All the survivors were stunned by the message that suddenly popped up.
Wang Jun immediately started a video call with Ren Yuanyang and the others.
Long Zhan was the first to ask, "What does ’five months left’ mean?"
Wang Jun shook his head. "I don’t know. It’s a sentence with no context whatsoever!"
Ji Yizhi analyzed gravely, "Taken literally, this message means a major upheaval will happen in five months!"
"A major upheaval? Isn’t this endless downpour already a major upheaval? Could there be something even worse than this?" Long Zhan asked with a frown.
Ji Yizhi shrugged. "I don’t know. That’s just a literal interpretation. Survival is probably going to get harder and harder!"
"Master, what are your thoughts?" Wang Jun asked.
Ren Yuanyang mulled it over for a moment before replying, "I agree with Captain Ji. A greater disaster is likely waiting for us in five months! Otherwise, they wouldn’t have reminded us to work hard on improving ourselves!"
"No way! What disaster could be worse than a global flood?" Qin Haonan couldn’t help but interject. "Couldn’t this just be a prank by the Aliens?"
"Yeah, this app just suddenly appeared on everyone’s phones, and it’s so advanced. It must be a product of an Alien civilization. Maybe they’re just trying to scare us!" Long Zhan agreed.
"That’s possible, but what if it isn’t?" Ji Yizhi continued. "We have no choice but to take it seriously and prepare."
Everyone nodded.
"Why would they give us this warning at this specific time? And are they telling us to improve our technology or our Cultivation Civilization?" Ren Yuanyang voiced his doubts, leading the group into a deeper discussion.
Everyone was taken aback. They hadn’t really considered that question.
After a long moment, Ji Yizhi finally spoke up. "Nearly five months have already passed. They’re saying there are five months left. Could this be the midpoint of the current disaster, and that’s why they’re warning us now?"
Qin Haonan was still full of doubt. "Then why didn’t they warn us when the disaster began?"
"If they really wanted to warn us about the disaster, they should have done it from the very beginning!" Lu Jiamei added.
"Or maybe they didn’t have a medium to communicate with us at first? Was it inconvenient to notify us?" Long Zhan speculated.
Ji Yizhi shook his head. "Given the technological level of that unknown app on our phones, if they wanted to notify us, they could have just hacked directly into our networks. It’s unlikely they lacked a medium!"
Ren Yuanyang suddenly asked, "Captain Wang, when were the strange changes to the phones first discovered?"
Wang Jun thought for a moment, then immediately replied, "The changes were first discovered about three months after the rains began."
Ren Yuanyang contemplated for a long time before speaking. "No matter how you look at it, this unknown app is here to help us. If the Alien civilization just wanted to observe how we handle disasters, there would be no need to create such an app, let alone go out of their way to warn us. The reason they didn’t warn us before was probably due to some external constraints!"
Ji Yizhi nodded slightly. "That’s very likely. As for which aspect we should improve, there’s no need to agonize over it. If we have the chance, we should obviously tackle both, and we need to be strong in both areas!"
Ren Yuanyang nodded in agreement. "Yes. No one can afford to slack off now. We only have five months to prepare. We can’t fall behind in either Cultivation or technology. The Peach Blossom Base’s technological development is limited, so we’ll have to rely on the Aircraft Carrier Base and the Dawn Base!"
Hearing this, Wang Jun, Long Zhan, and Ji Yizhi were taken aback. They had always thought the Peach Blossom Base’s technological level was on par with the Aircraft Carrier Base.
"Master, what do you mean the Peach Blossom Base’s technological development is limited?" Wang Jun couldn’t help but ask.
"The truth is, the Peach Blossom Base’s technological level has always been very low. Our current progress is entirely dependent on the Superpowers of Evolvers!" Ren Yuanyang explained.
Wang Jun was even more astonished. "Just by relying on the Superpowers of Evolvers, you were able to develop a perfect Evolution Potion and create so many crops with short growth cycles and high yields?"
"The Evolution Potion is naturally thanks to Elder Hua. If he didn’t understand traditional Chinese medicine, we never would have been able to develop a perfect Evolution Potion!" Ren Yuanyang replied. "As for the enhanced crops, those are indeed entirely thanks to Superpowers."
Hua Lingfang quickly waved his hands dismissively. "Although the Evolution Potion was developed using the principles of traditional Chinese medicine, it still relies on those enhanced herbs. Ordinary herbs could never achieve this effect!"
"I see!" The three of them had a sudden realization.
"Elder Hua, you’re being too modest. If you didn’t understand traditional Chinese medicine, we wouldn’t have known what to do even with those herbs!" Long Zhan’s voice was filled with gratitude. "And the recent virus was only brought under control thanks to your medicinal soup!"
If not for the soup, the Aircraft Carrier Base and the Dawn Base would have likely lost many people, including the soldiers in the fleet!
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Hua Lingfang just smiled and shook his head, not explaining further. He knew his own abilities, and he also knew who had truly contributed the most.
"Alright, let’s not waste any more time on idle chat. Seize every moment you have for Cultivation. The Aircraft Carrier Base and the Dawn Base should focus on developing technology. If you need anything, just ask. I will give you my full support!" Ren Yuanyang said.
"Yes!" they all replied in unison.
Just then, Ji Yizhi spoke again. "Master, shouldn’t we decide on our priorities for technological development?"
The others were taken aback for a moment.
Ji Yizhi continued to explain, "We will likely face another major upheaval in five months. If we just conduct unrelated research, it will be almost useless for responding to the disaster."
