Chapter 63 “Hacker Kingdom”, It Shouldn’t be a Crime, Right?
Lin Chuan and his two companions’ faces brightened.
Zhang Xinxin’s slightly chubby face instantly beamed with a touch of pride, her phoenix eyes curving into crescents, “Uncle, our 720 Studio is stronger than Jintang, right?”
Zhang Ren gave a thumbs up and smiled, “Xinxin, you’ve found a very strong startup partner.”
The Little Landlady lifted her chin, “Of course my master is strong, do I get a little credit too?”
“A little bit.”
Zhang Ren looked at his slightly proud niece and held up a small piece the size of a fingernail.
The Little Landlady pouted.
Everyone laughed heartily.
In the small office, the air was filled with joy.
With the Little Landlady present, the partnership details were discussed most amicably.
The cooperative matters discussed by both parties included configuring firewall protection programs, routine server security maintenance, regular security checks, emergency fault handling, virus and malware protection, and other details.
Finally, the two parties agreed that 720 Studio would provide comprehensive network security protection for Forbidden Summit Esports Internet Cafe at a fee of 15,000/month, with a one-month trial.
Zhang Ren was pleased with the outcome.
Because.
Forbidden Summit is a large-scale internet cafe with over two hundred computers.
Previously, when cooperating with Jintang Network Security Company, the monthly expenditure on network security maintenance was as high as 20,000.
Two weeks ago, over the weekend.
‘Forbidden Summit’ faced an attack by overseas hackers, and their servers were paralyzed for two days, resulting in losses far exceeding 20,000.
And now 720 Studio was offering network security protection for just 15,000/month.
Lower costs, higher technical expertise, and stronger protection.
It was a win-win for both sides.
“Pleasure doing business.”
Lin Chuan and Zhang Ren shook hands, while the Little Landlady took a commemorative photo.
That very afternoon.
Lin Chuan stayed at Forbidden Summit Internet Cafe to carry out a series of technical arrangements.
Li Qing, the only employee of the studio, followed Lin Chuan closely, diligently learning the technology.
The night grew deeper.
The neon lights of Qingxiu District in Anling City lit up one by one, the high-rises adorned with lights just beginning to shine, the whole city sparkled like a magnificent galaxy laid upon the earth.
The evening breeze blew, gently swaying the lush greenery, which rustled like a whisper under the night sky.
After dinner, more people started to arrive at Forbidden Summit Internet Cafe.
Li Qing was still learning the technology.
The Little Landlady was nestled in the small office.
Surprisingly, she wasn’t sneaking peeks at videos; instead, she was repeatedly calculating the costs and revenue of 720 Studio with a calculator.
As for Lin Chuan.
Wang Zikai had invited him to team up for gaming in the afternoon.
After fussing around all afternoon and enjoying a rarely leisurely moment, Lin Chuan hadn’t gamed for a long time.
So, he booked a private room in advance.
Five computers, exclusively for gaming, all high-spec.
But the most luxurious spec was the teammates he would be gaming with.
The teammates?
Wang Zikai said he would bring people over.
Lin Chuan could guess with his toes that he would surely invite Shen Qianqian to join the game.
However, Lin Chuan had no aversion to Shen Qianqian.
Since the last case investigation and the meal together, Lin Chuan had not seen the cool and glamorous Shen Qianqian, only the sweet version of her.
After all.
Lin Chuan now had no criminal suspicions against him, and Shen Qianqian no longer had to maintain an attitude reserved for suspects.
The two of them could be considered friends at least.
Lin Chuan was thinking about this.
“Old Lin, I’m here.”
Old Wang entered with a beaming smile, pushing the door open.
Behind him, three girls appeared in succession, causing Lin Chuan some surprise.
Xue Qiqi, Shen Qianqian.
And a girl Lin Chuan didn’t recognize.
Lin Chuan really wanted to ask Old Wang, wouldn’t Qiqi get jealous with you bringing so many girls to game together?
“Writer Lin, you finally have some free time?”
Officer Shen greeted Lin Chuan with a full smile.
Today, she was wearing a floral dress, her delicate oval face, pert nose, and picturesque eyes underlined by her long black hair draped over her shoulders, as sweet as ever.
“Officer Shen isn’t on a case?” Lin Chuan chuckled.
“After the help you gave last time, solving several murder cases in a row, our criminal investigation team has been able to breathe a sigh of relief, and we don’t have to work overtime these days,” Shen Qianqian said with a radiant smile on her face.
“Writer Lin, hello.”
Another girl took the initiative to extend her hand in greeting to Lin Chuan.
“Hello.”
Lin Chuan was slightly taken aback and shook her hand politely.
The girl in front of him was dressed in a white short-sleeved casual shirt, which accentuated her fair and delicate skin. Her short hair fell naturally, and she had the face of a short-haired girl full of pure desire, Yixing.
Shen Qianqian smiled and introduced, “This is my colleague, Xia Qingqing, she also doesn’t have to work overtime tonight.”
Lin Chuan was taken aback.
This short-haired girl was also a criminal police officer?
Originally Xia Qingqing had long ponytailed hair, but due to excessive confrontations with overseas hackers recently, she had no time to take care of it and simply cut it short.
“Oh?”
Lin Chuan’s pupils dilated slightly, surprised again.
My book, is it only being read by those outlaws in the group and the police comrades?
Xia Qingqing explained with a smile, “I came across a live stream promoting your book ‘This Assassin Is Too Professional’ during one of my online patrols. It was me who recommended it to Qianqian. Otherwise, their criminal investigation team would probably still be worrying over cases.”
“That’s true, you were also a key to solving the case,” laughed Shen Qianqian.
“So Officer Xia is Cyber Police,” Lin Chuan remarked somewhat surprised, “Haven’t you folks been really busy recently?”
Xia Qingqing chuckled with pursed lips, “How do you know our Cyber Police have been pretty busy lately?”
“I’ve been following Anling news. There have been numerous attempts by overseas hackers to infiltrate,” Lin Chuan explained.
Xia Qingqing nodded gently, “Yes, but our police department has already begun preliminary cooperation with Jintang Network Security Company, to protect against those overseas hackers, which is why Qianqian and I thought of going out and playing some games tonight.”
At that moment.
Old Wang joined in the conversation, “Officer Xia, Lin Chuan is also quite knowledgeable about network security protection and has even opened his own personal studio.”
Xia Qingqing’s eyes lit up with surprise upon hearing this, “Writer Lin writes well and is also strong in network security?”
As far as she knew.
There was a network security head within Jintang Company who also did part-time writing and was known as ‘the top hacker in the web novel world’.
Xia Qingqing had been rather curious about that.
Now.
She heard that Lin Chuan was quite learned in network security and had opened a personal studio, which surprised her.
The community of web novel writers was indeed a mixed bag... Ah, no, a hiding place for the mighty!
“I’ve dabbled a bit,” Lin Chuan replied with a smile.
Xia Qingqing chuckled, “Would Writer Lin be interested in writing a novel about cyber-technical attack and defense? I’ve been running out of books to read recently.”
Hmm?
Lin Chuan felt a sudden twinge of apprehension, mulling over to himself whether his book ‘Hacker Kingdom,’ which detailed Mr. Lin’s early days as a hacker and his mid-story transformation into a red hacker, wasn’t criminal, was it?
Perhaps he could recommend it to Officer Xia, and if she liked it, wouldn’t that secure a subscribe?
Possibly even a full subscription!
As Lin Chuan pondered.
Wang Zikai chimed in again.
“Officer Xia, Old Lin has recently published a new book called ‘Hacker Kingdom,’ which is all about cyber-technical attack and defense stories.”
