"Everyone, don’t panic. It looks like we can’t seek refuge at the Xi’an Base!" Anderson said in a low voice. "There are so many of us, you think we can’t survive? First, let’s find a Second-level Wind Sea Region to settle down in and make use of the seeds the Aircraft Carrier Base gave us!"
"The Aircraft Carrier Base isn’t taking those seeds back anymore, so how are we supposed to use them?" someone asked, confused.
"We can plant them ourselves. Even though space on the ship is limited, every little bit we can grow helps!" Anderson’s voice held a trace of resignation.
"Captain, we could actually sell them to other survivors!" someone suggested.
Anderson glanced at him and snorted coldly. "Any survivor with half a brain won’t take them!"
The Aircraft Carrier Base offers a pickup service. If the seeds were normal, no one would be reselling them to others.
’Any seeds being resold must be faulty!’
The man shrank back and said no more.
"All right, let’s get moving for the sake of our survival!" Anderson continued to order.
The crowd dispersed. Out of Anderson’s earshot, they began to whisper among themselves.
"If we’d known it would turn out like this, we never should have followed Anderson out here!"
"Tell me about it! But we can’t go back now. The Aircraft Carrier Base won’t take us in again!"
"That’s not necessarily true. We could just say we were tricked by Anderson. If we act humbly enough... I’ve heard the Dragon Country People are soft-hearted!"
"So, are you saying we should turn on Anderson?"
"We’d need to get more people on board for that. No matter what, Anderson is an Evolver. With too few people, we probably wouldn’t stand a chance against him!"
"Right..."
Just then, Anderson arrived at the cabin where the seeds were stored. A crewman who had come to sort the grain seeds complained to him with a pained look, "Captain, it seems there aren’t any rice, wheat, or soybean seeds at all. It’s all stuff I’ve never seen before!"
Hearing this, Anderson’s brow furrowed even deeper. He immediately strode forward and used his Wood-Type Superpower to accelerate the seeds’ growth.
The results were nothing but small, toxic grasses, vines, and saplings. Not a single one was edible!
"Wang Jun, you are truly ruthless!" Anderson’s expression was incredibly dark.
Although he had only forced a small portion of them to grow, the results were enough to prove that the Aircraft Carrier Base had never intended to give them seeds for food crops!
"Captain, what do we do now?" one of his men asked anxiously from the side.
Anderson could only reply, "We’ll take it one step at a time!"
"What if we swallow our pride and go back to the Aircraft Carrier Base?" another man suggested cautiously.
Anderson shot him a look and said coldly, "Do you think the Aircraft Carrier Base would ever take us back?"
The man shrank back and finally just shook his head.
While Anderson and his men were fretting over the useless seeds, Lin Mu of the Peach Blossom Base was instructing agricultural experts from the Dawn Base and the Aircraft Carrier Base on how to plant the new Enhancement Seeds.
"After being enhanced by our base, these seeds can grow upright in water. Both their growth speed and yield are far greater than that of ordinary plants!"
Ren Yuanyang had deliberately told Lin Mu to say this, attributing the Enhancement Seed technology to the base.
"You just need to pay attention to the sowing depth, or you can sprout the seedlings first and then plant them directly in the water!" Lin Mu continued. "There isn’t much else to worry about. Because they grow so fast, the crops are ready for harvest before pests even have time to develop! You don’t need to worry about nutrients either; the rainwater has enough. To eliminate the toxins and viruses in the rainwater, just use water purified by the Dripping Lotus!"
After hearing Lin Mu’s introduction, the agricultural experts from the Aircraft Carrier Base and the Dawn Base were all stunned.
"Are you sure these seeds can be planted directly in water and grow upright?"
"How fast can they grow? So fast that pests don’t have time to attack?"
Lin Mu smiled and replied, "I know it sounds a bit incredible. Just plant some and see for yourselves! If you have any problems, contact me right away!"
Wang Jun also spoke up at the right moment. "Everyone, just plant them according to Minister Lin’s instructions for now. We’ll learn and understand the characteristics of these seeds through practice!"
Hearing Wang Jun’s command, the agricultural experts stopped asking questions and agreed.
"Thank you for your hard work, Minister Lin!" Wang Jun said with a smile to Lin Mu, who was on screen.
Lin Mu hurriedly cupped his hands. "You’re too kind, Captain Wang. It’s my duty!"
"Just how high is the yield for these Enhancement Seeds our Master gave us?" Wang Jun asked curiously.
Lin Mu smiled and replied, "Limited by the nutrients in the rainwater and the capacity of a single plant, the yield per plant is 32 times that of an ordinary one."
Hearing this, Wang Jun’s eyes widened. "32 times!"
"That’s right. If it weren’t for the various limitations, it could be even higher!" Lin Mu said with absolute certainty.
"They mature in two days, and the yield is 32 times the original! This is just too..." Wang Jun couldn’t even find the right word to describe it.
"No need to be so surprised, Captain Wang. There will be even more amazing things in the future!" Lin Mu said with a slight shake of his head.
Wang Jun was slightly taken aback, then nodded. "In that case, I’ll be looking forward to it!"
After the call ended, Ji Yizhi and Long Zhan immediately rushed to the planting cabin. Inside, the cabin was filled with shouts of astonishment.
"How is this possible? How can the growth rate be so fast!"
"These seedlings can actually stand upright in the water! They must be completely mutated, right?"
"I’ve been observing for a while now. Their root systems are growing completely normally, with no signs of stagnation or rot. We haven’t pumped in any extra oxygen, nor have we exposed the roots to the air!"
