Chapter 658 - Titan
Chapter 658: Titan
The area of Storm Island was much larger than the Hidden Misty Island of the Dead Sea. Unlike the storm raging in the external sea area, there was no hurricane near the Storm Island which was shrouded in mist. It was as if the tornadoes were a barrier surrounding the Storm Island.
“Roar!“
The roar of beasts and the sound of beating against the water surface sounded among the mist. The roar quickly turned into a groan. Ina knew that at least 2 giant nether hydras were killed. This kind of murderous sea beast hidden in the mist to frighten adventurers would simply end up in tragedy upon meeting the more ‘murderous’ ‘Richard’.
In this situation, Ina and Lucio already had considerable immunity. Compared with breaking the tornado with bare hands, this was just a child’s play.
“There seems to be a ship on the shore in front!” Chen Rui’s voice sounded from the air, “Turn to the southeast direction 18 degrees. Hurry, go closer!”
The Devil’s Snare Ship quickly approached the island. No doubt, 2 ships were moored on the shore.
1 ship was shattered and seemed to have been attacked by a giant nether hydra. The other ship was relatively intact. There were no living people on both ships, only corpses.
The 2 ships should have arrived 1 after another. The corpses on the ship that arrived first were all caused by humans. Judging from the look of their attire, they were ordinary sailors, and they died for more than 1 day.
The ship that arrived later, which was suspected of being attacked by the nether hydra, should belong to Samuel. The cause of the people’s death was obviously the sea beast. Judging from the remaining blood stains, the time of death did not exceed 12 hours. This meant that it wasn’t long since Samuel went ashore.
Chen Rui looked at the magic compass that was unusable due to strong interference, “You guys wait for me here first.”
“I’ll go with you! Items like magic maps are not usable here.” Ina glanced at the special magic compass, “I have completed 2 collection missions here. I’m more familiar with the surrounding terrain than you. I should be helpful to you.”
Seeing the female mercenary’s resolute gaze, Chen Rui slightly pondered and nodded. He instructed Lucio and the sandmen to stay on the shore. With the firepower and sturdiness of the Devil’s Snare Ship, even if it encountered a sea beast’s surprise attack, it could handle it.
At this point, somewhere on Storm Island. Samuel whom Chen Rui was looking for was facing an intense battle.
There were corpses lying on the ground. Part of them were the Kemplot Family guards who came with Samuel, and the rest were naturally the enemies. Joanna was behind Samuel, surrounded by several guards. Although the enemy suffered a lot of casualties, the rest were about 30 or so elites in a circle. The front was a swordsman in armor, and the back was a magician holding a magic wand.
As far as individual strength was concerned, none of the opponents could match Samuel, but this group of enemies was all well-trained. They had a special combination formation that could disperse Samuel’s powerful attacks on everyone in the formation, so the damage was greatly reduced. Coupled with the intentional attack on Joanna, it distracted Samuel. They were in a stalemate for a while.
The last guard of the Kemplot Family collapsed. Samuel’s figure flashed in front of Joanna. As the long sword in his hand launched a light arc, blood splattered; the 2 swordsmen who were approaching were beheaded.
The blood was splashed on Joanna’s long dress. The fishy smell pierced through her nostrils. The young lady resisted the panic and kept quiet for fear of distracting Samuel. Her nails had penetrated deep into her flesh.
“[Dawn Extinction]!” Samuel shouted loudly. There was another sword in his hand, and a huge light mark appeared under his feet. With the swing of the 2 swords, countless crisscross sharp lights spread around. Compared with the past, this move had simplified a lot. There was not much of a fancy effect. The power did not decrease but increased instead. It was the result of Samuel’s improvement after listening to Chen Rui’s opinions.
After the light dissipated, the surrounded swordsmen collapsed in a circle. Even the magicians behind them were killed by this move.
Samuel once launched this move not long ago. At that time, the magicians used magical barriers combined with special formations to offset most of the power, so it only killed 4 enemies. The lethality this time was several times more than the last time. It was not that Samuel had hidden his strength previously, but he suddenly realized another magical use of [Dawn Extinction] at the moment of crisis.
The 2 long swords in Samuel’s hand only had 1 handle. It turned out that he had deliberately compressed the power, shattered the blade, and sprayed it out with the light of [Dawn Extinction]. It broke the surface with points, effectively penetrating the magician’s barrier to achieve a decisive result.
Although Samuel’s continuous use of killing moves had consumed a lot of power, the enemy only barely had 2 swordsmen leaders standing, and the magician behind had almost exhausted his magic power. Just like a wolf that had lost its claws with no threatening force.
“You are a Saint powerhouse indeed.” The leader swordsman clutched the cut in his abdomen that was penetrated by the short blade with blood constantly spilling between his fingers, “We have exhausted all means, but we are still unable to win despite you having to protect the hostage.”
“You are Light Knight? Tell the mastermind behind you! This is the only chance to survive!” Samuel’s endurance had improved greatly. He quickly adjusted his breathing. With a wave, a long sword from the ground came into his hand. Even if it was not a handy weapon, it was enough to deal with these remnants.
“You don’t need to know.” The swordsman sneered as if he didn’t put life and death in his eyes at all. Samuel knew at a glance that these were fearless warriors.
“Sir Hebel, did... Eliza ask you to do this?” Joanna’s trembling voice sounded. The 2 leader swordsmen Hebel and Lawrence were the Light Knights sent by Eliza to escort her back to Red Dragon City- Eliza was the one who came up with the idea this time for her to return to Red Dragon City in order to get rid of Paul.
To Joanna’s surprise, she actually did not go to Town Vegas of the Red Dragon City. Instead, she was held hostage on the most dangerous Storm Island. If this matter was instructed by her friend, Eliza...
“I’m sorry, Ms. Joanna, it’s impossible for you to get an answer from us.” Lawrence said, “I admit that we are not Sir Samuel’s opponent, but the real losers are both of you! You will all die here!!”
Samuel wouldn’t give the enemy the time to recover. He snorted and was about to finish off these people when his facial expression suddenly changed.
The ground began to shake as if something huge was gradually approaching here.
“Ah!“
In the woods, Ina’s screaming sounded. This was a black mutated wind leopard whose strength had reached C. It was far better than Mana’s tamed one. With Ina’s D-level strength, she couldn’t resist at all. She was about to be thrown to the ground, but the wind leopard’s movements stopped abruptly. A hand strangled on the wind leopard’s neck, and with a casual flick, the fierce beast was thrown away like a kitten. After breaking many branches, it barely recovered its balance in the air by relying on the instinct of cats before it rolled a few times on the ground, got up again, and limped into the depths of the jungle.
“Are you okay?” Chen Rui’s voice sounded. In fact, Ms. Guide, who was ‘familiar with the terrain’, actually got lost when she took the hirer through the woods. Chen Rui had no choice but to explore the way. When he returned, he happened to save the female mercenary who was sneak attacked by the wind leopard.
“I’m sorry.” Ina lowered her head guiltily. She felt that her strength was as fragile as a newborn baby here. If it weren’t for ‘Richard’, it would be difficult to move at all. She originally wanted to help, but now she had become a real burden.
“It’s not the time to talk about this.” Chen Rui knew that Ina was worried about Samuel, so there was no reason to blame her. He stretched out his hand, “I have found a way out, let’s go through the air.”
Ina nodded and grabbed his arm with both hands. Chen Rui’s feet flicked, and they rose into the air. At this moment, Chen Rui, whose spirit power was fully activated, heard a slight sound from the wind which seemed to be some kind of furious roar.
Chen Rui’s eyes flashed as he shouted to Ina, “Hold tight!”
In the basin, Samuel panted as he looked at the huge figure in front of him vigilantly. This was a ‘human’, a man, but this man’s height was too astonishing. He was about 10 meters tall and had short golden hair. His eyes flashed with pale golden light and his skin had a dark silver metal luster. He was wearing simple armor, exuding a terrifying aura.
When Samuel flew to the front and launched a desperate punch with his remaining power just now, it only left a dent on the dark silver skin which then recovered instantly.
The most powerful creature in Storm Island, titan!
titan was a legendary top existence that could directly use brute force to compete with the giant dragon family. It also had strong element power which could activate range attacks and was immune to all spiritual debuff magic.
Samuel didn’t want to take the initiative to attack this dangerous and powerful creature. He initially wanted to escape with Joanna, but Hebel and Lawrence led the magicians to entangle the 2 desperately. Finally, the titan’s huge figure appeared in Joanna’s horrified eyes.
titan had no distinction between enemies and friends. Perhaps in their eyes, all foreign races were invaders that must be killed. It stepped a magician into minced flesh as soon as it appeared. Hebel and several magicians were annihilated by the [Thunder] launched by titan. Lawrence’s feet also turned into coke due to the lightning that spread out. He fell to the ground and was unable to move.
If Samuel hadn’t carried Joanna to hide quickly, they would have followed in the footsteps of Hebel and the others.
The strength of this giant was at least 2 small realms higher than Samuel. Plus the powerful talent and combat power of the titan, it couldn’t be matched at all.
With the current strength of Samuel, it was difficult to escape alone, let alone with Joanna. Therefore, the Silver Knight chose to fight to the death. Unfortunately, he used too much energy previously to launch a desperate punch, but it did not even penetrate the titan’s skin.
“Haha! You get it now?!” Lawrence, who fell on the ground, laughed out loud despite his distorted expression in pain and dripping sweat, “Repeat it 1 one last time, let’s die together!”
Samuel gritted his teeth, leaped high, and swung his long sword with another dazzling slash. However, the effect was worse this time. After a few hurried rolls, he avoided the titan’s stomp. He tapped his feet and pulled the distance quickly.
The exhausted Silver Knight gasped violently. Suddenly, he seemed to sense something. He looked back at Joanna. Even though she was far away, he could clearly see her gaze.
In those beautiful dark blue eyes, there was no fear and anxiety as before. There was only a kind of tranquility that was already above the fear; a kind of no regrets of dying together.
Samuel felt the blood in his chest burned again, and his entire life burned. With a roar, a strong light burst out from his body. A powerful momentum surged toward the huge figure.
At this moment, he had surpassed his limit.
The titan’s pale golden eyes flashed. Facing the surging power, a trace of disdain passed in its eyes. It groaned and greeted him with a berserk breath of power..
As the 2 breaths resisted each other in the air, a series of long and narrow cracks quickly spread from the ground. The nearby soil and rocks were rolled up by the air current like a small hurricane.
Although Samuel had burned his full potential with his life, there was still a remarkable power gap between both sides. After holding on for a while, the Silver Knight was on the verge of collapsing. His feet moved backward involuntarily, leaving 2 deep grooves on the ground.
In the blink of an eye, the speed of retreat was getting faster and faster. His momentum was suppressed to the lowest point, and he finally could not stand it. His whole person was thrown away by that huge power.
Suddenly, a light flashed. Samuel, who lost his balance, was supported by a soft power and slowly descended to the ground. There were already 2 more people behind him, 1 man and 1 woman.
Lawrence looked at the familiar man in surprise as he blurted out, “Richard?”
Isn’t this Richard the beast tamer whom Ms. Eliza kind of admires? He also passed his Reserve Light Knight test with her special authority. Why did he appear here?
Samuel was surprised by their appearance, then he came to Chen Rui with a mix of emotion and shame in his eyes. He bowed his head and knelt down on 1 knee.
This action represented an absolute difference between superiority and inferiority. Not only Joanna and Ina, who knew Samuel’s arrogant personality well, but Lawrence also showed an expression of shock: A Saint powerhouse actually knelt to the mediocre ‘beast tamer’...
Chen Rui knew Samuel’s feelings well and didn’t say anything. He just patted him on the shoulder and motioned him to stand up. At this moment, the titan, who felt ignored, surged with a murderous aura as it strode toward them.
The titan only took 2 steps before its action suddenly stagnated. There was already a figure in front; it was Chen Rui.
Compared with the titan’s huge body, Chen Rui’s height could only be regarded as tiny. However, the titan’s eyes showed incomparable vigilance as if this tiny figure needed to be looked up at.
The titant’s power suddenly flourished; the lightning’s crackling sounded in its palm.
Before the titan could attack, Chen Rui suddenly shouted. The titan’s movements became stiff, and its huge body was actually blasted away by an intangible force. “Boom!” It fell on a distant mound, and the ground shook violently. A huge human-shaped pit appeared on the mound.
Except for Samuel, the rest of the people were completely shocked by this scene. He shook away the titan with just his momentum!
This is a titan that can easily suppress the strength of Samuel who is at Saint level!
TL: Are they safe now?
