"I’ve paid back a portion. My family sold our house, and after paying off the bank loan, we had about two million yuan left over. We also had some savings. Plus, the three of us in my family have been working nonstop, so we’ve managed to pay off a good amount over the years."
"Given your family’s income, it would take at least five or six more years to pay off the rest, right?"
"I’ve set a goal for myself to pay it all back within five years."
After a moment of thought, Lin Jiang said,
"My company happens to be short-staffed. Stop working at the club from now on. I’ll pay off your family’s debt for you first. Your monthly salary will be twenty thousand, and you can pay back what you owe me from your wages. As for how much to deduct and how much to keep, you can decide that yourself."
He Siyao gazed at Lin Jiang, stunned, her eyes misting over.
"Wouldn’t I owe you too much then?"
"Think of it as a simple business arrangement. It’s not a matter of owing favors," Lin Jiang said.
"Besides, I’ll have a personal masseuse from now on. It’ll save me a lot of money."
"Then I still have to write you an IOU."
Without giving Lin Jiang a chance to speak, He Siyao got right off the bed.
She found a pen and paper in her bag, earnestly wrote out the IOU, and signed her name.
"There’s no ink pad. Can I use lipstick for the thumbprint?"
Seeing her earnest expression, Lin Jiang wanted to laugh. ’She’s being so formal over such a trivial matter.’
"Once you sign this, it’s basically like a contract for indentured servitude. You’d better think it through."
"I’ve thought it through," He Siyao said earnestly. "You’ve helped me so much. Even if this means selling myself to you, I’m willing."
"Alright, then."
He Siyao dabbed a bit of lipstick on her finger, pressed it onto the paper to make a thumbprint, and then handed the IOU to Lin Jiang.
Glancing at it, Lin Jiang signed his name as well.
But worried the lipstick would stain his hand, he couldn’t be bothered to add his own thumbprint.
"Alright, let’s continue."
"Mm-hmm."
He Siyao climbed back onto the bed and resumed the massage.
’On second thought, this is a pretty good deal.’
’Even though he owned the club, as the boss, he couldn’t just mess around with his own employees. That would undermine his authority.’
’Having He Siyao around now makes things much more convenient.’
"D-do you want to try other... methods?"
"Other methods?"
He Siyao lowered her head and quietly brushed her hair back.
"The club has some... off-menu, borderline services. Others have performed them for clients, so I know what they entail. If you’d like, I can give it a try for you, but I might not be very good at it."
"You don’t even have to ask. Of course, I want to try."
He Siyao moved to Lin Jiang’s side and started massaging his thigh.
’He could tell her technique was a bit unpracticed; it wasn’t as good as her foot massages.’
’But damn, having her do this... he was finding it hard to take.’
He Siyao noticed the change in him, but she kept her hands moving.
"If you don’t mind, I... I can help you..."
"What are you waiting for? You’ve handled the pre-sale service, now you have to take care of the after-sale service, too."
"I understand."
He Siyao’s "after-sale service" was different from others, still based primarily on massage. Lin Jiang felt like a balloon that could explode at any moment.
’But her mouth-work was clumsy at first, and it actually hurt a little.’
’But with my patient guidance, her skill level skyrocketed.’
’You just can’t argue with natural talent.’
’She’s such a fast learner.’
However, a thought occurred to Lin Jiang, one he found very interesting.
’Whether it was an NPC quest or the conditions for "pet capture," Tongzi always customized them based on the target’s needs.’
’He Jing’s capture condition was to feed her until she was full.’
’He Siyao’s was to pay off her debt.’
’Does that mean He Jing is also a character with a hidden, contrasting side?’
’Interesting.’
