A little over half an hour later, the car arrived at Century Triumph.
He parked the car on the side of the road. To his left, a gentle breeze blew in from the riverbank.
Lin Jiang closed his eyes and took a deep breath. ’The smell of money.’
To his right was the magnificent, stately entrance of Century Triumph, and next to it, the sales office.
Going to buy a property with over a hundred million in hand, he couldn’t help but feel a little excited.
"Tongzi, you think I’ll run into anyone trying to act all high and mighty with me while I’m here?"
"Tongzi, why aren’t you saying anything? Are you naturally quiet?"
"I only used one Bad Luck Card on you, no need to be so petty. If you’re going to be like this, I won’t let you watch the next time Xu Lin and I go for 300 rounds."
He opened the car door, got out, and walked toward the sales office.
The sales office wasn’t as large as he had imagined, but the decor was modern and minimalist, with an elegance revealed in the details.
There weren’t many people looking at properties, which was understandable. After all, this was one of Zhonghai’s top luxury residences. The people who could afford it usually didn’t need to come look, and the people who came to look usually couldn’t afford it.
You can use a five-yuan coupon to buy all sorts of small goods, but you can’t use a five-yuan coupon to buy a Lamborghini.
The few prospective buyers scattered about were all quite young, a mix of men and women.
But judging by their clothes, they didn’t look like rich second-generation kids, more like office workers.
Seeing Lin Jiang enter, a saleswoman stationed at the entrance proactively pulled the door open for him.
"Hello, sir. Are you here to view a property?"
The saleswoman wore a navy-blue suit, her chestnut-colored hair tied in a bun that accentuated the soft curves of her small, oval face.
He had to admit, the sales agents at these top-tier luxury properties were one more stunning than the next.
The female sales consultants at the Mercedes-Benz dealership were a whole level below them. Only Li Zhiyi could hold a candle to the woman before him, Zhao Fangfei.
Lin Jiang nodded in response.
"Have you contacted any of our sales consultants before?"
"No, I haven’t."
"This way, please, sir."
Zhao Fangfei made a welcoming gesture, leading Lin Jiang to the architectural model.
"We currently have two available floor plans in the complex: 298 square meters and 681 square meters. Both come fully furnished. The 298-square-meter unit includes two parking spaces, and the 681-square-meter unit includes three."
Zhao Fangfei spoke crisply and cleanly, her enunciation exceptionally clear, with a hint of a broadcaster’s cadence.
"Additionally, we also have apartment-style units of around 105 square meters available."
Lin Jiang nodded, standing before the model.
’The special property fund is for the 681-square-meter unit, so I don’t have any other choice. What I need to do now is pick a suitable location, one with the best view.’
"Does this building have a 681-square-meter unit? Preferably above the 20th floor," Lin Jiang said, pointing to a building by the river.
"There’s one left on the 24th floor. Would that work? I can take you to see it right now."
"Sure, let’s go."
Zhao Fangfei turned and went to the front desk to get the key.
"Fangfei, you’re so lucky today, getting two handsome guys in a row," a colleague at the reception desk teased.
"Handsome doesn’t pay the bills. Being good-looking can’t be eaten these days. It’s more practical to focus on making money."
"But he came here to look at a property. He can’t be poor."
"That’s not necessarily true. He probably isn’t a rich kid. I’m guessing he’s like the others, just checking out the property for his boss. When you look at it that way, we’re all just working stiffs. Can’t get carried away."
"Bwahaha..."
The female colleague at the reception desk leaned back in her chair and laughed.
"Actually, I think he’s a good catch. Being able to check out properties for his boss at such a young age means he’s a trusted subordinate. Even if he’s not a rich kid, he must be a high-earner. Plus, he’s not bad-looking. You should give it a shot. Go on, go flirt with him a little."
"Why do you always have to twist my words? I don’t know how to do any of that."
"Other women have to turn on the charm to hook a guy, but you’re different. All you have to do is stick your chest out, haha..."
"Oh, get out of here. Give me the key for C2401," Zhao Fangfei said with a laugh, holding out her hand.
"You’re a step too late. Xie Shuang just took the key. If you go now, you should be able to catch them."
"You’re kidding. Her client is interested in that unit too?" Zhao Fangfei’s expression turned a little stiff.
"Building C has the best river view in all of Century Triumph. She’s been pushing it hard recently. You better step it up. The manager position is open, you know. It’ll go to whichever of you has the higher sales numbers."
"Then I better hurry. I’m off, bye."
Zhao Fangfei turned and walked back to Lin Jiang’s side.
"Please follow me, sir."
"Alright."
The two of them exited through the back door, and Zhao Fangfei led Lin Jiang toward Building C.
The landscaping in the complex was beautiful, complete with pavilions, waterside gazebos, an artificial lake, and rockeries—everything one could ask for. Looking out, it resembled a classical garden.
No wonder a single unit could sell for over a hundred million; the scenery alone was worth a fortune.
"Mr. Chen, we’ll continue to communicate with the police over in the Beautiful Country about this case, but it might drag on for a while."
As they walked, Zhao Fangfei was describing the property’s details, and Lin Jiang was listening attentively.
Just then, he heard voices coming from a small path nearby. They sounded a little familiar.
"It doesn’t matter if it takes a long time, as long as we can recover the money."
"This case is very complex. We will do our best."
"As long as you do your best. I have other things to attend to at my company, let’s talk later."
"Alright."
Lin Jiang turned his head and was surprised to see that the person speaking was Qin Yangyang.
She was wearing a dark cyan skirt with a white blouse that had a bow at the chest. The overall look was clean and sharp, which fit her professional demeanor.
As if sensing his gaze, Qin Yangyang looked over. When she saw Lin Jiang, her eyes widened in surprise.
’What is he doing here?’
Qin Yangyang suddenly remembered that during dinner yesterday, Lin Jiang had mentioned he was coming here to look at a property.
’Is he actually going to buy a place?’
’The question is, can a noodle shop owner really afford a place in Century Triumph?’
’He probably couldn’t even afford the 200-plus-square-meter unit.’
’If he could really afford it, he wouldn’t need to be running a noodle shop.’
Their eyes met, and Lin Jiang smiled and gave a small wave.
Since there was some distance between them, Lin Jiang didn’t intend to speak; the wave was his greeting.
’It’s necessary to maintain a certain distance. If I just scampered over to say hi, it would make me look a bit low-class.’
Qin Yangyang, on the other hand, had wanted to come over and chat with Lin Jiang, but he clearly had no such intention, so she couldn’t very well just impose herself on him.
Staring at Lin Jiang’s departing back, Qin Yangyang’s mind was filled with question marks.
’Is he really just a noodle shop owner?’
’Could it be a national noodle shop chain?’
Shaking her head, Qin Yangyang decided not to dwell on it.
The case she was working on was more important. She still had to go to the property management office to get some information and couldn’t afford to waste time.
Meanwhile, Lin Jiang and Zhao Fangfei got on the elevator.
"Sir, our elevators are configured for two lifts per household, so even if multiple people are going up, your time won’t be wasted," Zhao Fangfei explained.
"Many celebrities and business leaders have purchased homes here. On a residential level, we are extremely mindful of our buyers’ privacy. Food delivery and couriers are not allowed in, so you can rest completely assured on that front."
Lin Jiang pursed his lips.
’Food delivery can’t even get in? So if you wanted to call for a chick...-en pot, that wouldn’t get in either, right?’
