The vehicle parked next to the phone store was a heavy motorcycle.
The muscle lines of its dark body resembled a ferocious tiger charging down from the mountains, conveying a sense of unstoppable might.
Lin Chuan's face looked somewhat unnatural.
To his embarrassment, he wasn't very familiar with heavy motorcycles.
"Shopkeeper, I'm a anti-fraud police officer from Anling City in Han River Province, and we're currently facing an emergency case. I need to temporarily requisition your vehicle."
At that moment, Shen Qianqian had already shown her work ID to the shopkeeper and spoke.
In some scenic areas, police officers are granted free access, which is why Shen Qianqian and Xia Qingqing brought their work IDs—never expecting that they would come in handy here.
Upon realizing they were police officers, the shopkeeper immediately stood up with an enthusiastic smile on his face.
"Officer, let me get the keys for you."
Before Lin Chuan could even consider who would ride the heavy motorcycle, he saw Shen Qianqian lift her skirt slightly, swing her leg over, and sit on the motorcycle with quick, practiced movements; she started it, twisted the throttle, all in one fluid motion.
The deep roar, like the sound of the wind, burst forth from the exhaust, and with the rhythm of the roaring engine, Shen Qianqian brought the black heavy motorcycle to a halt in front of Lin Chuan.
"Get on."
Shen Qianqian put on her helmet and tilted her head towards Lin Chuan. Her demeanor was somewhat valiant and heroic.
At this critical juncture.
Lin Chuan did not hesitate, straddled the motorcycle, put on the helmet he was passed, and sat behind Shen Qianqian. At the same time, he didn't forget to instruct Xia Qingqing, "Qingqing, follow the method I just used and hack into other people's phones to check their personnel structure and equipment situation."
In the phone store, Xia Qingqing nodded earnestly, "Don't worry, I'll take care of the rear."
She was an excellent Cyber Police officer. Under the influence of Lin Chuan's book "Hacker Kingdom," her computer skills became increasingly proficient.
Lin Chuan had also solved the most difficult part of the technical problem just before.
The rest of it was well within her capabilities.
As for the safety of Shen Qianqian and Lin Chuan, Xia Qingqing was very concerned, but with the fraud gang having swindled 12 people, someone had to step up.
"Hold on tight, sit steady," Shen Qianqian said, slightly tilting her head back.
"Okay."
Lin Chuan thought no more of it and wrapped his arms around Shen Qianqian's slender waist.
To accelerate on a heavy motorcycle, the rider needs to lower their center of gravity. If Lin Chuan didn't hold onto Shen Qianqian, it could greatly affect her riding.
Moreover, they had no other thoughts in mind.
All they wanted was to rush to Old Bai's location and rescue Old Bai along with the twelve people who had been scammed.
"Let's go."
Whoosh—
The black heavy motorcycle buzzed loudly, racing off swiftly like a cheetah, leaving a long trail on the quiet streets of Lincang, which quickly returned to calm.
"Be safe."
Xia Qingqing watched as the two disappeared from sight and murmured just that before turning back into the store to continue her battle with the computer.
Whoosh—
Xia Qingqing took a deep breath, and her shoulder-length short hair swayed gently.
Immediately after.
Her gaze turned focused, and she quickly got into work mode.
In the virtual network, she was an excellent support for Lin Chuan and Shen Qianqian.
With information from network base stations and IP address positions, she swiftly hacked into one of the fraud gang's phones, just like Lin Chuan did, without anyone noticing.
She browsed through photo galleries and checked information.
Even turned on cameras and eavesdropped.
The computer in the phone store wasn't high-end, but the operations executed were top-notch.
"Lin Chuan, they're planning to transport a batch of goods at four o'clock in the afternoon, pretending it's just cargo. They will take the county road 1768. What's your current speed?"
Xia Qingqing started a call with Lin Chuan, professionally conveying information.
"We're at 103 km/h right now," Lin Chuan replied, sitting in the back seat rushing down Lincang's highway. Thankfully he had brought earphones; otherwise, the rushing wind alone would have made it difficult for him to hear Xia Qingqing's words clearly.
"At that speed, you're expected to intersect them on the road between Stone Cliff Bay and Ten Mile Corridor. They have two silver mid-sized trucks; license plates are Yunnan SK1804 and Yunnan SK9123," Xia Qingqing informed Lin Chuan.
"Received," Lin Chuan acknowledged.
"Also, there are 15 of them, 13 men and 2 women, all well-built, equipped with iron rods and knives. The good news is that there are no firearms." Xia Qingqing clarified their details one by one.
"Good, it's much easier to handle without guns."
Lin Chuan's lips curled up slightly. He had thought that the skills acquired from the 'Assassin Professional Life Experience' in reality would hardly be put to use.
Unexpectedly, he had to play a big game this time to rescue his own reader.
However, since Old Bai, as his Alliance Hierarch and true fan, was in trouble, and he as the author, could he just stand by and do nothing?
If he just let Old Bai fall into the hands of the fraud gang and was also sent into the park, wouldn't the fan group explode in outrage?
No way!
He had to give his readers a strong sense of security!
Old Bai, don't worry.
I'm on my way!
Meanwhile.
The Lincang Police responded rapidly after receiving the report and dispatched officers immediately.
Moreover, they sent two other officers to the phone store to make contact with Xia Qingqing.
Director Zhang from Anling Police Station had already communicated with Lincang Police.
The two sides coordinated in solving the case.
"Comrade, hello."
"I am Zhao Dong from the Lincang Criminal Police Brigade."
"I am Chen Xi."
In a mobile phone shop on the streets of Lincang, two police officers in uniform walked into the store, looked at Xia Qingqing, and greeted her.
"Hello, comrades. I am Officer Xia Qingqing from the Anling City Cyber Police Unit."
Xia Qingqing quickly responded.
Immediately, both sides delved into discussing the case.
The Lincang Police also needed to understand more detailed information to help the rescue team execute the operation better.
"From what I've gathered, there are 15 of them, 13 men and 2 women, armed with iron rods and knives, no firearms, two trucks..." Xia Qingqing shared everything she knew with the two detectives from Lincang.
The two detectives quickly provided feedback.
Additionally, Lincang detective Zhao Dong asked, "Officer Xia, the two comrades who are en route to the rescue, are they both detectives?"
Xia Qingqing looked at the detective from Lincang and shook her head, "One of them is an anti-fraud police officer with criminal investigation experience, but the other is not a police officer; he is... a writer."
Zhao Dong had a square face and stood about 180 cm tall.
Upon hearing Xia Qingqing's words, his brow furrowed immediately, and he exchanged a glance with his colleague Chen Xi, then said, "An anti-fraud officer paired with a writer, that's too dangerous!"
"Yes!"
The female detective Chen Xi immediately added her voice, "Comrade Xia, please contact them immediately and ask them to return. We do not wish for any of our comrades to fall!"
An anti-fraud officer with criminal investigation experience was capable of carrying out the mission.
But the other one...
A writer?
What help could a writer possibly be?
Logically speaking, indeed so.
Moreover, both Shen Qianqian and Lin Chuan were unarmed; how could they withstand two medium-sized trucks and 13 strong men?
It was too risky!
Lincang, a border town, was all too familiar with the fraud rings from the Myanmar area to the two detectives.
Locals were not involved in fraud.
However, outsiders could be deceived to come here for illegal border crossing.
And these fraud rings could be said to be utterly devoid of humanity, without a trace of emotion.
Shen Qianqian and Lin Chuan were headed there.
Even if Shen Qianqian identified herself as a police officer, the fraud ring was unlikely to believe her.
"They're very determined, and I think they won't engage in a direct confrontation. They just need to stall them until your Criminal Police Brigade arrives on the scene; that would be mission accomplished," Xia Qingqing said, shaking her head.
Zhao Dong and Chen Xi exchanged a look, their expressions becoming solemn, "To stall them is easier said than done. These criminals only respect money, not life. It's too reckless for that writer."
"I have confidence in him," Xia Qingqing pursed her lips, a sense of determination in her eyes.
For some reason,
she always felt like Lin Chuan had endless treasures within him that could never be fully explored.
Sometimes, she even had an illusion.
She would believe that the scenarios and techniques described in Lin Chuan's novels could also be accomplished by him in reality.
It was an absurd notion.
But somehow, it seemed to happen in real life.
For instance, when AW conducted a large-scale hack, Lin Chuan was able to reproduce the 'Flying Red Flag' from the "Hacker Kingdom".
It was absurd and yet felt so real.
This feeling was indescribable.
This was also why she believed Lin Chuan could hold off the fraud ring.
"Officer Xia, you in Anling City might not have witnessed the methods of the fraud rings from the Myanmar factories; they are extremely brutal. Once caught, at best, one becomes a tool for fraud, at worst, they are turned into actual 'pigs', sold from one factory to another until they are of no use anymore," Zhao Dong sighed deeply, his expression turning grave as he spoke.
With a sigh,
Xia Qingqing pursed her lips, "Comrade Zhao, don't worry about that. Writer Lin Chuan is quite knowledgeable about anti-fraud tactics and familiar with the factory areas. He wouldn't undertake something he wasn't sure about."
Zhao Dong, still worried, noted the situation,
"I will report this to the higher-ups for now, and they will communicate with Anling Police Station. Hopefully, both the anti-fraud officer and the writer will know their limits. We, too, will do everything we can to reach the site as quickly as possible."
"Alright."
Xia Qingqing nodded and continued to monitor the movements of the fraud ring so she could keep Lin Chuan informed at any moment.
About five minutes later.
'Ring, ring, ring—'
Xia Qingqing's phone rang.
The caller display showed: Director Zhang.
"Hello, Director Zhang. Do you have any instructions?" Xia Qingqing answered the call and immediately asked.
On the other end of the phone,
Director Zhang Biao tried to calm his emotions, "Qingqing, first tell me, is it true that Lin Chuan and Shen Qianqian went to intercept a fraud ring?"
"Yes," Xia Qingqing replied.
Upon hearing the confirmation, Director Zhang Biao in his office gripped the phone, his hand trembling.
Comrade Lin,
how could you take such a risk?
You are a top-tier cybersecurity talent worth at least ten large-scale network security companies!
Someone personally protected by Elder Zhong!
If you fell into the hands of those fraudsters, it would be a significant loss for the entire Anling, even the whole Han River Province!
