Lin Jiang took a step forward, cornering Fang Jie against the wall. Her heart pounded, and she didn’t dare to look into his eyes.
"What are you doing...?"
"Nothing, really. I just wanted to be a little closer to you."
Fang Jie kept her head lowered, her own heartbeat thudding in her ears.
Lin Jiang placed his hand on Fang Jie’s waist.
With just that simple touch, Fang Jie felt a tingling sensation spread through her entire body.
She didn’t know why. Often, Lin Jiang would do nothing more than touch her lightly, yet her body would react as if zapped by electricity, her limbs weakening uncontrollably.
Lin Jiang’s hand slowly moved down, coming to rest on her bottom before giving it a few gentle squeezes.
"Stop fooling around, this is a bathroom..."
Not only had her body gone weak, but Fang Jie’s voice had also grown soft.
It sounded like a rejection, but it was more like a coy invitation.
He gave her a firm squeeze. "But aren’t you the one who brought me here?"
Fang Jie’s delicate face was so flushed it looked dewy. She already had little resistance to the way he was dressed, and a slight tilt of her head brought his chiseled jawline and Adam’s apple into view, making it nearly impossible for her to control herself.
"You devil..." Fang Jie’s voice trembled.
"How am I a devil? You’d better explain yourself."
"I won’t."
Standing on her tiptoes, Fang Jie tilted her head back and offered him a kiss.
Her hands roamed over his body, then undid his zipper...
...
[You have completed a silent battle. Physique +1]
When they left the bathroom, Fang Jie’s steps were unsteady. It was almost comical, like someone who had never worn high heels and had forgotten how to walk after putting them on.
"And you’re laughing. This is all your fault."
Fang Jie clung tightly to Lin Jiang’s arm. After being swept up in his storm for over half an hour, she could barely stand on her own.
"Have you been slacking on your workouts? I feel like your stamina has gotten worse."
"I have been working out, okay? I think you’re the one who’s gotten stronger."
Fang Jie chided, "I’m tempted to take it off and see if you’ve got a motor in there. You’re not even a little bit tired."
"Can’t be helped. It’s ’cause I’m young."
"Go on and be smug. In a few years, you won’t be so cocky."
As a married woman, Sister Fang knew very well what a man’s ’combat power’ was like at different stages of life.
Lin Jiang was young, so his stamina was naturally high—so high that a woman in her thirties like herself was powerless to resist him.
’But in a few more years, his stamina will definitely decline. Then it’ll be my turn to bully him.’
"It’ll be the same in a few years. You’d best not harbor any unrealistic fantasies."
"Keep boasting. I’m only getting stronger while you’re getting weaker. With one of us waxing and the other waning, you’ll never keep up."
Lin Jiang glanced at Fang Jie. "It seems you’re not convinced. The garage isn’t very crowded today. We could find a quiet spot, and I can let you experience the power of a nuclear-powered weapon."
"Yes, yes, you’re just so amazing. I’m no match for you at all."
Fang Jie wore an ambiguous smile, already hatching a little plan of her own.
’Lin Jiang’s stamina was impressive, no doubt about it.’
’But I’m no pushover myself!’
’I’ll find a chance to tease him in a bit!’
’Strike while he’s down!’
’Let’s see if he can still perform then!’
After some more flirting, the two of them headed toward their car.
Just then, they suddenly heard an argument. The voices sounded somewhat familiar.
"Are you trying to avoid this? I think you owe me an explanation!"
"I have nothing to explain! Stop following me!"
Hearing the argument, the two looked over.
To their surprise, the woman arguing was Tang Wan.
Even though she was wearing a mask and sunglasses that concealed her face, they still recognized her.
A man of about the same age followed persistently behind her.
"From the looks of it, that must be her boyfriend."
"Mm."
Fang Jie nodded, letting go of Lin Jiang’s arm as her expression turned serious.
"I remember her saying her boyfriend is also a teacher at the drama academy. But I’ve already reminded her to be careful about her private life."
"Meaning her relationships and potential scandals."
"Exactly. We’re not against her dating, but it can’t be public. Otherwise, it will affect her career."
"Arguing like this in public... if the paparazzi catch it, the exposure won’t just affect her, it’ll affect our movie too."
Fang Jie watched Tang Wan, her expression darkening.
In front of Lin Jiang, she was a passionate, playful woman, but to everyone else, she was an uncompromising career woman.
"You should find time to talk to her about this. If she wants to walk this path, she has to be willing to make certain sacrifices."
"Mm."
The movie had just been released, and since Tang Wan was an unknown before this, she wasn’t very famous yet.
That, combined with the mask and sunglasses, meant that even if any onlookers were watching, no one recognized her.
But once the movie became a hit, something like this would be a real problem.
Tang Wan stormed toward the elevators, but then she felt two pairs of eyes on her.
At first, she thought she had been recognized, but to her surprise, it was Lin Jiang and Fang Jie.
"President Lin, President Fang."
Seeing them, Tang Wan quickly composed herself and walked over, feeling a little sheepish.
Fang Jie had reminded her before to be careful about her private life.
Now, she and Zhang Weidong had been caught arguing by them. This was not good.
"Were you two arguing?"
Tang Wan nodded, not quite daring to meet their eyes.
"Don’t let it happen again. Go home and sort this out. Your career is just beginning. If the paparazzi had caught this, it would have a huge impact on your future."
"I understand, President Fang."
Tang Wan had come today to secretly watch her own movie.
She had seen it during the promotional tour, but the audiences then had all been invited guests.
Now that the movie was officially out with a real audience, she had wanted to see their genuine reactions.
But after what President Fang said, she couldn’t watch it now. She had to go home.
"You must be her bosses."
Tang Wan was about to leave when she saw Zhang Weidong walk toward Lin Jiang, glaring at him with a hostile expression.
Tang Wan panicked.
’In Zhang Weidong’s eyes, Lin Jiang had slept with her that night.’
’He’s definitely coming over to call him to account.’
Fang Jie nodded, a smile on her face.
’Zhang Weidong is no concern of mine, and I have no right to meddle in his affairs.’
’This is something for Tang Wan to handle on her own.’
"We’ll get out of your way."
With that, Fang Jie took Lin Jiang’s arm, ready to leave. But just then, Zhang Weidong spoke up.
"Are you even human?! How could you do something so disgusting? Believe it or not, I’m calling the police right now! I’ll make sure you rot in jail!"
Lin Jiang: ???
’What the hell...?’
Just then, a game prompt appeared.
[Wild Mob Appeared]
[Mob Name: Zhang Weidong]
[Kill Condition: Clear up the misunderstanding]
[Kill Reward: Beating Star x1, 1,000,000 cash]
’The kill condition isn’t written very clearly.’
’But I can guess that this guy, Zhang Weidong, has misunderstood something.’
’Overall, the mission doesn’t seem difficult. Nothing happened between me and Tang Wan, so there’s nothing to be afraid of.’
’Now I just need to figure out exactly what he’s misunderstood.’
’But then again, what the hell is a Beating Star?’
