When he woke up the next day, Li Zhiyi was already gone.
There was a note left beside him.
"I’m off to work! You sleep in a little longer."
It was adorned with a faint lipstick print.
’She left way too early. We didn’t even get to our morning workout.’

’My Affinity with her went up, but she’s not here, so I don’t know if it triggered a main quest or not.’
Muttering to himself, Lin Jiang glanced at his watch. It was already past nine.
’Can’t deny it, a woman ruled by her hormones is a different creature entirely. So much wilder than usual.’
He also had two missed calls and three unread messages from Qin Yangyang.
Qin Yangyang: "I ate nothing yesterday and even exercised, but I still gained two pounds!"
Qin Yangyang: "What is going on?!"
Qin Yangyang: [4-second voice message]
’Heh...’
’A woman ruled by the number on the scale...’
’No, wait. She’s a woman ruled by me.’
He picked up his phone, ready to mock her a little.
Just then, a message came in from Qiu Yunong.
Lin Jiang’s mood instantly plummeted to rock bottom, as if frozen solid by Aokiji’s Ice Age.
Qiu Yunong: "Brother Jiang, has Zhiyi left yet?"
What the hell!
’What is that supposed to mean?!’
In a hurry, Lin Jiang threw on his pajama pants, walked out of his room, and opened the door to Qiu Yunong’s.
Qiu Yunong was lying on the bed, fully dressed. Her hair was a mess, and she had dark circles under her eyes.
"You... you..."
Lin Jiang was so flustered seeing Qiu Yunong that he was tripping over his words.
"You didn’t leave last night?"
"When you sent me that message, I was in the bathroom. I was about to leave right after. By the time I saw the message and went to put on my shoes, I heard the front door open before I could even get them on, so I ran back here."
"So... you heard everything all night?"
"I didn’t want to listen! Zhiyi was so loud I couldn’t sleep at all. Look at my dark circles..."
"Uh..."
For a moment, Lin Jiang didn’t know what to say.
’Making an innocent young woman listen to that stuff all night... must have been really hard on her.’
"Why don’t you go back to sleep for a bit?"
"Brother Jiang, can you order some food for me? I’m going to sleep some more..."
"Sure..."
Lin Jiang quietly closed the door.
’Well...’
’How awkward!’
Lin Jiang didn’t order breakfast right away, deciding to wait until Qiu Yunong woke up.
RING RING RING—
Lin Jiang’s phone rang. It was a call from Qin Yangyang.
"Did you see the messages I sent you?"
"I did. Something came up and I forgot to reply."
"What is going on? You saw me eat that diet meal yesterday morning. For lunch, I had two slices of oatmeal bread, a fried egg, and an apple. I even jumped rope at night. Why did I gain two pounds?"
"What were you wearing when you jumped?"
"Uh... just normal workout clothes."
"I already told you, it’s only effective if you jump rope in a swimsuit. It’s even more effective in your underwear. And if you add in some yoga or something, you’ll lose weight even faster."
"How is that possible? Losing weight has nothing to do with what you wear. That’s not scientific."
"But you lost a pound the night before last and gained two pounds yesterday. That’s all the proof you need."
"I don’t believe you. You must be tricking me. It must be a rebound. I’ll just increase my workout intensity today, and the weight will be gone by tomorrow."
"Then go ahead and try. I look forward to seeing your results."
"Hmph, I will try. You can’t fool me."
After a few more words, Lin Jiang hung up.
He still had over eight million in the Specialized NPC Development Fund. He needed to make a large purchase to cash all that money out.
Buying a house or a car was the best way to do it.
Bored, he lay on the sofa and started browsing for cars.
Considering Chen Jingxian’s lifestyle, an overly expensive luxury car wouldn’t suit her. He finally decided on a GLE, which would be perfect for her daily commute.
A little after eleven, Qiu Yunong came out of her room.
"Sleep well?"
"Mhm... I’m going to go wash up first..."
Qiu Yunong scurried sheepishly into the bathroom. He could tell she still felt a bit awkward.
He ordered some takeout on his phone. By the time Qiu Yunong had washed up and put on her makeup, the food had arrived.
During the meal, Qiu Yunong was very quiet and seemed distracted.
"Eat up. What are you thinking about?"
"You two really go at it. It was already two in the morning and you still weren’t asleep..."
"We were probably just in high spirits yesterday. It’s not like that every day."
"But Zhiyi’s voice... I really didn’t expect that. From what I know of her, I would’ve thought she’d be silent."
"She’s not dead, of course she’s going to make some noise."
"Aiya, I’ve never experienced anything like this, so how would I know..."
"Just eat. Don’t ask about adult matters."
Qiu Yunong went back to eating, her large eyes darting all over the place, no telling what was on her mind.
After they finished eating, the two left the apartment together and drove off in their separate cars.
His mission for the day was to buy the car, but first, he had to check in at Suya Fitness Center.
That way, even if something came up in the evening, he wouldn’t fall behind.
Just two more days of this, and his eight-pack would be secured.
’Absolutely perfect.’
Watching Lin Jiang’s taillights, Qiu Yunong shook her little fists a couple of times.
’You two sure had your fun.’
’Do you have any idea what I went through last night?!’
’It was torture!’
’But Brother Jiang seems really impressive...’
’Otherwise, Zhiyi wouldn’t have been so loud, right?’
「At the Mercedes-Benz dealership.」
"Zhiyi, are your sales numbers down recently? You’ve got such dark circles under your eyes. Been staying up too late and getting stressed?"
Li Zhiyi was washing her hands at the sink in the restroom when a female colleague standing next to her asked.
"Really? I don’t see any dark circles."
