Li Tong chuckled lightly and started to tease.
Qin Yun became noticeably excited, and immediately rushed to make himself a cup of coffee, sipping it as he asked, "Sister Li, is there anything else we need to do?"
"That’s a question for the team leader," Li Tong said with a smile.
"There are no instructions from the team leader right now; he’s probably busy with something critical," Qin Yun said, scratching his head and giving a sheepish laugh.
"Then that’s it, once I’ve reported these materials to Elder Zhao, our mission will also be nearly complete!"
At this moment, Li Tong’s computer screen displayed ’Data transfer in progress.’
Ding, transfer complete.
It was then that Li Tong finally heaved a sigh of relief and stretched languidly.
"Sister Li, will our group be disbanded after we complete this mission?" Qin Yun asked, somewhat puzzled.
"Why wouldn’t we disband?"
"If we disband, does that mean the team leader won’t work with us anymore?" Qin Yun suddenly started to feel worried.
Li Tong burst out with a snicker, "You’ll have to ask the team leader about that."
Qin Yun pouted and said no more.
After Qin Yun’s comment, Li Tong also felt inexplicably nostalgic, realizing that with the end of this operation, there was a high probability that the team would disband.
At most, they would have a farewell meal and then everyone would go their separate ways.
What a pity!
Such a strong team leader!
Li Tong just felt that working with Lin Chuan brought an inexplicable sense of ease, and the efficiency was extraordinarily high.
She didn’t have to run around like before with little to show for it.
With Lin Chuan, there were constantly little shocks he would give them.
For instance, this morning, Lin Chuan suddenly brought out key materials from the Baisheng Group, telling them they could prepare for action.
Surprised? Excited?
That feeling was just too thrilling!
Of course.
It wasn’t just Li Tong who felt exhilarated, Qin Yun and Zhao Haiping did as well.
After receiving Li Tong’s message, Zhao Haiping, despite his age, waited up until past eleven at night for Li Tong to fully transfer the data.
Then, he started the analysis overnight.
By this afternoon, Zhao Haiping had already set up a data analysis team, and they were working with great efficiency.
Now, the data analysis team was busy at work.
Zhao Haiping, holding a thermos cup and with a jacket draped over his shoulders, stood next to the team, waiting for the first-hand results.
His face was full of smiles.
For him, this was extremely exciting.
He had thought that at least a couple of months of preparation would be needed before they could act against Baisheng Group.
But unexpectedly, the information from Lin Chuan came so quickly!
As the data analysis team wouldn’t produce results instantly, Zhao Haiping thought for a while, then walked to the nearby office, picked up the landline, and dialed a string of numbers with practiced ease.
This string of numbers belonged to his previous superior, Wang An.
The Minister of Public Security.
"Old Zhao, not yet asleep?" As soon as Wang An spoke, there was concern.
"Old leader, I can’t sleep!" Zhao Haiping’s face was all smiles, "I have major news to report to you!"
"What major news?" Wang An asked.
"Once you hear it, I bet you won’t be able to sleep tonight either," Zhao Haiping teased.
Wang An was momentarily taken aback, "Let’s hear it."
Zhao Haiping pondered for a moment, "Lin Chuan has obtained the core data from the Baisheng Group."
"Hmm?"
Wang An was instantly shocked.
As Zhao Haiping had expected, a wave of joy surged in his heart, like a rush of alcohol to his head, causing surprise and excitement that were hard to contain.
Wang An eagerly asked, "The data, let me see it."
"Old leader, it’s currently being analyzed, once we get the results, I will report to you immediately!"
Zhao Haiping’s voice boomed, his spine straight, full of vigor in his speech.
"Good, good, good!" Wang An said ’good’ thrice, his face brimming with a bright smile, not minding the wrinkles that showed, not the slightest bit.
This news was of great significance.
Not only to him but also to the entire Asia-Pacific Region.
Morgan had completely disappeared from the Asia-Pacific region.
If the Baisheng Group were also uprooted...
Then the Asia-Pacific Region would be clear and bright, rocketing forward the domestic security environment, especially in anti-fraud, anti-gambling, anti-human trafficking, anti-addictive drugs, and so on.
"Comrade Lin is exceptional!" Wang An praised Lin Chuan again.
"Indeed, he’s great! I was also quite surprised when I got the news," Zhao Haiping chuckled.
Wang An was very pleased and asked, "I’m curious, where did he get this information from?"
"You might not believe it if I told you," Zhao Haiping said with a smile, "he planted someone undercover in the Baisheng Group and then obtained the core server data."
"Like with the Morgan Group?" Wang An remembered how Lin Chuan had flipped Lucas’s secretary, Moli.
Zhao Haiping shook his head, "This situation is a bit different."
"Be more specific," Wang An grew more curious.
"This part, I personally find it unbelievable too. The undercover was originally a network technician we had planted in a subsidiary of the Morgan Group..."
Zhao Haiping didn’t hide anything from his old superior, Wang An, and reported in full the broad details of how Lin Chuan had supported Squirrel to rise to power.
Wang An took a deep breath after hearing the report.
He truly couldn’t sleep now!
Such operations were unheard of to him!
Even for filming movies or writing novels, they might not be so exaggerated.
Not to mention in reality, in just a short month or so, for a network technician from a subsidiary of the Morgan Group to leap into being a key figure in the Baisheng Group’s core region, who would believe that?
But Lin Chuan had indeed created such a legendary path for an agent.
How could he not be astonished?
"I think I should personally make a trip to Anling," Wang An murmured.
"You’re going personally?"
Zhao Haiping was also taken aback, his mouth agape.
"Keep Lin Chuan and the undercover’s matter confidential, and don’t let the people from the National Security Bureau hear about it," Wang An specifically instructed.
"Currently, the matter of Lin Chuan and the undercover at the Baisheng Group is completely confidential. However, I guess that Lin Chuan’s use of the undercover secretary to annihilate the Morgan Group’s Asia-Pacific Branch might have already reached the ears of National Security," Zhao Haiping said helplessly.
Wang An was silent for a long while, "They won’t try to snatch him from me, right?"
Zhao Haiping’s mouth twitched slightly, "They... they probably won’t."
"Forget it, let’s not dwell on this for now. Once we’ve taken down the Baisheng Group, I will personally go and meet this Comrade Lin," Wang An said.
"Okay."
"By the way, if you need any help, I can arrange it for you at any time," Wang An added.
"Thank you, old leader!"
Zhao Haiping was delighted in his heart, he had been waiting for these words.
The data analysis team had been busy all night and a morning.
Finally, at noon the next day, they got the results.
Zhao Haiping joyfully and contentedly looked at the results, he handed them to Wang An first thing, and then convened an emergency meeting at the Interpol Asia Bureau.
The meeting was heated and lasted a long time.
It wasn’t until 8 o’clock in the evening that they agreed on an action plan.
"Comrade Lin, based on the information you provided, we’ve planned to launch an operation to eradicate the Baisheng Group on the night of three days from now at nine o’clock!"
Zhao Haiping personally informed Lin Chuan.
"Okay," Lin Chuan replied.
"At that time, you and the Anling Police will act on the move to take down the minions in the Anling region as well! But be cautious and keep safe," Zhao Haiping specifically instructed, his voice full of concern.
"Don’t worry, Elder Zhao," Lin Chuan said with a laugh.
Elder Zhao carefully gave a few more instructions before hanging up the phone.
At that moment,
Lin Chuan first sent a message to Squirrel: "On the third day, we close the net."
Squirrel, having grown over this period, was now a professional and top-level undercover. He immediately got the gist.
As the leader of the International Police Special Action Team in charge of the cyber intelligence division, Lin Chuan began instructing Squirrel on the specific details of the operation.
Squirrel took the instructions very seriously.
He would play a critical role when the time came.
After advising Squirrel, Lin Chuan let out a long breath, leaned back on the sofa, and a radiant smile spread across his face.
The Baisheng Group, this nail soaked in sin, would finally be thoroughly removed from his life!
