"You’re looking for our manager?"
The female receptionist was a bit surprised that Lin Jiang would make such a request.
"Yes, I’d like to ask her about something. Could you please get her for me?"
Looking at Lin Jiang, the female receptionist hesitated.
If it had been anyone else, she would have rejected them without a second thought. The hotel was busy; who had the time to deal with this?
But Lin Jiang was handsome!
In this world, good-looking men and women all have invisible privileges.
"Alright, please wait a moment."
"Thank you, I appreciate it."
"You’re welcome. You can wait over to the side."
So as not to disturb her work, the group stepped aside.
Feng Qi pulled Zhao Fangfei to stand to one side.
"Fangfei, your boyfriend isn’t going to fight with the manager over a room, is he?"
"Of course not. Brother Jiang has a great temper; he wouldn’t do something like that," Zhao Fangfei said confidently. "He probably just wants to ask about the situation."
"The front desk already said there are no rooms, so what is he trying to accomplish?" Feng Qi said.
"If it really doesn’t work out, we can just make do with a youth hostel. It’s just a place to sleep, anyway. It won’t stop us from having fun here."
"Let’s just see what happens first. If it really doesn’t work out, then we’ll have to go to a hostel."
"Mm."
Just then, the hotel manager arrived. He was a man in his thirties and walked up to Lin Jiang very politely.
"Hello, sir. Is there a problem?"
"The front desk said the hotel has no rooms. I wanted to ask, if I add more money, would one become available?"
"Sir, this isn’t about money. If the front desk said there are no rooms, then there really are—"
"I’ll add ten thousand."
The manager: ???
’I thought you were just going to add a few hundred, not ten thousand right off the bat!’
"Our receptionist is new and not familiar with our operations. I’ll go check on the situation again," the manager said, beaming and speaking graciously.
"What kind of room would you like?"
"A sea-view room," Lin Jiang said, holding his phone.
"I see on the price list that a sea-view room is 2,980 a night. I’ll transfer 12,980 to you. You can go ask, and if there’s a room, just use that to pay for it. If not, you can refund me the money."
The manager was overjoyed!
’This guy really knows how to get things done!’
"Yes, yes, of course. I’ll go ask for you right away."
They turned away from the others, and Lin Jiang transferred 12,980 to the manager, who then went to the counter.
Before long, the manager returned with a room key.
"Sir, here is your room key. If you need anything else, just contact the front desk."
"Alright, thank you for your trouble."
"Not at all, not at all. It’s my pleasure."
Key in hand, Lin Jiang returned to Zhao Fangfei’s side.
"The room is ready. Let’s go."
"You got the room?"
Everyone was surprised. Feng Qi couldn’t help but ask,
"Didn’t the receptionist say there were no rooms?"
"I added ten thousand yuan, and suddenly he had a room. A sea-view suite, no less."
"What? You added ten thousand!"
For people of Zhao Fangfei and Feng Qi’s social class, ten thousand yuan was no small sum.
Forget just staying at a hotel; with that much money, they could probably cover the entire cost of their trip.
And yet he had spent that much just to stay in a sea-view room!
’What a show-off!’
"Brother Jiang, that’s too wasteful."
Zhao Fangfei clung to Lin Jiang’s arm, speaking in a deliberately cute, high-pitched voice.
"If there really were no rooms, I would have been fine staying in a youth hostel. There was no need to spend so much extra money."
"Well, mainly, I don’t like staying in hostels either. Besides, if ten thousand yuan can solve the problem, I wouldn’t call it wasted money," Lin Jiang said with a smile.
"Most importantly, you don’t have to suffer."
"Thank you, Brother Jiang! MWAH~~~"
Zhao Fangfei took the initiative and planted a kiss on Lin Jiang’s cheek.
"Qiqi, let’s head back to our room first."
"Okay, let’s go."
The four of them took the elevator. It stopped on the fourth floor.
"Qiqi, we’re on the sixth floor. See you later," Zhao Fangfei said, waving.
"Okay."
The two of them grabbed their bags and got off the elevator.
As soon as the elevator doors closed, Zhou Sui’s expression soured.
With his wealth, being friends with people in Feng Qi’s circle gave him a great sense of superiority.
Furthermore, his other goal had been to show off his financial power and win over Zhao Fangfei.
But he never expected Lin Jiang to pop up out of nowhere, ruining his plans and completely overshadowing him!
"What does that guy do?"
"I don’t know either, but judging by his behavior, he must be well-off," Feng Qi said after a moment of thought.
But her mood didn’t seem to be affected.
’Fangfei’s boyfriend is much better off than I imagined!’
’This is a very good sign!’
"Hah, you think he could be richer than me?"
"How could that be possible?"
Feng Qi could see that Zhou Sui was unhappy, so she quickly linked her arm with his and said,
"He’s probably just some middle-class guy with a little bit of money, trying to show off in front of us. It’s just a sea-view room, don’t pay him any mind."
Hearing Feng Qi say this, Zhou Sui felt a little better. Anyway, they were going to be here for two days; he would just have to find another opportunity.
"Let’s go. Back to the room for now."
"Mhm."
The two of them returned to their room together.
After going inside, she discovered their window faced the mountain behind the hotel, and Feng Qi’s mood instantly soured.
It was a stretch of lush greenery, but it was so close that it felt a bit oppressive.
’If they were in a sea-view room, they could see the ocean while lying in bed. That feeling would be absolutely amazing.’
Meanwhile, Lin Jiang and Zhao Fangfei had also returned to their room.
"This sea-view room is so beautiful!"
As soon as she entered the room, Zhao Fangfei went to the window and marveled at the view for a good while.
Lin Jiang also went to the window. His own place was a river-view apartment, facing a concrete jungle of towering skyscrapers. Compared to a pure sea-view room like this, the scenery was vastly different.
