Based on skill alone, Zhonghai Jiaotong University was probably ranked fourth or fifth.
But since Jiaoda had started this event, they had to be given a spot in the top three.
As for the three candidates Lin Jiang and Fang Jie had picked out, Qiu Yunong had already contacted them. They were waiting in the lounge.
"Let’s go and meet those three."
"Mm."
They stood up and left the venue to meet up with Qiu Yunong.
"I’ve looked into Tang Wan’s background," Lin Jiang said. "She’s a teacher on the Youth League Committee at the Zhonghai Drama Academy and has no acting experience. For a newcomer like her, what would the pay be?"
"Around 200,000. She’s a newcomer, after all, so we don’t need to offer too much," Fang Jie said.
"Isn’t 200,000 a little low?"
"For newcomers like them, an opportunity like this is already a huge deal. If we play our cards right, we might not even have to pay them. That would save us a lot on the budget."
"That’s a good point."
Soon, they found Qiu Yunong.
Upon seeing Fang Jie beside Lin Jiang, Qiu Yunong remained outwardly calm, but she had already guessed what was happening. ’Looks like another woman is about to be conquered by my benefactor.’
’Then again, with my benefactor’s prowess, this is just standard operating procedure.’
"Did you talk to them?" Lin Jiang asked.
"I have. They’re all eager for this opportunity. If we do end up using them, their fees will be much lower," Qiu Yunong said.
Lin Jiang nodded. "Let’s go in and take a look."
"Mm."
The three of them arrived at the lounge. Inside was a long sofa, along with a lot of props and costumes.
It was more of a small storage room than a lounge.
Tang Wan and the other two women stood up when they saw the trio enter.
Tang Wan had a similar air to Shen Qingqiu, but she wasn’t as reserved.
She had a serene, peaceful face, completely without aggression. A classic, well-structured beauty.
The young woman standing beside Tang Wan, named Liu Peipei, was just as beautiful.
’Talent: 87. Also a student at the Zhonghai Drama Academy.’
Miao Xiaoyuan was a small step down. She had an oval face, making her more suitable for playing stunningly beautiful supporting characters.
After seeing the three of them, Lin Jiang mentally cast them in their respective roles. But whether they’d actually make the cut was up to them.
’If they can’t seize this opportunity, there’s nothing I can do.’
Qiu Yunong stood beside Lin Jiang and made the introductions.
"This is the general manager of YM18 Media, President Lin."
"And this is the general manager of Green Peak Media, President Fang."
"President Lin, President Fang."
The three women greeted Lin Jiang and Fang Jie reservedly, shaking hands with each of them.
"I’ve been here all day, and the three of you have left quite an impression on me. My company is currently preparing to shoot a film, and there are a few roles I’d like you to audition for."
"Thank you, President Lin."
"Leave your contact information before you go. Someone will get in touch with you to arrange an audition," Lin Jiang said.
"Even if you don’t land a role in this film, we’ll be producing others in the future, so there may be other opportunities to work together."
"Thank you, President Lin."
After the brief meeting and chat, Lin Jiang and Fang Jie left.
Once they settled on a director, the auditions could begin.
After leaving Zhongti University, Lin Jiang and Fang Jie had dinner together before heading to her place.
Just like last time, Fang Jie brewed tea and cut some fruit.
They started watching films previously directed by Li Wenzhong.
Fast-forwarding through them, they got through three films in about two hours.
Two were comedies and the other was a coming-of-age film. Both their box office numbers and reviews were quite good.
Li Wenzhong had an excellent grasp of comedic timing, which satisfied Lin Jiang.
"What do you think?"
"He’s quite good. Let’s meet with him tomorrow. If there are no issues, he’s our guy. Then we can contact the actors for their auditions."
"That’s what I was thinking, too."
He got up to stretch, then checked his watch. It was already past seven in the evening. He needed to get back for his workout.
Fang Jie noticed the small movement.
"Do you have other plans for tonight?"
"Nope. I was just planning to head back for a workout and get some exercise."
A glint appeared in Fang Jie’s eyes.
"How about we go for a swim? My new swimsuit just arrived. We could do a few laps together."
"The problem is, I don’t have my swim trunks with me, so I can’t."
"That’s an easy fix. There’s a sporting goods store downstairs. We can go buy a pair. As for the rest of the gear, you can just use mine. I have plenty."
As she spoke, Fang Jie glanced at her watch. "The pool at the community clubhouse should be empty right now. It’s the perfect time to go for a few laps."
"Alright."
With the decision made, the two of them went to the sporting goods store downstairs, picked out a pair of swim trunks, and then headed to the community clubhouse’s swimming pool.
They bought day passes and followed Fang Jie to the pool on the B1 level
When Lin Jiang came out in his swim trunks, Fang Jie couldn’t tear her eyes away.
’How on earth did he get a body like that?!’
’His physique is incredible!’
Fang Jie struggled to control herself, trying her best not to stare at Lin Jiang and maintain her composure.
It wasn’t early, so the clubhouse pool was completely empty. This made it convenient for them to swim without having to worry about other people.
Standing by the side of the pool, they began to do their warm-up exercises.
Fang Jie wore a black, backless swimsuit.
She had a slightly voluptuous figure, and the high-cut suit dug into the tops of her thighs, creating an indentation. The effect was enough to make one’s pulse race.
As she did her warm-ups, Fang Jie found it impossible to take her eyes off Lin Jiang, unable to resist sneaking glances at him.
’It wasn’t just the eight-pack and V-cut abs. There was also the round bulge in his trunks... Fang Jie didn’t dare to even imagine what size he must be.’
"Stop staring, or your eyes might fall out."
Fang Jie blushed, embarrassed at being called out.
"President Lin... can I touch your abs?" Fang Jie asked, mustering her courage.
