"Yes. I will assign people to it immediately!" William stood up and left the conference room.
Bao Mu glared at the others and roared, "What are you all doing sitting here? Is your work done? Now get out!"
Everyone in the conference room immediately stood up and hurried away.
At that moment, Wang Jun received many private messages, all asking about the price of the Evolution Potion.
Wang Jun was a little hesitant. He worried that if he set the price too high, other fleets might only have a few animals and be unable to trade. Yet he also feared that if he set it too low, it would feel like they were losing out.
Ultimately, he asked Ren Yuanyang for instructions, since the Evolution Potions were provided by Peach Blossom Base, after all.
Wang Jun explained his concerns, then asked, "Master, what do you think would be an appropriate price?"
Ren Yuanyang replied almost without hesitation. "For a pair of animals we don’t have, they can be traded for three Evolution Potions. Two different, individual animals can be traded for one. Just round off the numbers. And if we can get plants we don’t have, one species for one potion."
He had clearly already considered using Evolution Potions to trade for animals.
Hearing this price, Wang Jun was completely stunned. "Master, isn’t that price too cheap?"
In the previous trade between the Aircraft Carrier Base and the Peach Blossom Base, it took ninety thousand seeds to get 2,400 Purification Potions. That meant it took nearly forty different types of plant seeds to trade for one potion.
Now, a single plant species could be traded for one potion. Didn’t that mean their previous exchange was a massive loss?
Ren Yuanyang replied with a smile, "Rarity determines value. We already have seeds for over a million different plants. If someone can still produce a plant completely different from all of those, wouldn’t you say it’s worth the price?"
Wang Jun nodded slightly.
"Do you think the Aircraft Carrier Base lost out on its deal with us before?" Ren Yuanyang continued, still smiling.
"From a price perspective, it does seem like a loss, but in reality, we profited immensely!" Wang Jun replied at once, after a brief pause.
"As long as you understand, that’s what matters. Figure out how many soldiers on the Aircraft Carrier Base still haven’t used a Purification Potion, and let’s get them all supplied this time," Ren Yuanyang said.
"Thank you, Master! We’ll get a count right away!" Wang Jun’s eyes lit up.
"Mm. Once you have the total, report it directly to Elder Hua. Include what you’ll need for trades with other fleets, and have Elder Hua produce them all in one go." With that, Ren Yuanyang ended the call.
Wang Jun immediately posted the prices in the regional channel.
When everyone saw the prices, they were all quite surprised.
"This is way too cheap! The Evolution Potions can’t be fake, can they?"
"You can trade one type of plant for an Evolution Potion! I need to hurry and fish some more plants out of the ocean!"
"Dude, to the guy who posted above, don’t even think about it! Didn’t you hear them say the River Bird Fleet sold the entire International Seed Bank to the Aircraft Carrier Base? You think they won’t have whatever plants you manage to pull out of the water?"
"I forgot it has to be plants they *don’t* have! In that case, trying to trade plants for Evolution Potions is going to be incredibly difficult!"
"It’s practically impossible! I heard the International Seed Bank has an incredible variety of seeds—pretty much every plant species on Blue Star should be in there!"
"I’ll search anyway. It gives me something to hope for. What if I manage to find one plant they haven’t cataloged?"
"I feel like getting animals is the hard part. Where are you supposed to find a pair, just like that? Normal survivors don’t have animals. This offer is clearly meant for the large fleets or bases; it has nothing to do with the average survivor!"
"You can’t say that. I have several hamsters with me. I grabbed them when the flood came. If I hadn’t been able to catch fish from the water later on, I probably would have eaten them by now!"
"Good thing you didn’t eat them! You can trade those for at least three Evolution Potions!"
"That’s not a sure thing. It depends on whether the Aircraft Carrier Base has hamsters already, and whether they’ll even take them. Who’s going to keep a small animal with no economic benefit? Isn’t that just a waste of food?"
"@Captain Wang Jun, do you accept hamsters?" that survivor asked, tagging Wang Jun directly.
"We do. As it happens, our base doesn’t have any yet!" Wang Jun replied at once.
He had already received Ren Yuanyang’s instructions to accept any and all animals, regardless of their economic benefit.
"Holy shit, they’ll even take those?! What about ants?"
"We will accept any animal that the Aircraft Carrier Base does not currently have, regardless of its economic benefit or value!" Wang Jun added.
This sent all the survivors into a frenzy.
"That’s great! I have a litter of puppies on my boat that my dog had. I have to ask right away if I can trade them!"
"Don’t get too excited, everyone. Even if you have some small animals, have you considered how you’re going to trade them to the Aircraft Carrier Base? Do you have enough diesel to get there?"
"Yeah, I’m way too far from the Aircraft Carrier Base. I have to rely on my own oars to get anywhere. This is awkward!"
"Does that mean I got excited for nothing? I already registered my trade with the Aircraft Carrier Base, but what do I do now that I can’t deliver?"
Seeing this, Wang Jun posted again: "Everyone, don’t worry about the delivery issue. If you are unable to bring them to us, we can come to you to pick them up. Of course, if you don’t dare to reveal your position and are also unable to deliver, then the trade will have to be canceled."
"What? The Aircraft Carrier Base is going to come pick up the animals themselves? How much fuel would that take?"
"The Aircraft Carrier Base has three carrier fleets and who knows how many supply ships. They must have plenty of fuel!"
"No matter how much they have, they can’t afford to burn it like that! Just having the three carrier fleets rendezvous must have consumed the majority of their fuel!"
