Chapter 1258: Another World
The Abyss was the ‘cursed’ existence.
Chen Rui had heard of this sentence, but the latter sentence was unheard of – the supreme existence!
“God?” Chen Rui finally asked.
“Where there is creation, there is destruction; where there is light, there is darkness.” Michael didn’t care about the sudden damage inflicted to his body, “Gods can possess and represent the great power of faith, but it is not truly perfect.”
“You mean... From another perspective, they are just ‘people’ with the power of God?” Chen Rui asked again.
Michael smiled lightly, “This metaphor is very appropriate. Those who look down on the common people are not without desires. On the contrary, their desires are directly proportional to their strength. Perhaps it is because of this that they end up with the later disastrous results... As for the Abyss, to be precise, they are not Gods, but Godhood, the Godhood of Darkness.”
Godhood of Darkness? Chen Rui’s brain could keep up with the sudden overwhelming information.
As soon as Michael said the last 3 words, more blood spilled out from his facial features at the same time. The blood was mixed with the greenery of destruction breath. All the blood mist quickly decomposed and annihilated in the air.
“Wait a minute!” Sosbach’s voice came from the left green eye, revealing a deep profound.
Sosbach’s calculation was not wrong. He did calculate Chen Rui correctly, but he didn’t put Michael into consideration.
“Eroding my soul requires a sufficient price! Now, it’s impossible for you to escape.” Michael’s right eye showed a proud expression. At this moment, he was still the proud archangel.
“Because of the curse, the darkness side of the soul took away a part of Godhood. This is the will of the Abyss: Destruction, hatred, fear, despair...” Before Chen Rui could ask, Michael had already continued on his own. When he said this sentence, there was a sound of explosion from his limbs. He couldn’t stand up immediately as he slowly sat down on the ground.
“Curse?” Chen Rui was still wondering. Who cursed Gods? Who could curse Gods?
“Everything started with the battle of the Gods.” Michael sighed lightly as if he was reminiscing something. After telling so many secrets, his body and soul had been severely injured, but he didn’t care about it, just reminiscing.
“Battle of the Gods?” Chen Rui thought of a very familiar term: Twilight of the Gods.
As far as he knew, there were similar stories in the Earth myths of his previous life. It seemed to be a war between the gods headed by Odin and the giants in the Norse myth. The gods were almost wiped out. Finally, the universe was destroyed and order was re-established.
When Chen Rui first came to the Demon Realm, he also used this version fused with the Havoc in Heaven to fool Aldas, Alice and others. With the improvement of his strength and knowledge, he knew that there was really a Twilight of the Gods in this world. It should be an unimaginable catastrophe – Those huge ‘corpses’ of Mysterious Land, the Gods who have been silent for countless years...
“There are 2 battles of the Gods.”
Chen Rui was a little surprised by Michael’s answer. 2?
Just as Michael said this, his silhouette suddenly blurred a bit. His power breath rapidly weakened. Chen Rui suddenly came to his senses, “Enough, stop right here.”
As previously expected, these secrets were taboos imposed by special rules. They could not be expressed in any way, otherwise the person would be subject to terrible recoil or punishment.
His soul would be severely injured, losing his power and even... life.
Seeing Michael’s appearance, Chen Rui felt a surge of sadness, not only for Michael but also for 1 of his former friends.
Michael shook his head. Python, who was looking at him, said, “Let me tell.”
Satan next to Python was taken aback and gave Python a look of surprise.
Michael looked directly at Python’s familiar silver and red pupils, and he slowly shook his head, “No need.”
You don’t need to pay anything back. You don’t owe me, you owe Tezaneer.”
“What you need is to live with her hope.”
Python and Michael looked at each other for a moment. She finally stopped insisting and fell silent.
“Wait a minute! Maybe we can...” Sosbach’s voice became much weaker with obvious fear. He had become 1 with Michael, and he was also suffering from the injuries Michael suffered. Facing the threat of death getting closer and closer, Sosbach was finally terrified.
“Don’t you represent the highest will that dominates fear? It’s ridiculous that you are even in fear now... In the end, you are just a remnant of selfishness and cowardice. You shouldn’t exist in this world!”
Michael smiled contemptuously before he turned his eyes back to Chen Rui and said, “The first battle of the Gods was the battle between the Gods and the Supreme. In that battle, the Gods paid a huge price to finally eliminate the Supreme Will that surpassed and enslaved them. However, they were also cursed by the Supreme Will, deprived of part of their Godhoods, and merged with the darkness of the soul, becoming the will of the Abyss. Meanwhile, the Supreme Being was sealed.”
Chen Rui finally understood. It turned out that the bloody body that was besieged by the ‘giants’ in the ‘dream’ was actually the Supreme Being above the Gods, or it could even be called the Supreme God. The giants are the Gods.
The bloody body was finally eliminated by the Gods and turned into the ‘eye’.
This made Chen Rui think of the alternation of God’s authority in Greek mythology. The titans overthrew the rule of their father, the Sky Goddess Uranus. However, the titans were later defeated by their descendants, the Olympian gods led by Zeus.
“The first battle of the Gods did not end. In the following battle with the Abyss Will, the Gods were horrified to find that their power was also fading along with the annihilation of the Abyss Will. The Godhood of Darkness was like the twins of fate that tightly bound with them. Destroying themselves in the mirror would also destroy them.”
Michael’s words made Chen Rui think of his last experience in the strange mirror world. That was the choice Alucier gave him at the beginning. If he killed the people in the mirror world, the original body of this world would also disappear.
Since Gods would kill themselves if they eliminated the Abyss Will, then what they finally chose...
“Exile.” Michael had already spoken the answer Chen Rui guessed in his mind, “They exiled the Abyss to a space outside the main plane, sealed it, and then sealed the entire main plane with authority power. It’s like a box that wraps oneself in it. In fact, although this box protects itself, it also confines itself.”
Chen Rui nodded involuntarily, only to hear Michael go on to say, “Since the scourge of the Abyss has been completely solved, the Gods have begun to enjoy that kind of aloof and free life. However, desires are endless. After losing the common enemy, under the conflict of interests, the conflicts among the Gods began to intensify. They finally split into 2 camps, and the war started again. If the purpose of the first battle of the Gods was ‘freedom’, then the second battle of the Gods is ‘desire’, which is a terrifying catastrophe affecting all living beings. Everything below Gods is cannon fodder. Countless Pseudo-God powerhouses died in the midst of the war... Later, the Gods also began to fall. The irony is that a small pawn in their eyes ended all of this...”
“Lucifer!” Chen Rui blurted out. In the vision he saw, Lucifer used the supreme key composed of the 7 artifacts to summon the ‘eye’ and destroy the Gods. This is the truth of the Twilight of the Gods?
What role did Lucifer play in the 2 battles of the gods? Why can the ‘eyes’ be summoned?
What is his relationship to Elemental Goddess Rafferty?
What do the Book of Creation, the Book of Destruction, and Book of Life and Death represent?
After Twilight of the Gods, the Gods fell, but why can the Abyss continue to exist? What is the secret here?
Although Michael uncovered the shocking truth, many new questions arose.
“That’s right, he’s actually just a sad pawn with a sad fate. He destroyed the Gods, not only because of his own reason but also because of Supreme...”
Michael’s words stopped abruptly. Chen Rui turned around and saw that the dark green in the pupil of the left eye had dissipated. Sosbach’s soul was annihilated while Michael’s figure became thinner.
This chief archangel persevered until the last moment.
His strength was indeed far inferior to that formidable Sosbach, but he did not lose.
“I used to think you were him, but you’re not.” Michael’s voice became ethereal. These words were not within the taboo range, so he could barely hold on for a moment, “You have to transcend him, transcend everything...”
Chen Rui said solemnly, “No matter how far I can go, I will always remember you, Gabriel and Raphael. You all are respectable rivals.”
He didn’t say ‘friends’ or ‘companions’, but ‘rivals’, which was more suitable for the 3 archangels.
There would always be things in life that would be missed, and there would always be some people who would be forgotten, but there would always be some people who would not be forgotten, whether they were lovers, friends or... rivals.
Chen Rui’s words made Michael’s gradually dim gaze flash a gleam of light. He nodded, then he took a deep look at Satan.
“It’s been so many years... We have been fighting for so many years.”
Satan looked at Michael quietly as his lips moved, but he didn’t say anything. He turned around suddenly and left.
Michael didn’t look at Satan anymore. He raised his head and looked at the sky.
“Is there really another world?”
Chen Rui was slightly shocked: Michael asked the same question as Gabriel at the last moment of his life.
“Yes!”
Chen Rui spoke out the answer loudly.
With that said, Michael’s body turned into countless golden luminous spots and dissipated.
On the mountain peak in the distance, Satan raised his head and also looked at the sky.
In the wind, the golden feather drifted away slowly.
TL: Why did Lucifer give him the supreme key? Is he asking Chen Rui to summon the supreme god and end this curse? Hmmm, also, will Super System be ever explained? Arh, more ???...
