Linyi Cultural Relics Bureau, the temporary office of Archaeological Team Nine.
The morning sunlight, fine as silk, spilled into every corner of the office through the half-open window.
That golden light quietly climbed, coating the office desk, bookshelf, and every pot of green plants with a faint golden glow.
Old Yao watched Qin Sisi walk out of the office, and chuckled, "That Qin, anxious with concern."
He had heard a lot about Lin Chuan and his novels from Qin Sisi.
After all, it was by following the methods described in Lin Chuan's novels that she had guided them to successfully excavate the Seven Stars Lu King Palace.
And they accomplished it in a very short time.
This was much less than the one to three months of survey time they had estimated.
From July 3rd to the 8th, it was only six days, including the time spent on the road.
So, Old Yao had been itching to read this novel for a while, and since he himself wrote archaeological novels, he was even more interested in a fellow writer's tomb-robbing novel.
But more importantly, he wanted to see if Lin Chuan was the tomb robber who escaped from the Seven Stars Lu King Palace.
At this moment.
Outside the window, a gentle breeze wafted in, bringing a hint of chill and the faint scent of flowers. The treetops gently swayed as if playing with the sunlight, occasionally producing a rustling sound.
Old Yao took out his phone, opened the familiar Qihang app, and typed "Touch Gold Notes." Lin Chuan's novel immediately popped up.
——"Touch Gold Notes."
——Author: Mr. Lin.
"Mr. Lin, this name sounds... like a suspect?"
Old Yao joked half-heartedly.
However, he didn't rush into the text of "Touch Gold Notes" immediately.
He habitually read the comments section first.
[Criminal! Suspect Mr. Lin gave up being an assassin or hacker and switched to tomb robbing!]
[Please, Mr. Lin, give it up, the outside is swarming with police!]
[This is a notebook, not fiction!]
[One word from you, one word from me, Mr. Lin will end up in jail eventually!]
[Whoa, Mr. Lin is about to step on the sewing machine!]
[Amazing, Mr. Lin can be more focused on writing novels in jail!]
One after another, peculiar comments entered Old Yao's view.
Old Yao furrowed his brows, unsure what to say, finally muttering to himself, "Why do they all call Mr. Lin a suspect?"
He hadn't even started reading the novel, and the label of 'suspect' was already attached to Lin Chuan?
Huh—
Old Yao took a deep breath, decided not to let these comments affect him, left the comments section, and clicked into the main text of the novel.
'My family has a legacy of tomb robbing.'
'But my father did not inherit my grandfather's tomb-robbing skills, instead, it was my Third Uncle who became the widely known Touch Gold Captain.'
'I have no skills in tomb robbing either, having inherited an antique shop, and thought I would have nothing to do with 'tomb robbing' at all in the future.'
'However, the appearance of a silk manuscript changed my life.'
'From then on, I became a Touch Gold Captain and began my life as a tomb raider.'
Old Yao, also a novel writer, started reading and his brows furrowed again: "Tomb robbing from a first-person perspective, this immersiveness is strong."
Immediately afterward.
He added another comment: "Indeed, if it's from the perspective of someone with firsthand experience, writing in the first person would be more realistic than the third person omniscient point of view, eh? Why would I think that?"
Old Yao suddenly paused, clearly influenced by the comments he had just read.
He shook his head and continued reading.
Old Yao read quickly, and in no time, he went from 'Mr. Lin practices Double Finger Probe' and 'preparation of equipment' to 'depart to Qilu' and 'venture into the Taiyi Mountain Range.'
Until 'Third Uncle's dragon-seeking and positioning,' they arrived at Gourd Mouth.
'After a long walk, we finally came to an area shaped like a gourd.'
'I looked around.'
'In the distance, there were five mountain ranges, rising steeply, one after another, with the last range's peak bulging at the center.'
'At Gourd Mouth, there was a waterfall about ten meters high. Below the waterfall was a small stone pond; the stony shore snaked around, covered in moss, and beside it stood a withered old tree struck by lightning.'
'I told Third Uncle that this was the Dragon Head and that the tomb was underneath.'
'But Third Uncle shook his head, beginning to explain.'
'This place is still far from the main tomb. According to the method of dragon-seeking and positioning, this is indeed the Dragon Head, but it's a False Dragon Head.'
'The designer of this tomb chamber was also a master of dragon-seeking, creating this trap specifically to lure tomb raiders.'
'I guess, below is a fake tomb chamber, full of traps. Anyone who enters it will probably never come out.'
Old Yao's eyes sharpened, his pupils narrowing slightly.
He had thought the details Qin Sisi knew from the novel were just the basic steps.
But he never imagined they would be so detailed.
Gourd Mouth, Little Stone Pond, Lightning-Struck Wood, False Dragon Head...
Which means.
If it weren't for their Archaeological Team Nine setting off first, other archaeological workers could also follow this novel to rob the tomb?
No, that's not right!
It seems just about anyone, if they followed the steps described, could find the Seven Stars Lu King Palace.
Old Yao swallowed hard.
At this point, he had to put down his phone and pick up his thermos for a sip of water to calm his nerves.
After a brief moment to collect himself.
He picked up his phone to read again.
The novel described in detail.
——After bypassing Gourd Mouth, walk northwest for about a kilometer, and you will see a small stream below the mountain; another three kilometers, and there is a lake, then ascend to a high point, and you will see 'streams winding around, five dragons converging'; that is the real Dragon Head, the location of the Seven Stars Lu King Palace.
