported back to Ren Yuanyang.
"Return as soon as possible," Ren Yuanyang replied.
"Okay! I’ll just make a quick stop in the Second-level Wind Sea Region on the way back to see if I can find anything," Qin Haonan replied.
"Alright. Stay safe," Ren Yuanyang reminded him.
"You got it!" Qin Haonan replied. He also sent a message to Wang Jun to inform him that the transaction was complete.
"Understood. Thanks for your trouble," Wang Jun replied, then issued an order to his team: "Escort those potions back to the base with haste and ensure their safety!"
"Yes, sir! We’ll get it done!" the trade team’s leader replied grimly.
In just six hours, the team from the Aircraft Carrier Base was back at their own base.
The three captains—Wang Jun, Long Zhan, and Ji Yizhi—were all present, waiting on a boat at the base entrance. When they saw the trade speedboat return, they immediately went to meet it, boarding it to head into the base together.
Looking at the three metal boxes with their distinct markings, Wang Jun, ever cautious, sent another message to Ren Yuanyang: "Are there any special requirements for preparing these potions? For instance, does it have to be done in a sterile environment? Can it be exposed to the air?"
Seeing the question, Ren Yuanyang was momentarily stunned, then replied with a laugh: "No special requirements. It’s better if you can do it in a sterile environment, but it’s not mandatory if you can’t."
Reading Ren Yuanyang’s reply, Wang Jun’s mouth twitched. "He’s being this casual?"
Long Zhan and Ji Yizhi saw the reply as well.
"If I didn’t know that Peach Blossom Base has a track record of performing miracles, I’d be starting to think these potions are fake," Ji Yizhi said with a sense of helplessness.
"Let’s not," Ji Yizhi said, shaking his head firmly. "Since he said it’s better to work in a sterile environment, we should wait until we’re in the lab."
As they spoke, the speedboat neared the Jianfu Aircraft Carrier. The group disembarked with the potions and made their way to the laboratory.
Inside the lab, the research staff were engrossed in studying data and drafting experimental protocols.
The arrival of the three captains together startled everyone in the lab.
"Captain, what brings you here?" Zhao Jun, the head of R&D for the Evolution Potion, immediately came forward to greet them, nodding to Long Zhan and Ji Yizhi as well.
Wang Jun gave a slight nod and said, "Everyone, please stop what you’re doing for a moment."
