June 13.
The mist of early morning dissipated, and a gentle breeze blew from the riverside, carrying moist vapors and the faint scent of flowers. It wove through the roads during the morning rush hour, circled around, and blew into the window, fluttering the curtains.
'Dong dong dong.'
At nine o'clock sharp, there was a knock on the door of Lin Chuan's hotel room.
"Coming,"
Lin Chuan, who had woken up early, quickly walked to the door, pulled down the handle, opened the door, and saw Youyou standing outside, steady as ever. Dressed in a simple white shirt paired with a dark blue A-line skirt, she accentuated her willowy waist and straight, fair legs, with a pair of white canvas shoes adding youthful vibrance.
"Lin Chuan, good morning,"
Youyou lifted her pretty face to look at Lin Chuan.
She had deliberately applied light makeup, which made her already adorable face look even more delicate and beautiful.
Lin Chuan smiled and teased, "It's nine o'clock sharp, not sending a text message instead?"
Smoothing her long hair by her left ear, Youyou blinked her bright eyes and revealed a radiant smile, "You're already here, so to show my sincerity, I came to say good morning in person. Isn't that okay?"
"Good, of course, good!"
Lin Chuan lifted his eyebrows and laughed, "This treatment is truly exceptional."
Youyou lightly tilted her head with a touch of pretentious pride and said, "That's right, only you get to enjoy this kind of treatment."
"I'm immensely honored!"
Lin Chuan extended his hand to invite Youyou in.
Confidently raising her fair legs, Youyou walked into the room and looked around, "Are you getting used to the place?"
"How could I not get used to a hotel you picked for me?" Lin Chuan said half-jokingly.
"The environment of this hotel is indeed nice, but there's another reason; it's close to my home," Youyou said with a smile on her lips.
"Youyou, you've gone through so much trouble for my visit to Modu," Lin Chuan said with a smile.
"Please don't say that; I am still counting on you to help me become the chief editor," Youyou pouted slightly, a playful look on her face.
Lin Chuan raised his eyebrows, slightly surprised, "You were just worrying about your performance last time, and now you're aiming for the chief editor's position?"
"I have to thank you for that. You alone account for half of my performance. If you could do another film adaptation, I'd have a chance to be promoted to chief editor," Youyou said with a laugh.
"For the sake of your position as chief editor, I'll have to try even harder," Lin Chuan cheerfully laughed.
"Definitely."
Youyou pursed her lips and said with a glowing smile.
Lin Chuan laughed again, teasing, "I kind of feel like I'm working hard for a boss's dream, you know?"
Pouting her lips again and still wearing a smile that was both coy and playful, Youyou said, "If I were your boss, you would be locked up here right now, typing away furiously!"
"Heartless boss!"
"Hahaha..."
Lin Chuan and Youyou looked at each other and smiled, both faces bright with happiness.
Being old friends who had known each other for many years, though now alone in a room, there were no undue inhibitions or barriers between them. In fact, they found each other's company quite relaxed and joyful.
"All right, let's get down to serious business."
Youyou glanced at the time and suggested.
"Okay."
Lin Chuan nodded.
Sitting on the sofa in the room, Youyou began to arrange Lin Chuan's schedule for the day.
At ten in the morning sharp, they would discuss the film adaptation of "All-In" with Director Shen Cheng at the nearby South Bank Tea House. After the meeting, Youyou planned to take Lin Chuan to the amusement park for fun, and by five in the afternoon, they would be at the Modu Museum, witnessing the "Ceremony of the Cultural Relics Returned from Abroad."
As for the evening.
Youyou wanted to walk along the riverbank with Lin Chuan, trying some special local foods, without the need to rush.
"How about my arrangement?" Youyou asked with a blink and a smile.
"I'm all ears." Get hooked on NovelFire _emp _yr novels.
Lin Chuan nodded in agreement after hearing the plans.
"By the way, last night the chief editor sent me a message, saying he would like to introduce you to a renowned private collector at the ceremony at five in the afternoon," Youyou continued.
"Of course, that's no problem."
Lin Chuan didn't hesitate to accept.
"Then let's get going, set off."
Youyou smiled, stood up, and naturally slipped her arm through Lin Chuan's as they left the hotel.
At ten o'clock.
In the South Bank Tea House, Lin Chuan met the famous director Shen Cheng and a screenwriter and began discussing the film adaptation of "All-In."
The Anti-Fraud Center and Sunshine Film and Television's intention was to adapt "All-In" into a movie and quickly start production.
Hoping to capitalize on the high public interest in anti-fraud efforts, they planned to complete filming, editing, and release the movie within three months.
Lin Chuan had no objections.
About the specific details of the adaptation, Lin Chuan, not being a screenwriter and not well-versed in adaptation, mainly gave his approval, occasionally offering constructive suggestions based on his actual experience.
The discussion was pleasant for both sides.
After two hours, the conversation ended.
The rest of the time was Youyou's domain.
Youyou excitedly led Lin Chuan toward the amusement park.
"Darling, let's go ride the roller coaster!"
"Play bumper cars with me, my driving skills are top-notch!"
"Lin Chuan, come on the merry-go-round with me, okay?"
"And the Ferris wheel!"
Youyou was full of energy, and Lin Chuan could tell that she really wanted to come to the amusement park.
After all, she was his editor, right?
Lin Chuan had visited amusement parks a few times as a child, but he had never been back since growing up. Labels like 'on the brink of bankruptcy', 'broke', and 'typing all day' weighed on him—he'd be lucky to visit an amusement park.
However, the experience of exploring the park with Youyou was also quite nice.
Soon, it was five in the afternoon.
The "Ceremony of the Cultural Relics Returned from Abroad" took place in one of the museum halls.
