In the outskirts, Green Leaf Ceramic Factory.
As night was beginning to fall and dusk had not yet completely faded, the remnants of daylight cast a mottled pattern on the roof and walls of the factory buildings, while the shadows of trees swayed in the wind, like the fangs and claws of the night, lurking on the ground.
In the distance, the hills undulated, patchworks of light and dark, resembling a slumbering beast, appearing especially sinister in the night.
Around seven o'clock in the evening, the workers at the ceramic factory had all left for the day.
In the office, several key players were gathered.
Liu Qing was still dressed in a cheongsam, but this time it was purple, her demeanor not as simple and elegant as when she was beside Old Zhang. Now, her true nature was revealed, somewhat enchanting and seductive.
Purple really was full of charm.
In her hands, she was holding an ancient coin, slowly turning it in the bright light, admiring the details:
"The calligraphy is vigorous and powerful, the coiled dragon is lifelike—truly beautiful."
Under the light, the coin showed its contours, through the marks of time on it, it seemed as if one could see the storms it had weathered over a hundred years, and also its past glory.
Indeed.
This was the very coin, a 'Fengtian One Tael', created by Lin Chuan.
At Liu Qing's side, President Li was in a casual suit, his face bearing a strange smile, "If that kid knew this coin was worth forty-six million, he'd be green with regret, wouldn't he?"
"Hehe—"
Liu Qin laughed, "By the time he knows, it'll be too late."
"It's just a pity we also put in three million in cash." President Li sighed, conceding that it was okay.
Liu Qin glanced at President Li from the corner of her eye, a smirk forming, "You're really heartless, not even willing to give him three million."
"Forget three million, I don't want to give him a single cent." President Li snorted.
Now that the 'Fengtian One Tael' was in hand, President Li was no longer as cultured as when dealing with Lin Chuan; his eyes were cold and scornful.
After Liu Qing finished admiring the 'Fengtian One Tael', she gently placed the coin into a brocade box and sneered, "Don't worry, the three million in his hands will be ours too."
That was right.
In her hand, she had another card, Old Zhang.
Once Old Zhang took the bait and opened an antique shop, he would source his goods from her; thus, his assets would firmly be under her control, at her mercy.
And what of Lin Chuan?
As a newcomer in the antiques circle, Liu Qing thought she needed only to employ a minor stratagem to bring Lin Chuan into her clutches, leaving him destitute—merely a thought away.
Liu Qing was very confident.
Her confidence came from never having failed.
As the setting sun faded and moonlight spread, the outline of the Green Leaf Ceramic Factory became vague, the air filled with the mixed scent of earth and ceramics.
Outside the ceramic factory, a bright light akin to daylight from car headlights shone in, and a black Audi A8 parked outside the office.
Several burly men got out of the car, led by a pot-bellied middle-aged man whose eyes twinkled coldly, slowly making his way into the office.
"Old Wolf is here."
Liu Qing glanced indifferently at the middle-aged man and smiled.
As soon as the man known as Old Wolf entered, he immediately said in a cold voice, "Where's the stuff?"
"Here."
Liu Qing pointed to a brocade box on the table.
Familiar with the Green Leaf Ceramic Factory's office, Old Wolf walked up to Liu Qing, took the brocade box, opened it immediately, and took out the coin to scrutinize it under the light, "Indeed, it's a fine piece!"
"I've never screwed up in the antiques business," Liu Qing said with a hint of pride, her lips curling upwards.
"Well done, the funds will be transferred to your account shortly, just as you expected," Old Wolf said with a smile, slipping the small brocade box into his suit pocket.
Liu Qing and President Li exchanged smiles.
Then, Old Wolf's gaze turned cold as he looked at Liu Qing, "The boss has other orders, once you have control of your fish, get ready to make your move!"
Liu Qing's eyes flickered as she asked, "Make a move? Is it against that kid?"
Old Wolf added, "Not just against that kid, but also clean up his girlfriend and bring them both to the factory area."
"No problem." Liu Qing's eyes took on a frosty layer.
"I'm off." Old Wolf dropped the words and turned to leave.
"Be careful not to get caught."
"Stuff your bloody nonsense!" Old Wolf cursed.
Little did he know, as he stepped out the door, he saw shadows overlapping in the darkness ahead.
Just as he was feeling puzzled, suddenly there was a flash of light.
Four or five red flashlights blinked intermittently, accompanied by the distinctive sound of sirens, and beams of light shone forth, dazzling Old Wolf's eyes amid the vast darkness.
The police were here!
"Freeze, police!"
Just as Old Wolf thought about running, the cold muzzle of a gun was already pressed against his forehead, ready to fire a bullet that could penetrate his skull at any moment, preventing him from making any rash movements.
Suddenly, the shiny handcuffs clicked around his wrists.
While squatting on the ground, he could finally see the magnitude of the situation in the night's shadows.
In front of the Green Leaf Ceramic Factory's office building, there was a group of fully armed police officers standing in formation, dressed sharply, their faces resolute, their hands gripping dazzling and intimidating weapons, energetic and alert.
The night air at the ceramic factory was filled with tension.
Shit!
Old Wolf had never anticipated a police ambush that evening; at this moment, he was mentally cursing Liu Qing and President Li dozens of times over.
At this very moment, Liu Qing and President Li were trembling with fear.
On hearing the sirens and seeing the silhouettes of the police in the flashing lights outside the window, their faces were struck with an intense look of horror.
