Inside the Mercedes-Benz dealership.
Li Zhiyi and Feng Xile were washing their hands in the restroom.
"Your frequency is a bit scary. You dragged me to the bathroom half an hour ago, and now we’re back again."
"This is already an improvement. I’ve been taking traditional Chinese medicine lately, and the doctor said I need to recuperate for half a year," Feng Xile said.
"That’s terrifying."
"It’s perfectly normal. You’ll be the same way when it’s your turn."
"It can’t be that bad, can it? It should vary from person to person."
Li Zhiyi found it a little frightening. Feng Xile was in great shape, but she herself might not be able to handle it.
’If it’s really like that, my frequency might be even higher than hers.’
"Unless you have a C-section. Natural births always come with this."
Feng Xile gave Li Zhiyi a suggestive nudge.
"So, how are things with you two? Have you been taking precautions lately?"
"W-What precautions?"
"Don’t play innocent with me. We’re both women of the world, so don’t give me that act. Hurry up and tell me, have you been taking precautions?"
"Well..."
For a moment, Li Zhiyi didn’t know how to answer.
Because they really hadn’t used any. Most of the time, he just got it on her. Other times, she would take...
"That’s private. Why do you keep asking about it?"
"This is a private chat between us young wives. Come on, tell your big sis. I’m really curious."
"I’m not telling you."
Li Zhiyi quickened her pace and turned to leave. "I have a client coming soon. I need to go greet them."
"What’s with her..."
Back outside the restroom, Feng Xile’s tone became a little more serious.
"Your sales performance this month is a bit behind Yu Wenli’s again. She hasn’t come over to mock you, has she?" Feng Xile asked.
"Not really. I feel like she’s been a lot more low-key this month," Li Zhiyi said.
"She does her thing, I do mine. I don’t really care about the ’Sales Champion’ title anyway. Things are fine as they are."
"I’ve noticed that too. She’s not as arrogant as she used to be," Feng Xile said.
"Your boyfriend really is something else. He put her right in her place."
"It was just a coincidence. It’s not like he can come buy cars from me every single month."
"As long as it makes her tuck her tail between her legs and behave, it’s good enough."
As she spoke, Feng Xile gently nudged Li Zhiyi and tilted her head. "She’s secretly watching you."
Li Zhiyi glanced diagonally ahead and saw Yu Wenli.
"Let her look. We’ll mind our own business, and she can mind hers."
On the other side, Yu Wenli was standing and talking with a male colleague.
"Sister Li, it’s only been a little over ten days this month, and you’re already ahead of Li Zhiyi by more than a million. This month’s Sales Champion title should be in the bag."
The man’s name was Liu Chao. He had once pursued Li Zhiyi, but after being mercilessly rejected, he had sided with Yu Wenli.
Both of them were quite good-looking, and their relationship was rather ambiguous—a fact that was an open secret in the dealership.
"If it weren’t for her boyfriend, I would have been the sales champion for the last two months," Yu Wenli said, unconvinced.
"What can you do? I guess I’m just unlucky. She landed a rich boyfriend, so we just have to quietly do our jobs."
"Her boyfriend has already helped her twice. He can’t possibly help her every single month, right? At this rate, you’ll be ahead by more than three million this month. The Sales Champion title is definitely yours," the male colleague said.
Yu Wenli thought so too, but she knew she should keep a low profile before the final results were in.
She could be high-profile again at the end of the month, once the dust had settled.
"Let’s get back to work for now. We can talk after I’ve secured the Sales Champion title at the end of the month."
"Okay."
Before they had taken more than a few steps, Yu Wenli and Liu Chao suddenly froze, their expressions turning extremely unnatural.
Because they saw Lin Jiang walk in from outside.
Seeing Lin Jiang, Yu Wenli grew tense, terrified that he was here to buy a car.
"Brother Jiang!"
Seeing Lin Jiang, a smile blossomed on Li Zhiyi’s face. She clicked over to him in her high heels.
"You always launch these surprise attacks, never telling me you’re coming. Are you here to check up on me?" Li Zhiyi said softly.
"I don’t even talk to my male colleagues anymore, except about work. You can rest assured about that."
"You’re so obedient, I can’t even find a chance to punish you."
"Aiya~~~" Li Zhiyi whined playfully. "There’s an old saying: ’If you want to condemn someone, you’ll always find a charge.’ You’ll just have to think of some other way."
"On that front, I’ll have to find some material and study up."
"Brother Jiang, you’re so mean. All you know is how to bully me."
Since they were at her workplace, Li Zhiyi felt a bit shy about flirting openly with Lin Jiang.
"Brother, did you come here for a reason?"
Not far away, both Yu Wenli and Liu Chao pricked up their ears, terrified that Lin Jiang was there to buy cars.
"Yeah, I’m here to buy a few cars."
Yu Wenli’s face fell. ’He comes every month to deliver the final blow. He doesn’t leave me any chance at all!’
Li Zhiyi led Lin Jiang aside and sat down on a sofa.
"Brother, what cars are you buying?"
"One E-Class, one GLS, and you can pick out a commercial van for me."
"Are these for the company?"
Lin Jiang nodded.
"Then let’s go with the V260L. It’s the new extended-length model, perfect for business receptions," Li Zhiyi suggested.
"Alright, we’ll go with what you said. The V260L. I want them all top-spec."
"But we don’t sell that model here. I’ll have to source it from somewhere else for you. I’ll have someone deliver it to the noodle shop when it’s ready."
"Don’t send it to the noodle shop. Deliver it to the company building, the one I took you to before."
Li Zhiyi made an "OK" sign with her hand. "Mhm, no problem. I’ll go prepare the contracts now."
"Go ahead. Take your time, there’s no rush. And while you’re at it, think about what you want to eat tonight."
"Mhm."
Li Zhiyi left, feeling delighted. With nothing to do, Lin Jiang sent a message to Zhou Jingliang, asking when he would get off work.
