Soon, the two arrived on the 24th floor.
The moment they stepped out of the elevator, a soft, warm light washed over them.
Between the elevator doors and the apartment entrance, there was a potted plant. Lin Jiang didn’t know what species it was, but it looked expensive.
The front door was ajar, and they could hear voices from inside as they stood at the entrance.
"This unit is one of our featured properties. It looks like someone else is viewing it right now," Zhao Fangfei explained to Lin Jiang.
"Mm."
Pulling open the heavy double doors, Lin Jiang was stunned by the apartment’s sheer size and luxurious decor.
Even though he had tried to picture a 681-square-meter apartment, the reality far exceeded his imagination.
Lin Jiang suddenly understood a certain truth: you can’t even begin to imagine the lives of the wealthy.
An emperor really doesn’t plow his fields with a golden hoe.
After entering, Lin Jiang saw two people standing by the floor-to-ceiling windows, discussing the property.
"Hm?"
The other saleswoman’s client was a middle-aged woman, who looked to be in her fifties. She was rather heavyset, looking a bit like Pai Daxing.
’Why does she look so familiar?’
As if sensing Lin Jiang’s gaze, the middle-aged woman glanced in his direction with a hint of disdain before quickly looking away.
"Mr. Lin, let’s just focus on our own tour. It won’t be a problem."
Lin Jiang didn’t pay it much mind. This sort of thing was quite common.
The two groups split up, examining the details in different areas of the apartment.
"This is the master bedroom. It comes with a walk-in closet and an en suite bathroom, covering about 42 square meters. Besides being a place to rest, it can also meet your wife’s daily makeup needs."
"I don’t have a wife yet, so that part probably won’t be necessary for now," Lin Jiang said with a smile.
"You don’t..."
Zhao Fangfei froze for a second. ’Did his boss get a divorce?’
’It seems like very few of those rich and successful tycoons have normal marriages anyway.’
"Even if you don’t need it now, you will in the future."
"I’ll take that as a blessing."
Taking his time, Lin Jiang walked ahead, looked at a few bedrooms, and then arrived at the kitchen.
At the same time, the other saleswoman, Xie Shuang, and the middle-aged woman were also there.
The two of them were standing in the doorway, leaving only a narrow gap that was difficult to pass through.
"Excuse me, we’d like to get by," Zhao Fangfei said politely.
The middle-aged woman, whose build was oddly reminiscent of Pai Daxing, shot Zhao Fangfei a contemptuous look but didn’t move an inch. She spoke with annoyance:
"Go somewhere else first. We’re in the middle of a conversation, don’t interrupt us."
"But..."
"Feifei."
Just as Zhao Fangfei was about to speak, Xie Shuang cut her off.
"My client is more important. You two go look somewhere else and come back later."
"My client is also impor—"
"That’s enough."
Lin Jiang pulled Zhao Fangfei back. "Let’s go."
"Oh, oh, okay."
The two of them backed away, and Zhao Fangfei tried to soothe Lin Jiang’s mood.
"I’m so sorry, Mr. Lin."
"What are you apologizing for?"
"I’ve been on the sales team at Century Triumph for the shortest time. They’re all senior employees. If I were a senior employee too, they would definitely be more polite to me."
It was obvious Zhao Fangfei was talking about Xie Shuang.
"I don’t think it has much to do with seniority. It’s that woman who looks like Pai Daxing. She’s the one who came off as arrogant."
"Pai Daxing?"
Zhao Fangfei couldn’t help but laugh at Lin Jiang’s strange description. Thinking about it, the resemblance was actually there.
"Rich people these days... each one is more arrogant than the last. Please don’t take it to heart. I’ll show you some other areas."
"No rush. We can see it later." As he spoke, Lin Jiang walked toward the exit.
"See it later?" Zhao Fangfei was confused.
"Go back and prepare the contract. I’m taking this apartment. We can come back and look at it after I’ve bought it."
"Huh?"
Zhao Fangfei’s eyes went wide, momentarily at a loss for words.
"You—you’re buying this apartment?"
"Why else would I be here if not to buy an apartment?"
"You... I... This..." Zhao Fangfei did a triple take. "I’ll go prepare the contract for you right now."
Zhao Fangfei’s heart hammered in her chest, nearly leaping out of her throat.
’He’s not a secretary viewing the property for his boss!’
’He’s buying it for himself!’
’This guy is a top-tier heir!’
’Most importantly, he’s also handsome. How can anyone be so lucky?’
They reached the elevator and stood side-by-side. Zhao Fangfei’s heart was pounding.
’During the tour, he said he didn’t have a "wife." That means he’s single right now!’
’What an unbelievably eligible bachelor!’
Soon, they returned to the sales center, and Lin Jiang was led to a private reception room on the second floor.
"Please wait a moment, Mr. Lin. I’ll go prepare the contract."
"Okay."
Her high heels went CLICK-CLACK-CLACK as she walked to the computer. Zhao Fangfei typed a few things, getting ready to print the contract.
But after several attempts, the printer didn’t respond.
"What’s going on?"
Muttering to herself, Zhao Fangfei looked down and saw that the printer’s power cord had come unplugged.
She slipped off her high heels and tried to plug it back in with her foot, but she couldn’t reach. She had no choice but to get up from her chair, duck under the desk, and plug in the power cord.
At that moment, Zhao Fangfei suddenly realized her position was a bit indecent.
’My current position... I think I’m directly facing my client. If he just tilts his head down a little, he’ll be able to see...’
’Ah, well!’
’Whatever. Let him look if he wants. I’m just doing my job, it’s not like I’m doing it on purpose.’
Seeing that Zhao Fangfei had been fiddling for a while with no results, Lin Jiang tilted his head to take a look.
’Holy crap!’
’That size!’
The massive, plump, round silhouette truly took Lin Jiang by surprise.
’A novice arches their back, an expert bends at the waist.’
’And that full, rounded curve... At this moment, even the scenery outside the window seemed dull in comparison.’
After plugging in the cord, Zhao Fangfei slowly crawled out from under the desk and started printing the contract.
In less than three minutes, the contract was printed and handed to Lin Jiang.
"Mr. Lin, the contract is ready. Please take a look."
He skipped past the useless preamble and looked at the core content. As long as the apartment’s square footage and the reward matched up, it was fine.
After all, he didn’t have any other options. The only choices he had were which building and which floor.
A quick scan showed no problems, so Lin Jiang signed his name.
"Let’s go to the finance department now."
"Okay."
Led by Zhao Fangfei, the two went to the finance department, where he paid by card.
After everything was done, he had 25 million left in the special fund, not counting the spare change.
The apartment came finely decorated, but it still needed appliances. The remaining money was more than enough to buy those and other furniture, or to cover some simple renovations.
"Mr. Lin, the rest of the paperwork needs to be handled at the property management office. But we’ll pass by C2401 on the way. Should we go back and see the apartment first, or head straight to the office?"
"Let’s go see the apartment. It’s mine now, so it’s not right for other people to be occupying my home, don’t you think?"
"You’re right."
