“Officer, are you really going to collaborate with our 720 Studio?” Zhang Xinxin doubted she had heard correctly and asked again.
The other side replied solemnly once more, “We have the intention to collaborate, so we’d like to talk in detail with the person in charge of your 720 Studio about the collaboration.”
Little Landlady’s pretty face lit up with joy, “Lin Chuan is currently... busy with something, but you can start by telling me about the intent of the collaboration, as well as the services you require. I’ll pass the message to Lin Chuan. Oh, and by the way, I am Zhang Xinxin, the person in charge of business partnerships at 720 Studio.”
The two parties chatted pleasantly over the phone.
Zhang Xinxin felt that the Anling Cyber Security Detachment seemed really eager to make this collaboration happen, even leaving the meeting time and location up to Lin Chuan and her, making it very convenient for 720 Studio.
After hanging up the phone.
Little Landlady’s face was radiant with a brilliant smile, “Has our studio become so strong that even the police are seeking to collaborate with us?”
“This is a huge deal. My studio’s plans can now be realized even faster!”
Little Landlady said this as she ran towards Lin Chuan’s rental.
Sixth floor.
Little Landlady hurried up, her face flushed and breathless.
Thump thump thump!
“Who is it?”
Lin Chuan groggily woke up and casually put on a T-shirt.
“Me!”
Little Landlady’s voice came from outside the rental.
Creak—
“So you really wanted to join me for a siesta?” Lin Chuan opened the door, scratching the back of his head.
Little Landlady spat and said with a smirk, “In your dreams.”
Little Landlady touched her cheek and said with a smile, “Mr. Chairman, our studio has just received some incredibly good news!”
“What good news?”
Lin Chuan rubbed his temples, feeling much alert.
“Can I come in to talk?” Little Landlady glanced at the staircase, which wasn’t the right place for serious discussions.
“You’re Little Landlady, of course you can come in,” Lin Chuan said with a laugh.
Little Landlady Zhang Xinxin, beaming, didn’t care about being alone with a man, walked right into Lin Chuan’s rental, and naturally took a seat on the wooden sofa in the small living room:
“Mr. Chairman, guess who I just got a call from not long ago?”
“Who?”
“A call from the Cyber Security Detachment,” said Little Landlady with an arched eyebrow and a smile curling her lips, expecting Lin Chuan to show a surprised expression.
However, Lin Chuan seemed to have anticipated this, mumbling, “They found us this quickly.”
Lin Chuan knew all too well.
That morning, hacker organization AW launched a large-scale invasion into Han River, and Anling was greatly affected. While he detected the source of the intrusion at Forbidden Summit Esports Internet Cafe, he learned about this situation.
He wasn’t a ruthless businessman.
A ruthless businessman would take advantage of the situation to drive a hard bargain and profit from it.
But Lin Chuan chose to fight back directly against AW.
After all, when he was experiencing Hacker Professional Life, he had set such a goal for himself: to plant the bright red flag in any corner of the virtual network.
With AW making a move in reality, they naturally became the target for Lin Chuan to test his skills.
With such a commotion in the virtual network, Lin Chuan had expected that it might be detected.
However, this was an opportunity to demonstrate merit, not a suspicion of crime, so Lin Chuan felt quite at ease, even somewhat proud.
In the rental.
Little Landlady stared at Lin Chuan for quite a while, “It seems like you already knew, did you do something secretly and then kept it from me?”
Lin Chuan flashed an awkward smile, “Little Landlady, are you checking up on me?”
“Checking up?” Little Landlady pouted, laughing scoldingly, “Master, as both your apprentice and your partner, can’t I get to know you a little better?”
“Really, you can?”
Lin Chuan’s eyes widened.
“Ah?”
The Little Landlady furrowed her brow and quickly realized she had inadvertently accelerated, then spat out, “Master, be serious!”
Lin Chuan didn’t tease Zhang Xinxin any longer and laughed, “Alright, what does the police want with our 720 Studio?”
“They want to collaborate with our studio,” the Little Landlady replied.
“How do they want to collaborate?”
“The specifics haven’t been discussed yet; they want to meet in person to talk in detail.”
“When and where?”
“It’s up to us to decide.”
Lin Chuan thought for a moment and then said, “How about tomorrow?”
“Then I’ll give them a call back in a bit,” the Little Landlady nodded, then turned and asked, “Master, why is the police suddenly looking to collaborate with us?”
Lin Chuan considered for a moment, “Maybe, because my skills are a bit strong.”
The Little Landlady sized Lin Chuan up and down, curling her lip, “Master, are you flexing?”
Lin Chuan slapped his own forehead, “Little Landlady, I’m serious!”
The Little Landlady muttered, “But, the best in our studio is you, that’s the only explanation.”
Lin Chuan grinned, “Alright, get ready for the collaboration with the police, this deal will be the beginning of our studio’s rise.”
“Yes, Chairman!”
The Little Landlady beamed a radiant smile, stood up, walked out of the rental, and then, she turned back to look at Lin Chuan, asking, “Do you have plans for the May Day holiday?”
“Nope, why?”
“Just asking, heeheehee...” the Little Landlady cheerfully went downstairs, getting ready for the collaboration with the police.
Lin Chuan closed the door and sat in front of the computer.
It was already afternoon, the sun was covered by thick clouds, but the remaining heat was still fierce, albeit the old city area seemed a bit cooler.
Lin Chuan took a cup of boiled water, took a sip, his jaw raised thirty degrees, and the corners of his mouth turned up slightly as he looked outside the window.
Right now, he had two main focuses for his work.
One was writing books.
Last month, “Swindler” and “This Assassin Is Too Professional” brought in 400,000 in royalties, and this month, “Hacker Kingdom” had an average subscription in and out of China that had already crossed ten thousand, so the royalties should be substantial.
The new professional life experience—”Fraud Salesman” from the KK factory area, the novel “All-In” had been generated, a full 800,000 words.
However, Lin Chuan was in no rush to publish, as he was waiting for the Anti-Fraud Center and Sunshine Film and Television to jointly hold the ‘anti-fraud essay contest.’
Youyou had already hinted at him, it would probably start in May, with generous rewards, and confirmed that excellent works would be adapted into films or TV series.
“Film and television adaptation...”
Lin Chuan murmured, something that was basically every web novelist’s dream.
If it could become a hit show, that would be the greatest recognition for the work from the readers and audience, as well as the greatest recognition for Lin Chuan himself.
The second focus was the studio.
At present, the studio was proceeding steadily and solidly, collaborating with several internet cafes, and the police also showed the intention to collaborate.
Without a doubt, this was the police station’s way of showing goodwill in response to Lin Chuan’s meritorious contributions.
If they could secure the police’s collaboration, then 720 Studio would be on the proper track, entering a phase of vigorous development.
Take-off was imminent!
‘Ring ring ring—’
The phone’s ringtone sounded, Lin Chuan glanced at it.
The caller ID showed: Xia Qingqing.
“Officer Xia, good afternoon,” Lin Chuan answered the phone, smiling.
On the other end, Xia Qingqing laughed very brightly, “Writer Lin, would you honor me with your presence for dinner tonight?”
Half-jokingly, Lin Chuan asked, “Officer Xia, you aren’t arranging a Banquet, are you?”
Xia Qingqing chuckled, “What Banquet? I’m purely star-chasing, I’ll be waiting for you tonight at Riverside Cottage.”
