After exchanging a few official pleasantries, the group arrived at Huipin City.
As the large group entered, surrounded by an entourage, the shoppers took notice. Dressed in official-style jackets and followed by reporters, it was obvious that government leaders had arrived.
They just didn’t know what rank these officials held.
Once inside, the group began their tour of Huipin City, following a pre-planned route.
During the inspection, the officials asked some of the staff and shoppers a few questions about things like their salaries, benefits, and shopping experience.
The feedback they received was overwhelmingly positive. Standing to one side, Han Guangqi was brimming with confidence, extremely pleased with his masterpiece.
After touring the store, the group arrived at the food court, and Han Guangqi spoke up.
"Esteemed leaders, would you care to try our specialty cold skin noodles?"
The lead official glanced at the glass counter, then at the sign above it.
"You run this yourselves?"
"That’s right. To guarantee absolute cleanliness and safety, we run it ourselves. We oversee the entire process, from sourcing the raw ingredients to final preparation. This ensures every customer can purchase clean and hygienic food."
The self-operated food court offered many other items, but Han Guangqi’s choice of the cold skin noodles was intentional.
A while ago, Berkeley had a food safety scandal, and the problem was traced back to one of their cold skin noodle processing centers.
This way, a side-by-side comparison would make it immediately obvious who was superior.
"Sir, please try our cold skin noodles. All the ingredients are very fresh," said the employee at the stall.
It was obviously a rehearsed performance. The employee had started preparing the noodles the moment Han Guangqi began to speak.
They were ready in a flash and handed to the lead official.
"Let me have a taste..."
The lead official took a small bite and said with a smile, "The flavor really is quite good."
Upon receiving the official’s praise, the smile on Han Guangqi’s face grew even wider. ’At this rate,’ he thought, ’Berkeley will be no match for me.’
The inspection lasted a little over half an hour before the officials departed, without even holding a meeting.
According to their original schedule, they hadn’t planned on visiting Huipin City at all.
Given Berkeley’s popularity, its high-quality service, and its status as an industry benchmark, a visit there would have been far more appropriate from any angle.
However, Huipin Group was a local brand and required a degree of preferential treatment for policy reasons, so they had dropped by for a quick look.
For the officials, the most important objective of the day was to visit Mu Xing.
Whether in terms of scale, production value, or the number of jobs it could provide, Mu Xing was no match for Huipin Group.
But from a development perspective, Mu Xing’s importance was on a level that Huipin Group couldn’t hope to match.
Commercial real estate was replaceable. Even if Huipin Group were to go bankrupt, countless others just like it would spring up overnight.
But Mu Xing was different. The beef produced in its facility had already reached a world-class level of quality; it just wasn’t well-known yet.
At a time like this, the government naturally had to step in and offer its endorsement, helping Mu Xing build its reputation and become a cornerstone of the culinary industry as soon as possible.
After leaving Huipin City, the entourage drove to Mu Xing.
Lin Jiang and all the company’s senior executives were already there.
"They’ll be here any minute. Everyone, mind your words and actions," Chen Jingxian reminded them from her post by the door.
One by one, the executives began adjusting their attire.
After all, their visitors were city leaders; maintaining a professional image was essential.
Before long, two minibuses pulled up at Mu Xing’s entrance.
The rest of the visit followed a similar pattern: first a factory tour, but this time, it was followed by a meeting.
"Everyone here has witnessed the quality of Mu Xing’s products. As you continue to develop, you must expand your market as quickly as possible while maintaining your brand’s integrity. Build up your brand recognition, go national, and get your products onto the dining tables of households across the country."
"Yes, sir. We are working hard to achieve that very goal..."
Lin Jiang began to speak at a leisurely pace:
"Truthfully, our company is facing its own share of difficulties and challenges. But please rest assured, sirs, we will quickly break through these developmental bottlenecks and strive to build our reputation, making the ’Mu Xing quality’ a household name."
"We didn’t come here today just for an inspection; we’re also here to help you solve any problems you’re encountering as you grow. If you’ve run into issues, you can speak frankly. Please, say whatever is on your mind today, without any hesitation."
"Our primary issue is land. To a certain extent, it’s limiting our growth..."
Lin Jiang didn’t hold back, laying out all their problems in one go.
The attending officials were anything but stingy. They agreed on the spot to approve another plot of land for Mu Xing and even authorized a one-hundred-million-yuan interest-free loan. It was a clear display of their wholehearted support.
The meeting concluded after more than an hour. Once they saw the officials off, everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief.
After all, an event like this was one where they couldn’t afford to drop the ball. A single misstep in any part of the process could have impacted their future growth.
After the meeting, Lin Jiang took the senior executives out for a meal before driving back to the office.
"I really didn’t expect the officials to agree to so many of our requests."
"With Mu Xing’s immense growth potential, receiving this kind of support is perfectly reasonable. Once the land approval comes through, Yong’an won’t stand a chance."
"And most importantly, that one-hundred-million-yuan interest-free loan will allow us to rapidly roll out our self-operated Mu Xing stores in the four major cities."
Chen Jingxian brushed her hair back. "Our plan is to open 500 stores nationwide within a year and become a leader in the industry."
