Chapter 181 - Secret Treasure
Chapter 181: Secret Treasure
The reason why Royce’s father, Khan, was killed by the Red Spirit Lord, Josh back then was because of this secret treasure. As the illegitimate son, Ledo exposed the secret, Josh wanted to take the item but failed. Therefore, he killed Khan and destroyed the Kunda Family. The whereabouts of the secret treasure also disappeared along the way with no traces left.
In fact, the secret treasure’s clue was sealed into his son’s fiancée, Vasasha’s body by Khan with a secret bloodline technique. The condition for learning the clue was to “combine” Royce and Vasasha. Other than Royce, other men couldn’t find out even if they had sex with Vasasha. This secret was only known by Royce, not even Vasasha herself.
Now that Royce said that the clues of the secret treasure were acquired, it meant that Royce and Vasasha had completed a certain life event. That was why Chen Rui deliberately gave a mocking smile.
“This secret treasure is buried somewhere in the Red Spirit Estate, but the trouble is that I need to open it with my bloodline secret technique. I can’t leave for now. After Joseph obtains the devil fruit, he will leave for a while and concentrate on training to breakthrough the bottleneck. During that time, I will rush to Red Spirit Estate to get the secret treasure for Master.”
The three of them were all Chen Rui’s servants. Moreover, when Royce signed the master-slave contract, he said that he would offer the secret treasure. Thus, Chen Rui didn’t reject in a hypocritical manner, but asked, “What is this secret treasure? Why was your father unwilling to surrender?”
“This secret treasure is a necklace called the Evil Blue Tear. It was the top secret treasure of the Breeze Shadow Empire’s Belphegor Royal Family beside the Breeze Shadow Boots. Thousands of years ago, after the Breeze Shadow Empire was destroyed by the Illusive Demon Empire, the Evil Blue Tear was lost. After a few twists and turns, it fell into my father, Khan’s hands by accident.”
The Evil Blue Tear turned out to be the top secret treasure under the Belphegor Royal Family after the artifact, Breeze Shadow Boots! In other words, it was the lost treasure of Roman’s Sloth Royal Family. Chen Rui thought of Roman and asked curiously, “What’s with the Illusive Demon Empire?”
“The Illusive Demon Empire was an empire established by the Leviathan Royal Family, named after the artifact, Illusive Demon Shield. The original 7 empires in the Demon Realm are named after artifacts, just like our Fallen Angel Empire used “Sword of Fallen Angel” as our name. About 9,000 years ago, the Leviathan Royal Family conquered the Breeze Shadow Empire and the Belphegor Royal Family disappeared subsequently. However, after 3000 years, the Illusive Demon Empire of the Leviathan Royal Family was again conquered by the Bloody Empire. After so many years, the 7 empires established by the ancestors of the 7 royal families have only 3 left.”
It turned out that there were such grudges between the Leviathan Royal Family and Belphegor Royal Family. Chen Rui suddenly thought of Delia and Roman. They were born in rival royal families, and they actually became lovers. However, the grudges of the two empires were thousands of years ago. Everything was gone now, so there wasn’t the need to bother.
Chen Rui was also curious about the artifacts of the 7 royal families. The artifacts that he knew now were the Sword of Fallen Angel of the Lucifer Royal Family, the Dark Shadow Cape of the Asmodeus Royal Family, the Illusive Demon Shield of the Leviathan Royal Family, the God-Eating Mask of the Beelzebub Royal Family and Breeze Shadow Boots of the Belphegor Royal Family. The five pieces of equipment were different. Together with the other two artifacts of the royal families, it seemed that they could be combined into a complete set of equipment.
Chen Rui was about to ask questions regarding the artifacts of the other two royal families when he heard Royce continued to talk about the secret treasure, “This secret treasure is very magical as it can greatly enhance spirit in a short time. It can even hide the breath on the body so that others cannot see through your true strength. Yet, these are just its normal functions.”
If it can be activated by Belphegor Royal Family’s blood, then it can exert its truly strong ability! It was said that after activation, the bloodline talent, <The Eye of Evil> of the Belphegor Royal Family could be greatly enhanced. They could also rely on the <The Eye of Evil> to encourage the mutation of ordinary demons. Yet, this mutation had a huge side effect that greatly reduces the recipient’s lifespan and the effect was far inferior from the devil fruit. It is mainly for the benefit of the next generation. Nevertheless, this secret treasure that can change the bloodline strength still has a fatal temptation to demons that aren’t part of the royal family...”
Chen Rui nodded, “So the Evil Blue Tear has such function. However, speaking of this... what about your devil fruit? Why is your strength still not growing?”
Royce froze. Chen Rui recalled that he had given the fruit to Arux back then. Then, he glanced at Vasasha, who was a little nervous and smiled, “I guess you gave it to her.”
“Sorry, I didn’t get your permission.” As soon as Royce had finished speaking, he saw another devil fruit in Chen Rui’s hands.
“Take this and you must eat it yourself. Don’t give it to other people!” Chen Rui laughed, “Unfortunately, that single horn on Paglio’s head is about to become bald. He can’t squeeze any Jade Pearl out anymore. Otherwise, I would’ve given it to you guys.”.
Royce was excited: This isn’t a wild fruit but a treasure rare enough to wage wars! Although master may have devil fruits with him, everyone knows the yield and mature time of the fruit. Even if master has some, they are few in number. Master once exchange the devil fruit with Joseph for the Obsidian Heart and Vasasha. Yet, he still gives me another one unconditionally. In fact, this is the second one!
Not only that, more importantly, Chen Rui brought Vasasha’s body and heart back to him. Other than following faithfully and giving his full-hearted efforts, Royce couldn’t think of other ways to repay Chen Rui’s kindness.
Arux and Vasasha felt the same way.
Chen Rui saw Royce’s excited look and said, “That’s it. Stop daydreaming. Bring me the magic materials’ samples quickly as I need them urgently. Also, for the Evil Blue Tear, you should head to the Red Spirit Estate as soon as Joseph left. That item might have a great function for me.”
The greatest function of the Evil Blue Tear was to enhance <The Eye of Evil>, which requires the blood of the Belphegor Royal Family to activate. Chen Rui obviously had no use of that function as he had <Camouflage>, and the function of hiding breath was useless too; what he needed was the ability to greatly improve his spirit because <Deep Analysis> needed spirit the most. With the Evil Blue Tear, he believed that the progress of decoding the “God-Eating Mask” would greatly increase.
When Royce heard that, he left immediately and soon brought a space bracelet with samples of magic materials back. These materials were really high grade. Many could be converted into aura. Chen Rui made a list, added some irrelevant materials and then asked him to contact Joseph.
Unsurprisingly, Joseph was surprised when he saw the quantities of materials that “Aguile” was asking for. However, the devil fruit was too important for him. Now that he was asking for help, he had to submit, so he asked Royce to follow suit.
Royce deliberately said that he managed to “reduce” a considerable portion of the materials. Joseph indeed didn’t suspect and complemented Royce instead. However, Joseph didn’t know that those were just materials that couldn’t be converted.
As the security was quite tight, Chen Rui had been training in a secret room at the arena’s basement usually. Vasasha would take care of his diet while Arux maintained the normal operation of the arena to avoid suspicions.
Another 2 days had passed. Vasasha reported the news from Royce that Joseph had finally returned. He asked to meet with “Aguile” at the agreed venue.
Chen Rui thought for a moment before he left Vasasha at the arena and went to the northern suburbs for his appointment. As Vasasha and Royce got back together, her spiritual level had changed a lot. Also, after consuming the devil fruit, her strength was greatly improved. With Joseph’s intelligence, he would likely see through. For this reason, Royce was cautious that he hadn’t consumed the devil fruit for the time being.
In the northern part of Black Mountain, Joseph brought someone and were both waiting for “Aguile’s” arrival.
This man was old; he had white hair and beard; he had a slender build; he was holding a cane in his hand. He looked like an old man in his late years. However, in the Red Spirit Estate, no one except the Red Spirit Lord and a few people dared to disrespect this old man called Flandy.
Flandy was Joseph’s strongest supporter, an elder of the Red Spirit Estate and a powerhouse at the peak of Demon King. He also had an unusual identity: Leviathan Royal Family. Flandy Leviathan!
The Illusive Demon Empire had been destroyed for many years. Leviathan Royal Family had since scattered around. 300 ago, Flandy was rescued by Red Spirit Lord, Josh when he was dying. In return, Flandy volunteered to assist Josh. Generally speaking, the royal families had their own dignity and pride. Even if the royal family was in dire situation, they would still choose to follow other royal families. Therefore, situations where they follow ordinary demons were rare.
Josh gave Flandy a great deal of respect, so he was granted the title of elder in the Red Spirit Estate and enjoyed the treatment of as an honored guest. When Flandy came to Red Spirit Estate, Joseph was only around 10, but he had already started scheming. He began to please Flandy deliberately and got his favor. Later, when Kanita grew up and fought against Joseph for the successor’s place, Flandy stood on Joseph’s side without hesitation. He became the most solid backing.
The devil fruit was very important to Joseph, so he invited Flandy to come along this time when he went back to the Red Spirit. One of the reasons was to avoid changes and the other was to further confirm the identity of this Beelzebub heir. The collaboration with “Aguile” was very important, so Joseph didn’t want to take any risk.
They waited for a while, but they still didn’t see Aguile around. When Joseph was frowning, Flandy suddenly looked up to the sky alertly. He saw a small black spot gradually getting bigger in the sky.
Joseph also saw it. It was a wyvern. The wyvern found the two, hissed and flew toward them quickly.
There was someone standing on the wyvern’s back, wearing a cloak and a mask. It was “Aguile”.
The wyvern landed very quickly. This wyvern had no saddles, so “Aguile’s” beast-taming skills must be exceptional. Yet, what surprised Joseph and Flandy most was the strength of the wyvern.
The peak of Demon King!
The strongest Demon King-level wyvern! Putting him into any wyvern’s lair, this mutated wyvern would probably become the ruler. Unexpectedly, it was actually just “Aguile’s” mount!
The strength of demonic beasts was stronger than ordinary demons at the same level. Even if Flandy was a royal family member, he didn’t have much confidence in defeating this wyvern.
“Aguile’s” personal strength definitely hadn’t reached the peak of Demon King. For him to mount such a powerful demonic beast, it wouldn’t be possible no matter how good his beast taming skill was. This wyvern must be tamed by other Belphegor Royal Family’s another powerhouse before giving it to “Aguile”.
Chen Rui jumped down from the wyvern and pointed to the back. The wyvern nodded and stepped back obediently. That action startled Joseph again as such beast-taming skill was at least 10 times better than him!
Would the meeting turn out to be a fight?
