In the live stream.
Zhao Xiaoli was professionally trained, with occupational etiquette, and she treated every competitor with respect, even if Lin Chuan’s claim of the "Remote Box-type Rocket Launcher" being able to "hit targets accurately within a 600-kilometer range" was an exaggeration, she maintained a polite smile:
"Comrade Lin Chuan, hello. Currently, the cutting edge of long-range rocket launchers has a range of about 300 kilometers, are you sure your rocket launcher can reach 600 kilometers?"
Zhao Xiaoli kindly reminded him.
She had expected Lin Chuan to realize the "600 kilometers" figure was way too overstated, yet to her surprise, on the right side of the live stream, Lin Chuan actually nodded slightly and emphasized two words: "Certain."
Zhao Xiaoli pursed her lips slightly.
She could imagine what the viewers, watching the judges, were discussing in the live stream.
But, it didn’t matter.
After all, in a competition, there should always be a few contestants livening up the atmosphere and adding to the show effect, otherwise, it would be too boring.
"Now, please demonstrate your weapon."
Zhao Xiaoli raised her right hand, signaling Lin Chuan to show the rocket launcher.
"Alright."
Lin Chuan smiled lightly. As he continuously experienced new professions, and various virtual lives, in a sense, his experiences were so vast it was dizzying.
This small scene didn’t scare him at all.
He was composed as he adjusted the camera angle, and a rocket launcher model over one meter tall appeared beside him.
Lin Chuan was in the living room.
Under the golden light, the model of the Remote Box-type Rocket Launcher, clad in "silver armor," shone with a touch of golden luster.
Its body was made of precisely assembled alloy components. On top, it had neat rows of launch tubes facing upwards, pointing to the sky, and a silver box on the bottom, where the concealed barrel was housed.
Its only flaw was that its base was not perfected.
In Lin Chuan’s design, its base should be connected to a heavy-duty off-road truck, so in the model, he didn’t include the off-road truck.
As soon as the model appeared on the screen, the audience in the live chat began voicing their opinions:
[You know, this guy’s model looks pretty realistic.]
[He’s definitely got the skills; it should be able to launch rockets, right?]
[600 kilometers is just his way to attract attention, web novel writers sure know how to play with gimmicks.]
[Isn’t that just hanging a sheep’s head and selling dog meat?]
[Rocket launchers aren’t as simple as you think!]
As the saying goes, laymen watch for fun, while professionals look for the technicalities.
Zhao Xiaoli’s expression flickered ever so slightly. Regarding Lin Chuan’s rocket launcher model, she involuntarily leaned forward to get her line of sight as close to the screen in the studio as possible for a clearer view of the model’s details.
This model was very well done. Find your next read at мѵʟ
Lin Chuan then began to introduce: "The long-range rocket launcher I’ve designed uses a box-type structure, with its main feature being the modular fire unit design."
Zhao Xiaoli’s eyebrows raised slightly, noting the contestant’s expertise, and she asked, "Could you explain in more detail about the modular fire unit design?"
"Of course."
Being cooperative as a contestant, Lin Chuan explained, "That is to say, this rocket launcher can launch different calibers of ammunition by switching out different launch modules, achieving varying ranges."
Zhao Xiaoli’s brow furrowed slightly, "What calibers of ammunition can your rocket launcher be equipped with, and what are their corresponding ranges?"
Lin Chuan was very familiar with rocket launchers and responded fluently:
"The ’300mm guided rocket’, which can reach up to 70 kilometers, the ’370mm rockets’, which have a range of 370 kilometers, and finally, the ’750mm tactical ballistic missile’, which can reach as far as 600 kilometers."
Zhao Xiaoli’s pupils constricted.
Others might not be well-versed in these rocketry terms, but how could she not be familiar?
Her specialty was "weapon launch engineering".
Rocketry was her field of expertise.
Seeing Lin Chuan’s effortless responses, for a moment, she felt the illusion that this contestant might indeed be capable of designing rocket launchers.
She took a deep breath.
Her professionalism was high; exhaling slowly, she inquired, "Does your design include the 750mm tactical ballistic missile you mentioned?"
Lin Chuan nodded again, "Yes, but my current circumstances do not allow me to produce it. However, I can send you the blueprints."
"First, introduce your design for the 750mm tactical ballistic missile."
Zhao Xiaoli’s breathing quickened slightly as she gazed seriously at Lin Chuan.
She began to drop her initial skepticism.
In her heart, she felt a twinge of regret.
It could have been the "600 kilometers of accurate hitting capability," or it could have been the label "web novel writer." These different factors almost made Zhao Xiaoli completely disbelieve Lin Chuan’s "rocket launcher."
But through their conversation.
She realized Lin Chuan was at ease, with a determined look in his eyes and an aura of confidence that emerged naturally.
So, her "disbelief" wavered!
It could even be said to have collapsed!
Even if Lin Chuan’s rocket launcher couldn’t achieve accurate hits within a 600-kilometer range, he could very well be a talent in the field of rocket launchers!
Talent should not be looked down upon.
Lin Chuan certainly noticed the subtle change in Zhao Xiaoli and a smile appeared on his face as he described, "The ’tactical ballistic missile’ I’ve designed comes with a high-precision guidance system, divided into an active phase and a passive phase. The active phase is guided by the propelling device, flying according to a predetermined program, while the passive phase operates on inertial flight..."
"If you want your 750mm tactical ballistic missile to achieve precise hits over 600 kilometers, what about your propulsion system?"
