"Among them, the Remote Box-type Rocket Launcher has been our key research project over the past five years," he said, "This is the project proposal from 2018 for our 350-kilometer Remote Box-type Rocket Launcher developed by Sania Weapons Research Company."
Speaking, he picked up a document from the desk.
Not too far away, Lin Chuan, who didn’t have nearsightedness, could see the tabletop and as he flipped open the project proposal, he could also see the glaring red stamp on the back.
The signatory was indeed ’Sania Weapons Research Company.’
After presenting the project proposal, Steve handed it to the presiding judge.
The emergence of the project proposal had some observers in the courtroom slightly surprised, as it dated back to 2018, already six years ago.
Zhang Biao looked at Shen Qianqian beside him, showing a questioning look, as if asking, "Sania started researching the Remote Box-type Rocket Launcher in 2018, when did Lin Chuan start his research?"
He thought Shen Qianqian, being close and on good terms with Lin Chuan, must know some inside information.
Unexpectedly, Shen Qianqian gently shook her head.
She didn’t know at all how Lin Chuan had access to the advanced theories of the Remote Box-type Rocket Launcher. She had been secretly admiring Lin Chuan when they discussed modular new-style rifles.
However, speaking of the timing—
In 2018, Lin Chuan was only 18 years old, right?
She didn’t ponder it further, and Steve continued, "After six years of research, our company has successfully completed and developed the 350-kilometer range Remote Box-type Rocket Launcher this year, achieving the top level in the world."
"But!"
His voice suddenly intensified.
The translator also became animated as he spoke.
"But, we found that Mr. Lin Chuan, in his novel ’Arms Tycoon’, blatantly plagiarized our data on the Remote Box-type Rocket Launcher, and, unfortunately, in the latest 370-kilometer range Rocket Launcher launched by Hass Armed Forces, we sadly discovered extensive data similarities, patent infringement, here is the patent infringement documentation compiled by Sania."
After finishing, he displayed a nearly waist-high thick stack of documents.
It included patents for the guidance system, the power system, and so on, discussed for nearly half an hour until even the translator’s throat was dry.
Just the sight of this large stack of documents was somewhat suffocating.
"After investigation, we confirmed that the weapons obtained by Hass Armed Forces originated from Mr. Lin Chuan’s Toy Factory, thus, we reasonably suspect Mr. Lin Chuan of hacking into Sania Weapons Research Company and stealing our technological achievements."
"As we know, Mr. Lin Chuan also runs a Network Security Company, exceptionally skilled in network technology!"
"For this reason, we carefully initiated an investigation!"
"Indeed, we found that Lin Chuan began infiltrating our company’s internal network in June 2021, carrying out theft of our results! Here are the complete digital traces of Mr. Lin Chuan’s theft against our Sania Weapons Research Company!"
Steve spoke with righteous indignation and emphatic force!
He really produced a complete record of the digital traces, looking very genuine!
If true to Steve’s claims, that Lin Chuan used hacking skills to steal their company’s technological achievements, it would not just be a violation of intellectual property rights, but should be adjudicated as theft.
Such a case value in estimations of 30 billion might mean life-long imprisonment without parole, starting immediately!
Suddenly, the courtroom became noisy.
People were discussing everywhere!
The presiding judge immediately banged the gavel, producing a crisp sound, and the attendees quieted down.
Then Steve made his concluding statement, "Therefore, we solemnly file a lawsuit with the Anling City Court, hoping for a fair and just judgment, demanding Mr. Lin Chuan compensate Sania Weapons Research Company for direct economic losses of 30 billion and bear criminal responsibility."
Steve had finally finished speaking.
Lin Chuan felt as if he had returned to his school days, listening to his math teacher discuss knowledge that seemed as cryptic as a heavenly script, his ears beginning to form calluses.
After listening, all he wanted to say was, "Nonsense!"
In 2021, he had hacked into their company’s intranet to steal technological research achievements?
In June 2021, he had just started entering online literature, just starting to face setbacks; the system hadn’t even awakened then; how could he possibly have stolen those data?
However, this was a courtroom.
Lin Chuan composed himself, refraining from using crude expressions like "nonsense" in such a solemn and respectful place, instead waiting for the presiding judge to give him permission to speak.
The presiding judge turned his gaze to Lin Chuan, "Please state the facts, Defendant Lin Chuan."
At that moment,
Lin Chuan slowly stood up, calm and composed.
First, he greeted the judge and staff with a smile, then turned his attention to Steve and his legal team, wasting no words. Under everyone’s watchful eyes, he picked up a prepared document:
"This is a document from the National Weapons Research Institute on the December 19th launch of a rocket launcher with a range of 600 kilometers, which happened yesterday, model PHL-191 Remote Box-type Rocket Launcher."
As Lin Chuan spoke, he displayed the document to the judge, Steve, and everyone else.
It starkly stated: National Weapons Research Institute’s important notification on the first launch of the PHL-191 Remote Box-type Rocket Launcher (600 kilometers).
Most importantly, there was a red seal at the top of the document, making it impossible to forge.
Or rather, no one would dare to forge it!
Steve and his legal team immediately frowned, eyes locked on the red-sealed document in Lin Chuan’s hands, watching as he flipped through the pages, revealing the red stamp at the bottom.
—National Weapons Research Institute.
However, Steve could not help standing up to question, "This is a document from the National Weapons Research Institute regarding the initial launch of a 600-kilometer model Remote Box-type Rocket Launcher. What does it have to do with you?"
His outburst was immediately checked by the presiding judge.
This statement was out of order.
Lin Chuan simply smiled, "On December 19th, which was yesterday, the 600-kilometer model Remote Box-type Rocket Launcher’s initial launch was very successful, accurately hitting its target. Here is the related video, but due to military secrets, it cannot be disclosed publicly."
Saying this, he handed a CD to the presiding judge.
He continued, "Mr. Steve posed a very good question. This is a document from the National Weapons Research Institute. What does it have to do with me? Be patient for a moment, please see the list of developers on this document."
After obtaining permission from the presiding judge,
Lin Chuan took the document, walked up to Steve, and with a smile flipped to the second page, which prominently listed—
Chief Designer: Lin Chuan.
In the southern winter mornings, they resembled a delicate, tender poem, quietly unfolding between heaven and earth. The horizon gradually brightened with the light of dawn, where night and day intermingled, seeming like nature’s finest brushstrokes, painting a beautifully understated ink wash. A thin mist pervaded the air, gently enveloping the quiet town or bustling city, casting everything in a hazy, mystical veil.
On the streets, one might occasionally see early risers, either wearing light down jackets or wrapped in soft scarves, hurrying along yet maintaining a leisurely pace. Their figures elongated in the morning light, melding with the cold and tranquil dawn, appearing as vivid silhouettes.
The roadside trees, their leaves maybe tinged with notes of deep autumn, displayed shades of yellow and green, much like the sedimentation of time. Occasionally, a few leaves floated gently down, resembling the footsteps of time, moving slowly through the tranquil morning. They danced gracefully through the air, eventually returning to the dust, enriching the soil for the spring flowers.
In the morning light, the food stalls began emitting enticing aromas, with steaming buns, rich soy milk, and tender sticky rice... These familiar scents instantly warmed the chilly morning and awakened dormant taste buds. People gathered together, enjoying a simple yet cozy breakfast. The sounds of conversation and laughter intertwined, like a joyful melody, adding vitality and liveliness to the quiet morning.
