Chapter 80 The God of Hackers Makes a Move!
Anling City, Qingxiu District.
At the Forbidden Summit Esports Internet Cafe, inside a small office.
In front of a computer desk measuring 75 centimeters high and 120 centimeters long, there sat the notebook with the Little Landlady’s pink stickers.
Lin Chuan was seated at the desk, his gaze fixed on the notebook screen, hands on the external DAREU mechanical keyboard, typing swiftly.
Lines of code scrolled rapidly on the 14-inch notebook screen.
Li Qing, the Little Landlady, and Zhang Ren each wore a different expression.
Li Qing watched the lines of code with a burning gaze, not wanting to miss a single character, aware that his boss was about to go to ‘war’ with the intruder.
For someone engaged in cybersecurity, this was undoubtedly like a well-trained soldier embarking on a journey, with a surge of enthusiasm gradually stirring and igniting within his heart.
Yes.
Hacker attacks and defenses resembled a silent war.
However, the Little Landlady couldn’t comprehend the code Lin Chuan was typing.
So, she chose to watch Lin Chuan.
At this moment, Lin Chuan appeared very serious and focused.
In the Little Landlady’s eyes, her preconceived impression of Lin Chuan began to fade, replaced by a new image that was quietly taking shape.
Lin Chuan’s face was handsome to begin with, only obscured by his ‘down-and-out’ and ‘poor’ appearance. But when confidence and focus appeared on his face, the charm naturally revealed itself.
Confidence and focus were a man’s best cosmetic surgery.
The Little Landlady, pursing her lips, muttered to herself, “My mentor, who engages in writing online novels, seems a bit different.”
But soon, the Little Landlady got busy with her work.
Zhang Xinxin pulled Zhang Ren aside to sit down, “Uncle, let’s talk about the emergency defense fee for this time.”
Zhang Ren was startled, “Niece, isn’t Lin still working on the defense?”
Zhang Xinxin’s eyelashes fluttered, and she smiled brightly, “Uncle, you have no reason to doubt the strength of our Studio 720, especially my master’s capabilities. I guarantee there will be no issues with your internet cafe’s server. So, why not save some time and settle the accounts in advance?”
Zhang Ren: “???”
The Little Landlady took out her mobile phone from her pocket, opened the calculator, and began to work it out by herself, “Uncle, as stipulated in our contract, the fee for one emergency security defense...”
On the other side.
Lin Chuan had already begun tracing the intruder’s IP address.
Tracing the intruder’s IP address was certainly not easy.
Hackers have techniques to hide their tracks. They commonly use proxy techniques, reflective attacks, stepping attacks, zombie networks, Tor technology, and others to prevent their whereabouts from being traced.
“Boss, I tried to trace the opponent’s IP address, but they used multiple boards to hide the attack source. I have limited skills and don’t know how to continue tracking,” Li Qing said with some shame.
Lin Chuan nodded, smiling, “I just detected that they are using a Control-Type Stepping Attack.”
A so-called stepping attack meant that hackers didn’t launch attacks directly from their own systems to the target but first compromised intermediate systems to use them as “stepping stones.” Then they carried out their attack on the target through these “stepping stone” systems.
It generally comes in two forms: Relay-Type Stepping Attack and Control-Type Stepping Attack.
Li Qing frowned, “Boss, tracking a Control-Type Stepping Attack is even more difficult. They completely control the intermediate stepping stones, making it hard to determine whether their intermediate hosts are stepping stones or the actual source of the attack.”
“That makes sense.”
Lin Chuan’s eyes were glued to the screen, his fingers tapping on the keyboard, he laughed, “But every martial art has its weaknesses. Even though they are using a Control-Type Multiple Stepping Attack, it’s not difficult to find their attack source.”
In the professional life of a hacker.
Lin Chuan had transformed into a Red Hacker more than once, clashing with foreign hackers without a single defeat. He was hailed as the ‘Great Wall of the virtual network.’
He was already familiar with the various tactics of hacker offense and defense.
For Lin Chuan, dealing with multiple stepping attacks was just a matter of spending a few more minutes.
North Bear, Mo City.
In a certain studio, the sea blue strip lights were bright and spacious, reflecting a dense tangle of wires and data cables, quite messy. The ‘tap tap tap’ sound was incessant, the sound of North Bear’s hackers typing on their keyboards.
Angelina sat in a corner of the studio, wearing a simple black sweatshirt that made her skin look pale and delicate. On her lower half, she wore tight jeans and half-high boots, perfectly outlining her long legs’ curves.
In her hands was a smartphone, displaying the overseas version of Lin Chuan’s “Hacker Kingdom”.
“Hey, Angelina.”
A member of the North Bear walked over.
“Andrei, do we have a mission?” Angelina turned and asked.
Andrei shook his head, smiling, “No, just wanted to share some fun that’s happening right now.”
“Not interested.”
Angelina was lackluster, her mind filled with Lin Chuan’s “Hacker Kingdom”.
“You’ll definitely be interested. ‘Kaspersky’ is showing that there’s a massive hacker battle underway.”
Angelina reluctantly perked up a bit, “A hacker battle?”
“Yeah, a hacker organization from the NA region is conducting a large-scale cyber intrusion against Han River area,” Andrei said with a smile, “Since you’re not interested, I won’t invite you to watch.”
“Wait.”
Angelina suddenly stopped Andrei, “Did you say Han River?”
“Yes,” Andrei nodded.
Angelina immediately turned off her phone, booted up her computer, and opened ‘Kaspersky’.
Kaspersky is a real-time monitoring map site of cyber attacks from North Bear, showing the scope and frequency of hacker attacks around the world. (image in comment section)
“Didn’t you say you weren’t interested?” Andrei asked, puzzled.
“You wouldn’t understand.”
Angelina flashed a smile.
In Han River, her God of Hackers was there!
With a hacker organization launching an invasion against Han River, would the God of Hackers make a move?
Angelina was beginning to feel a bit of anticipation.
The defense in “Hacker Kingdom” was incredibly deft, and she was eager to see her God of Hackers take action, to witness the miracles like those in “Hacker Kingdom”!
The Kaspersky real-time cyber attack monitoring map showed that Han River was suffering from dense invasions and hits, in a defensive stance.
Virtually powerless to retaliate.
Angelina furrowed her brow, thinking that if her idol didn’t step in, the Han River Network would suffer a heavy blow.
Suddenly!
A light shot out from the Han River area on the map.
Angelina immediately started the corresponding detection tools, analyzing this counterstrike from Han River.
After a moment.
Angelina’s eyes lit up, her chest heaved, and she breathed slightly faster, “The God of Hackers has made his move!”
“The God of Hackers?” Andrei furrowed his brow.
Angelina took a deep breath and, without answering Andrei’s question, said, “Andrei, help me prepare the livestream program.”
“You want to livestream?” Andrei asked, perplexed.
Little stars sparkled in Angelina’s eyes, her face beaming with excitement, “Of course, my idol’s epic counterstrike has begun, and I want all the hackers around the world to see the grace of the God of Hackers!”
