"How can you say I’m being a creep? I’ve already told you the secret. It’s up to you whether you listen to me or not."
"Alright, just tell me what the workout is."
"Well..."
Lin Jiang hesitated for a moment.
’I know next to nothing about fitness. I’ll just have to bluff my way through today, and then I can take her swimming tomorrow.’
"Do you have a jump rope?"
"I do."
"Start with five sets of 200 jumps each. Rest for one minute after every set."
"Alright, I’ll start now."
"This late at night? You might disturb the neighbors."
Qin Yangyang gave a sly smile. "I jump rope at home all the time. I already checked—no one lives downstairs."
"Go on, start jumping. I can’t wait to supervise your weight loss."
"You’re such a hypocrite. As if I don’t know what you *really* want to see."
Qin Yangyang was compliant. She took out her jump rope, laid down a rubber mat, and began to jump.
Lin Jiang sipped his drink, watching Qin Yangyang jump rope.
’Now I know the pleasures of King Zhou.’
Qin Yangyang’s stamina was better than he’d expected. She actually managed to get through all five sets, though her body was glistening with sweat by the end.
"Jumping in these clothes is so uncomfortable. Are there any other exercises?"
"Why don’t you do some yoga?"
"Yoga? Absolutely not."
"Why not?"
"Yoga involves a lot of poses like splits and sticking your butt out. It’s too indecent. I can’t do it in front of you. And even if I did, I couldn’t wear a swimsuit. I’d need yoga pants."
"Then we’ll do it another day when you can wear yoga pants."
Qin Yangyang’s cheeks were a little red. "That’s enough working out for today. I’m not letting you get a free show anymore."
With that, Qin Yangyang went into the bathroom to take a shower, while Lin Jiang continued to drink by himself.
’The way people interact is fascinating,’ Lin Jiang thought.
’Someone as smart as Qin Yangyang would never actually believe that jumping rope in a swimsuit helps with weight loss.’
’She just wasn’t against the idea.’
’Otherwise, you couldn’t even call this flirting.’
’You have to make a move for anything to happen. Otherwise, there’s nothing.’
’Still, this master’s advice is really worth studying.’
’There’s no such thing as an "ice queen." It all just depends on who she’s dealing with.’
’A simp could chase her for three years and might not even get to hold her hand, but a rich kid just has to flash his car’s emblem, and he can take her straight to a hotel.’
’Shen Yuanhang probably couldn’t even dream of the scene that just played out.’
The sound of running water came from the bathroom. Through the frosted glass, only a silhouette was visible.
But a scene like that was more than enough to let one’s imagination run wild.
’As for Qin Yangyang, I can just take my time with her. After all, someone’s handling the "after-sales service" for me, so there’s no rush.’
’Use Weight Loss Card on Qin Yangyang,’ Lin Jiang recited silently in his mind.
[Weight Loss Card usage successful. 239:59:59...]
[Target: Qin Yangyang]
[Weight: 110.9 lbs, Height: 169 cm]
[While the Weight Loss Card is active, the player may freely control the target’s weight gain or loss. The plan can be completed ahead of schedule. If the plan is not completed within the allotted time, the target’s weight will automatically become 100.9 kilograms upon expiration.]
[Note: Any weight the target loses on their own during this period will not be counted.]
After reading the rules for the Weight Loss Card, Lin Jiang found it was much more interesting than he’d imagined.
’I thought it would be a simple "lose one pound a day for ten days" kind of thing. I didn’t expect to have full control over her weight.’
’And I’m the one in control. This is way more fun.’
’There’s a catch, though.’
’First, she can’t gain any weight during this time. Second, she still needs to lose 0.9 pounds through her own efforts.’
’But given how self-disciplined Qin Yangyang is, 0.9 pounds is nothing.’
’I’ll start with a small test. I’ll have her lose a pound, just to give her a taste of success.’
...
AHHHH—
"Lin Jiang!"
Early the next morning, a groggy Lin Jiang was jolted awake by Qin Yangyang.
Before he could react, he saw Qin Yangyang rush in.
When she saw Lin Jiang wasn’t dressed, she realized she’d been too impulsive and quickly backed out of the room.
"What’s with all the fuss? You scared me."
"I lost 1.1 pounds! Your method works incredibly well," Qin Yangyang said from the doorway.
’Lost 1.1 pounds?’
Lin Jiang’s eyes darted. ’The extra 0.1 pounds must be from her own efforts.’
"So, you believe me now?"
"I do, I do! But I’m a little confused. I jump rope at home all the time, but I’ve never had results this good."
"The difference is that yesterday you jumped in a swimsuit."
"Oh, stop trying to trick me. It’s just an outfit. How could it affect weight loss?"
"Then you tell me. Why did you drop 1.1 pounds overnight?"
"Uh..."
Qin Yangyang was speechless. She had no idea how to explain it either.
’I’ve been stuck at a plateau for so long. My weight has never dropped below 111.’
’But to lose 1.1 pounds in a single night... It really did seem magical to her.’
Lin Jiang got dressed, walked out of the room, and went to the bathroom to wash up. Qin Yangyang had already prepared his toothbrush and towel.
"See? You can’t explain it either."
Lin Jiang squeezed toothpaste onto his toothbrush and mumbled:
"I’m telling you, it’s the effect of the swimsuit. If you wore just your underwear, the results would be even better. You’d lose at least two pounds, starting off."
Qin Yangyang leaned against the bathroom doorway, watching Lin Jiang wash up.
"Even if I don’t know what’s going on, I know it has nothing to do with the swimsuit, and it *definitely* has nothing to do with underwear. You can’t fool me."
"Just try it with your normal clothes today."
"Fine, I’ll try," Qin Yangyang said. "But I think it’s probably because I finally broke through my plateau."
"As long as I keep watching my diet and increase my exercise a bit, I’m sure I’ll keep losing weight."
