Chapter 59 Hiss, this author is really a Hacker huh
Li Qing rose from the flower bed under the Jintang Network Security Company building, headed to the bus station, and boarded the number 13 bus.
His rental place was in an old neighborhood of the City East District.
Sitting on the hard bus seat, Li Qing scrolled through his phone and tapped into the QQ group titled ‘Everyone has a Responsibility to Follow the Law’.
‘My new book “Hacker Kingdom” has been released!’
‘Who says only those in the light are the heroes!’
Li Qing’s gaze landed on the link sent by Lin Chuan, and his brows shot up, emitting a light “Huh?”
“Huh?”
“The author released a new book, and it’s about hackers?”
His major in college was Computer Information Security Technology, and his greatest aspiration was to establish his own network security company and build his own virtual kingdom.
As it turned out.
For most ordinary people, aspirations are just aspirations.
Forget about starting a network security company, even joining one was challenging.
“Hacker Kingdom, sounds pretty interesting by the name,” Li Qing murmured to himself and casually clicked on the link.
QQ redirected to Sailing Novel.
The world of “Hacker Kingdom” slowly unfolded before Li Qing’s eyes.
‘I am a hacker.’
‘Someone who lurks in the shadows, shunned by the light.’
‘I have battled with countless top-notch hackers from abroad, and they, without exception, have all been defeated by me.’
Immediately, Li Qing’s eyebrows lifted slightly as he shifted in his seat, securing his checked shirt with one hand while holding his phone with the other.
“Mr. Lin’s personal writing style is too distinct,” he said.
“First-person narrative, strong sense of immersion, it feels like reading the author’s autobiography.”
“This hacker theme is right up my alley.”
Li Qing’s lips curled up slightly as he mumbled a few words to himself.
He continued reading.
‘In the virtual world of the internet, I am the absolute king!’
‘Countless people have tried to challenge my position, only to fail.’
‘I stand at the pinnacle of the cyberworld, looking down upon my Hacker Kingdom.’
‘There, it is filled with bright red flags.’
‘Billowing in the wind.’
At this point.
Li Qing’s pupils shook, and two words slipped out: “Red Hacker!”
Since he started touching the internet and became a computer enthusiast, the term ‘Red Hacker’ had been deeply etched in his heart.
In several massive international hacking wars, the presence of Red Hackers was noted.
The most exhilarating one was when even on the webpage of a white palace, one could see the red flags fluttering in the wind.
Every time he recalled such events, Li Qing only regretted being born a few years too late to participate.
It was quite a pity.
However, reading these two words in Lin Chuan’s “Hacker Kingdom,” Li Qing felt rejuvenated.
His interest intensified.
It could be said that he was the most precise target audience for “Hacker Kingdom.”
Swallowing saliva, Li Qing then immersed himself in Lin Chuan’s novelistic world.
‘My surname is Lin.’
‘A hacker will not reveal their real name.’
‘For now, just call me Mr. Lin.’
‘I first encountered the internet in a dark alley’s illegal internet cafe.’
‘At that time, I didn’t know that crimes could be committed on the internet.’
‘Until, I logged into the dark web.’
‘What you need to know is that the internet has multiple layers, and the ‘surface web’ is what ordinary people access and browse through standard search engines.’
‘Beneath the surface web lies the ‘deep web’.’
‘The dark web is a subset of the deep web.’
‘There, you’ll see a different world, one that may overturn all your understandings.’
“So, I advise you to never entertain the idea of venturing into the dark web.”
In City East District, Bus 13 arrived at the station.
Li Qing got off the bus and sat down on a bench next to the bus stop, his gaze fixed on the mobile phone screen.
The text of “Hacker Kingdom” was still in his sight.
“Back to the matter at hand.”
“I remember that day very clearly.”
“In that tiny internet café, filled with the pungent smell of smoke, a rough-looking guy next to me was shirtless, his body odor drilling into my nostrils as he played World of Warcraft, using a priest character, and pinching his voice to shout, ‘Brother, I’ll heal you’.”
“I couldn’t stand it and switched to a different computer.”
“It was a corner spot, where no one paid attention to me.”
“In this corner of the internet café, I installed a software named ‘**’ and typed in a 16-character URL.”
“The URL was valid.”
“I continued, installing a VPN, using multiple network jumps, and successfully logged into the dark web.”
“From that moment on, my life’s trajectory began to deviate.”
“Because, on there, I saw...”
Li Qing became more and more captivated as he read, deeply immersed in the novel.
In the novel.
A series of highly professional hacker maneuvers unfolded before Li Qing’s eyes.
Although it wasn’t a complete display of maneuvers, as someone specialized in computer information security, Li Qing could fully appreciate the cutting-edge technology and was thoroughly shocked!
So much so that he occasionally muttered to himself.
“This feels too much like a real-life experience.”
“This is incredible, no wonder Mr. Lin dared to write this!”
“The author must be a top-notch hacker!”
“Hmm, how come there’s a studio here?”
In the book review section.
Li Qing suddenly spotted an advertisement.
“720 Network Security Studio, taking orders online!”
“Solving system vulnerabilities, countering external hacker invasions, defending against virus destruction... professionally handling all kinds of network security issues.”
“Contact information: ***********”
“Posted by: Mr. Lin (author).”
Li Qing’s mind stirred, and he took a deep breath, “Sss, is this author really a hacker!?”
Such a top-notch hacker running a studio?
He should be making a fortune, right?
Li Qing looked at the contact number again. This sequence, it looks like it’s from a local?
Yes!
The author, Mr. Lin, is from Anling City; he has helped the Anling Police with a case before.
Li Qing’s mind suddenly became active, and a bold idea took root and began to germinate in his heart.
So.
Li Qing exited the novel page, entered the call screen, dialed the number, and called the contact for the 720 studio.
Dudududu—
“Hello, 720 Studio is happy to serve you.”
A crisp female voice came from the phone.
The person answering the call was Lin Chuan’s apprentice, Little Landlady.
Since registering the studio, Little Landlady had learned a lot from Lin Chuan, but unfortunately, her talent wasn’t that strong. Lin Chuan arranged for her to become the customer service for 720 Studio, specifically to answer calls and handle orders.
Just that they hadn’t officially opened for business yet.
“Hello, may I ask if this is the studio opened by Mr. Lin?” Li Qing asked politely.
“Mr. Lin? Ah, yes, that’s right, are you experiencing any network problems?” On the other end of the call, Zhang Xinxin was thrilled to hear someone calling.
They were finally going to open for business.
“Uh, I’m not having any network issues; I was wondering if your studio is hiring?” Li Qing asked a bit nervously.
“Hiring?”
Zhang Xinxin was surprised, “I’ll have to ask my master about that!”
