With the payment made, all that was left was the paperwork.
Lin Jiang didn’t need to handle this part; Xu Lin could do it on her own.
Lin Jiang then browsed for some other small toys for Jiang Xiaoqi, picking ones with same-day city delivery so they would arrive that day.
After about an hour, all the paperwork was finished.
The two of them returned to the car. Staring at the home purchase documents, Xu Lin was still struggling to calm her emotions.
’A few words, and a man spent over seven million to buy me a house.’
’A divorced woman with a son, and a tall, rich, handsome man pays over seven million in full to buy her a house.’
’Even a director of cheesy idol dramas would find this script too ridiculous.’

’A new mode unlocked, huh.’
’But this mode is a bit different from the Affinity one.’
’The Affinity Development Fund was just for picking up girls. The Investment Fund seems much more professional.’
’This reward money can only be used to invest in them, incorporating them into my business landscape.’
’Tsk, tsk, tsk, interesting.’
’My Linbao is still the best. She always makes the fastest progress.’
"Still spacing out?" Lin Jiang asked, seeing Xu Lin staring intently at the home purchase documents.
"It feels a little surreal."
"This isn’t surreal. It’s just the beginning."
"I just never expected that a divorced woman like me could receive this kind of treatment."
"If you got this treatment while you were still married, wouldn’t that just cause trouble?"
Xu Lin looked at Lin Jiang with great interest. "Don’t they say scoring a goal when there’s a goalie is more satisfying?"
’Holy shit!’
’Mature women are the best!’
"Yours is an empty net now. I’ll try to find one with a goalie next time."
"You villain. I’m going to pinch you."
Xu Lin glanced at her watch. "It’s almost 11:00. Are you hungry? Want to get something to eat? My treat today."
"I treated you to a high-protein feast last night, so it’s only fair you treat me today."
"You’re getting naughtier and naughtier," Xu Lin said charmingly.
Lin Jiang smiled. "We can talk about eating later. There’s still business to attend to."
"What business?"
"You’ll know in a bit."
Lin Jiang picked up his phone and contacted the property management at Central Plaza.
They arranged to meet downstairs at the office building in 20 minutes.
Xu Lin didn’t ask for details.
She had always lived by a certain principle: a woman shouldn’t pry too much into a man’s affairs.
’As long as he doesn’t cheat, isn’t abusive, and is willing to hand over his salary, he’s a good man. The minor details are completely unimportant.’
About 20 minutes later, Lin Jiang drove to Central Plaza.
During the drive, Xu Lin’s phone kept ringing. Lin Jiang guessed she was talking to Zhao Dongming about splitting their assets.
After he parked the car, Xu Lin looked up at Central Plaza. She knew it was one of Zhonghai’s high-end office buildings.
Lin Jiang was on his phone. Before long, a young man walked over.
"Hello, Mr. Lin. I’m Zhang Kai."
Zhang Kai was decent-looking and wore a well-fitting suit. He proactively extended his hand upon seeing Lin Jiang.
"Hello."
Lin Jiang shook his hand in return. After a few pleasantries, they took the elevator to the 17th floor, arriving at the office that was for lease.
"Mr. Lin, the usable area of the entire office space is about 138 square meters. If the company isn’t too large, it should be sufficient."
Lin Jiang nodded. For him, the most important thing was just having a place. The size didn’t really matter.
The interior decoration was simple. Although it was ready for immediate use, it was still lacking something—it didn’t have the right atmosphere.
’This is a job for Liang Shuhuo.’
Afterward, Zhang Kai led Lin Jiang and Xu Lin on a tour of the space, explaining various details. Everything was more or less satisfactory, with no obvious flaws.
For a startup, a usable area of 138 square meters was not small at all. It was more than enough to accommodate twenty to thirty people.
"There are no issues. I’ll rent it for a year to start."
"Great, I’ll go prepare the contract right away."
Zhang Kai turned and left, and Xu Lin looked at Lin Jiang.
"Are you preparing to open a company?"
"Smart girl. It’ll mainly be for investments. You need a strategic base of operations, right?"
"You’re really branching out in all directions now. Looks like I can’t call you Boss Lin anymore. I’ll have to start calling you President Lin."
"’President Lin’ certainly sounds better than ’Boss Lin,’ but I’d still prefer it if you called me Daddy..."
Xu Lin’s slender fingers pinched the soft flesh at Lin Jiang’s waist.
"That song ’Dad, I’m Home’ is pretty good. Have you heard it?"
"I’m going to hit you. Aren’t you afraid someone will hear?"
"It’s just the two of us here. It’s fine."
With nothing else to do, Lin Jiang led Xu Lin on another stroll through the office. The largest room could serve as the general manager’s office.
At that moment, all his previous ’education’ came full circle.
’No wonder so many people like to fool around in the office. The atmosphere here really sets a mood.’
’And for this kind of atmosphere, only a secretary would be the perfect fit.’
’If it were a maid, it would just feel like a mismatched, awkward combination.’
