Youyou immediately became alert, tactically retreated, and her face showed a slight furrow in her brows, even the beauty mark at the corner of her eye seemed on guard, “Sister Mingyue, you really are hungry.”
“Nonsense!”
Mingyue tilted her head lightly, with a faint smile, “I am not hungry at all.”
“You’re even trying to poach Lin Chuan from under me, if not hungry, then what?” Youyou pouted a bit, feeling wronged, “I only have a handful of authors to be proud of, and if you take one away, I’ll have to pack up and leave.”
“Just teasing you, look how scared you got,” Mingyue laughed.
Youyou’s irritation turned to happiness, “Sister Mingyue, level with me some of your influent authors.”
Mingyue feigned anger, stiffening her face, “You little minx, now you’re setting your sights on my people too.”
“Sister Mingyue, you play favorites too.”
With a full smile, Youyou teased Mingyue.
“You little minx,” Mingyue laughed, then took a sip of her coffee.
After pondering for a while, Youyou asked, “By the way, Sister Mingyue, if Lin Chuan really takes first place in ‘Heroes Compete’ this time, what about the rewards?”
“Are you interested in my advice?” Mingyue asked.
Youyou nodded.
Mingyue smiled, “Since this is his first quality work, ‘IP rights development’ should be audio adaptations, ‘website exclusive recommendations’ can help his ‘Swindler’ hit the major leagues, and as for ‘video platform book promotion to drive traffic’, I suggest allocating it to the new book.”
“That’s what I was thinking too,” Youyou smiled gently, as beautiful as the spring.
Subsequently.
She opened Lin Chuan’s chat window, “Lin Chuan, your draft has been reviewed.
In the rental.
Lin Chuan saw the message from Youyou pop up on his phone, sat up straight from the back of the chair, and replied, “Mingyue didn’t scold me, did she?”
Youyou laughed, teasing Lin Chuan, “That didn’t happen, but, she said she wanted to file a police report.”
“Ah, don’t scare me, Youyou!”
Lin Chuan’s eyes paused, he was stunned.
Filing a police report was worse than scolding me, too frightening.
“Seriously, I am very curious, how could you write those scenes so thoroughly and, moreover, with such professional handling?” Youyou was puzzled.
Lin Chuan’s mouth twitched, his fingers tapped rapidly on the keyboard, “Youyou, don’t underestimate a writer who’s suffered countless failures, to write a hit book, they could research anything!”
The searching ability of web novel writers is indeed top-notch.
There’s a big shot in the circle who, in the name of researching materials, hacked into the official security system and ended up investigating himself, landing in jail for three years.
So hardcore!
“Lin Chuan, you need to be a law-abiding good citizen!” Youyou messaged him.
Lin Chuan’s mouth twitched again.
This line, why does it sound so familiar?
“Youyou, you know me, I always abide by the law,” Lin Chuan replied quickly.
Youyou smiled, “It’s precisely because I know you that I worry you might do something foolish for the sake of writing inspiration.”
“Uh, I’m being rational,” Lin Chuan replied.
“That’s good, now let’s talk about your new book ‘This Assassin Is Too Professional,’ I and Mingyue believe...”
Youyou conveyed her and Mingyue’s editorial opinions along with Mingyue’s suggestions for the ‘Heroes Compete’ first-place reward to Lin Chuan.
After reading them, Lin Chuan’s mouth curved upwards slightly.
Getting the approval from both Youyou and Mingyue indicated that ‘This Assassin Is Too Professional’ indeed had great potential.
Moreover.
Using the ‘Heroes Compete’ first-place reward of ‘video platform book promotion to drive traffic’ on the new book coincided with his own thinking.
Since ‘Swindler’ itself was promoted using special methods, utilizing ‘video platform book promotion to drive traffic’ would not have much effect.
Better to allocate this benefit to ‘This Assassin Is Too Professional.’
This move was permitted by ‘Sailing Novel.’
Now, March 17th.
There was still some time until the ‘Heroes Compete’ settlement on March 21st.
Since ‘Swindler’ had not been finalized for long, there was no rush to publish the new book.
But, it was okay to start preheating it.
Lin Chuan ended his chat with Youyou and turned to open the reader group chat.
In recent days, the size of Lin Chuan’s reader group had expanded at an astonishing speed.
Now, there were over 1300 members.
Lin Chuan thought for a moment and began tapping on the keyboard, “@everyone, brothers, my next book is coming soon!”
When the readers in the group saw Lin Chuan @everyone, they immediately replied.
[Yo ho! Preview of the new book!]
[Caught a wild author in action!]
[Author? Criminal suspect!]
[A new book? Is the author that prolific?]
[I think the author is born with the divine typing physique, seamlessly integrated with the keyboard!]
[Brothers, the author is starting a new book! It’s time to learn new skills again!]
[Learning skills? More like squatting in a cell!]
[How could I end up there if the author hasn’t?]
[Author, hurry up and tell us what criminal skills you’re teaching this time!]
[Ah spit, what’s the theme of the new book this time?]
The reader group was very active, and messages quickly flooded in, overwhelming Lin Chuan.
The corners of Lin Chuan’s mouth lifted slightly.
He also didn’t keep the new book a secret and revealed directly in the group, “Brothers, this time, the new book is about an assassin theme, should be very interesting.”
[Good, I’ll learn it right away!]
[Wait, what theme did you say?]
[Assassin? Holy shit!]
[Is this even a skill I can learn?]
[I’m doomed!]
[The author takes his leave, I concede!]
[May I quietly ask, is it the kind of ‘assassin’ we’re thinking of?]
Lin Chuan replied, “Yes, this time it’s a challenge of a brand-new profession, different from theft and swindling, it’s an assassin, the professional kind.”
The very active reader group suddenly went quiet for three or four seconds; nobody spoke.
The text looked plain, but coming from Lin Chuan, it felt quite thrilling.
A brand-new profession?
Assassin?
The professional kind?
Sheesh!
How could a non-professional write at a professional level?
Just like “Swindler”, the reason it attracted so many readers wasn’t it because Lin Chuan was a real swindler and even pulled off an impressive feat once?
So, this time Mr. Lin says he’s going to write about assassins...
Could it be that Mr. Lin has this hidden identity?
“Why aren’t you guys talking?”
In front of the computer, Lin Chuan frowned slightly as his fingers danced quickly across the keyboard.
The sudden silence was the most frightening.
A reader responded, “Criminal suspect Mr. Lin, what do you think I should say?”
Lin Chuan showed a bitter expression and quickly replied to clarify, “How did I become a criminal suspect? I’m writing books seriously.”
[Which serious book writer dares to say they can write about a professional assassin?]
[Hey! Police Number, I’m reporting my author in real name!]
[I declare, I am in this group only to read books, and I have nothing to do with criminal suspect Mr. Lin.]
[Surrender, and you may receive a lighter punishment!]
[Mr. Lin, you should turn yourself in!]
