Late at night, the loud noises from a magic store in the Dark Moon City awoke the nearby demons. The shouts followed could be heard by almost the entire street, “Royce! You dare to destroy Young Master Alan’s plan! Today, I’ll ruin this magic store!”
In a distance, Royce’s angry voice was sounded, “Mikas!”
Mikas who destroyed the magic store heard the voice, and he didn’t dare to fight and disappeared in the blink of an eye. When Royce rushed to the magic store, the surviving lich, Grougis pointed in fear at the direction where Mikas escaped to.
After some time.
At the city gate, Mikas’ high-speed running figure stopped. Ganke was Alan’s subordinate, so he naturally recognized the Karon Family’s Higher Demon. Right after Ganke shouted “Sir Mikas”, he saw Mikas threw over a space bracelet in front of other soldiers, and he quickly caught it.
“I was blocked by Royce on my way back. Immediately pass that to Young Master Alan! Within it are the items I stole from the magic store...”
Before Mikas could finish his words, Royce’s voice sounded from behind, “Mikas, you dumbass; I’m going to kill you!”
Mikas had no time to say more; his figure moved and ran forward like wind, disappearing beyond the city gate. Ganke just kept the bracelet, then he saw Royce’s figure appeared instantly before him and he was shocked. Fortunately, Royce was eager to catch Mikas, so he didn’t “pay attention” to such minor character. Royce as well, moved his body slightly and disappeared on the spot.
Some time passed again.
Royce appeared at the city gate with a dispirited look, and there were also a few wounds on his body, then he disappeared instantly again.
Ganke had rushed to Alan’s mansion and gave the space bracelet to Alan. Alan opened it and saw a lot of magic equipment. After listening to Ganke’s story, he was wondering: Wasn’t Mikas going after Aguile? How did he have a dispute with Royce? Are these things robbed from the magic store? Yet, Mikas did a good job. There are two expensive magic equipments of superior quality that are not for sale. I have been eyeing on them for a long time; he actually got it for me this time. It seems that he is really tactful. It’s just that Joseph isn’t around in the Dark Moon, what should I do to settle this mess?
Right at that moment, a strange metallic voice sounded from the entrance, “The guy from the Karon Family! Get out now!”
A succubus came to report in a rush, “This is bad! Young Master Alan, Arux and Royce are fighting their way here with Sir Mikas’ corpse.”
Mikas is dead! The news shocked Alan shocked. He felt that things were getting increasingly strange, but he couldn’t figure it out at once. He hit the table furiously, “Damn, can someone tell me what’s happening?”
Tonight was destined to be a lively, sleepless night.
Early the next morning, the entire Dark Moon City was enthusiastically discussing the series of big events that happened last night.
Yesterday evening, a shocking event happened at the arena. No. 64, Aguile defeated Reka and publicly exposed the ugly act of cheating between Sheriff Alan and Balrog, Reka. As a result, Reka was killed by Arux who was the arena’s owner. Arux then announced an astonishing news that after a month, Aguile would directly challenge Arux him.
However, these were only the beginning of the shock. When Aguile left the arena, he was retaliated by Alan; he was chased by the Karon Family’s Higher Demon, Mikas. At that time, the financial officer, Joseph Alvin’s subordinate, Royce bumped into them. As his good friend, Arux publicly announced the challenge after a month, Royce prevented Mikas from killing Aguile.
No one expected Mikas would use his flame to poison Royce when he wasn’t paying attention. At that time, Aguile had taken the opportunity to escape. Mikas failed to catch up Aguile, so he took his anger out on Royce’s magic store. He destroyed the magic store and stole everything. Royce, who was furious couldn’t bother about the poison, chased Mikas all the way to the outside of the city and killed Mikas. Also, previously when Mikas was passing the city gate, he passed the space bracelet with all the treasures robbed from the magic store to Alan through Ganke. This could be proven by all the guarding soldiers.
Royce who was poisoned went to Arux. They carried Mikas’ corpse and fought their way to Alan’s mansion, hurting many people. Even the most powerful Higher Demon, Sarado of the Karon Family was alarmed. Sarado and Arux battled fiercely and both were heavily damaged eventually. Royce and Arux returned to the arena to recover while Sarado retrieved Mikas’ body. Now, their relationship was extremely tensed.
When Mikas was destroying the magic store last night, if it wasn’t for Royce’s timely arrival, the lich, Grougis in the store would almost be killed. Many residents in the vicinity also heard the noise of destruction and Royce’s furious roar. Many people could vividly describe the situation at that time. Some even described as if they witnessed the battle between Mikas and Royce. As for the subsequent battle of Sarado and Arux, there were even more witnesses. Now, shocking traces of battle could still be seen around the area around Sheriff Alan’s mansion.
The two biggest forces in the city were at daggers drawn, and it might even escalate to war at any time. As the lord of Dark Moon, Princess Royal, Shea naturally couldn’t sit and not do anything. She specifically made Gauss mediate, and she warned them not to fight on a large-scale in the city.
In fact, the happiest party was the one that tried to mediate. When the despicable Old Gauss tried to “mediate”, he also appropriately used certain wordings that, on the surface, was to limit the two parties, but in reality, it was to instigate quietly.
Chen Rui who had been busy the entire night didn’t return to the lab to rest, but he appeared in the council hall of the palace.
“Chen Rui?” Shea hadn’t seen him for a month. There was a hint of joy in her eyes. She nodded and said, “You came. Did you hear about the big incident last night? That is truly a godsend opportunity!”
“Why does Princess Royal also believe in godsend opportunity? I would rather believe that it’s someone’s effort. Even the legendary goddess of luck will always care for those who are prepared.” Chen Rui smiled slightly, “I’m here today to report two important things to Princess Royal.”
Shea was really clever; she faintly understood the meaning behind Chen Rui’s words. The sudden conflict between Alan and Joseph actually had an inside story. Her eyes had a weird brilliance when she thought of Chen Rui’s plan of “letting them fighting against each other”, then she remained calm later, “Do speak.”
Chen Rui looked serious, “Princess Royal, please forgive me for asking a rude question. Would you trust me entirely?”
“You have already gotten my trust.” Shea frowned slightly, “Is there something that you want to say.”
“That’s good,” Chen Rui nodded. “I want to introduce someone to you. He may not meet you, but please trust him as much as you trust me.”
“Who?”
“The actual protagonist of last night’s incident, Aguile!”
The actual protagonist! Shea was extremely shocked. The cause of yesterday’s incident was because No. 64, Aguile publicly exposed Alan’s dirty plan at the arena. Yet, it later developed into the fight between the 2 huge forces. Without these follow-up events, Aguile who challenged Arux one month later would become the new focus of Dark Moon City. However, Aguile was only a small character in this huge incident now.
From Chen Rui’s tone, Aguile was the actual key person in last night’s “incident”! Almost everyone overlooked that!
“As long as Princess Royal can understand it, then it’s fine. The second thing is also discovered by Aguile. Princess Royal may already know that Cloak Gang has replaced Silva. He has discovered another important thing about the Blue Lava Estate. I hope Princess Royal can stay calm after listening.”
Blue Lava Estate? Shea was a bit curious. When she heard Chen Rui saying that Silva was smuggling demons to the Blue Lava Estate and she saw the badge that could safely pass the bandits, she suddenly stood up; there was an uncontrollable wrath flashed through her eyes, “Blue Lava Lord, Teton once angered the Lord of Midnight Sun, and he was almost deprived of his estate and family name. Fortunately, my father, Grimm pleaded and reassured, so he was excused from his punishment. After my father died, he even expressed his support for me more than once. I never thought he actually does such a shady business at the back!”
“Princess Royal, please calm down!” Chen Rui stood up and said respectfully, “The Dark Moon is in a bad situation now; you can’t make a move recklessly; we must be patient! On the surface, we have to maintain our “relationship” with the Blue Lava and solve the most important food problem as soon as possible. As for the bandits at the south, they can be annihilated at an appropriate time...”
Chen Rui glanced at Shea who had gradually calmed down and threw the badge in his hand, “This thing should be useful when the time comes.”
Shea nodded slightly and asked, “How’s your grand master test?”
“It’s half done. Although there is still danger ahead, the progress is still generally smooth. The actual test is at the end. I can properly rest in these 2 days.” The injury on Chen Rui’s right chest was quite serious. Although he took the Jade Pear and Healing Potion, he only slept for a few hours last night, so it hadn’t fully recovered. Yet, with the passive ability , it should be completely cured in two days.
“By the way, the magic powder is very amazing. The young dwarf’s ability is also not bad. After improving the poor-quality soil with the magic powder, crops can actually be planted successfully. Not only it shortens the maturity period by several folds, but the production has also increased greatly. I’ve made Gauss select a remote wasteland at the edge of the estate and begin to grow crops on a large scale. Once it’s successful, the Dark Moon can solve the biggest problem that lasts for thousands of years. We might even turn from a barren estate to the empire’s biggest breadbasket. It’s just that we’re lack of that magic dust. Can you continue to make more?”
“Is it? I just made a lot of magic dust as spare. I’ll arrange them and send them to the palace later.” That sentence obviously had the suspicion of showing off his accomplishments.
Seeing Chen Rui going through the dangerous inheritance trial, but he still didn’t forget to “produce” the magic powder, Shea’s eyes were filled with admiration. She then said, “Also, your plan is quite excellent. Alice’s Princess Retail Store’s business is amazing. The burr puzzle alone was sold for 50,000 black crystal coins. If you need money, you can tell me as half of this money is yours.”
Chen Rui shook his head, “It’s fine. I still have enough. The Dark Moon is in urgent need of funding for development. Princess Royal can rest assured to use the money how ever you want to.”
That was an actual truth as the huge amount of money he got from Silva was barely touched!
Shea looked at Chen Rui, didn’t say much and nodded lightly.
“Aguile has offended Alan this time. I’m thinking if Princess Royal can provide appropriate shelter for the Cloak Gang. For future planning, Cloak Gang is likely to become an important chess piece.”
Shea pondered for a while and shook her head resolutely, “Unfortunately, I can’t trust this person.”
