Chapter 422 - Suspicion and Persuasion
“He killed Hemos! He severely injured Hesak!” Hegel’s maroon eyes carried an unabashedly terrifying murderous aura, “Not only that, many dark elementals also died in his hands!”
Lambost did not give in this time, “Elements are a part of nature. Life and death are nothing more than the change of existing forms. In order to restore power, didn’t you sacrifice more lives in the 3 dark places?”
“Those are just the lowly lives of demons. It should be an honor for them to be able to be a part of restoring my power.” Hegel showed a disdainful expression and looked directly at the Water Elemental King, “You really want to go against me to help these demons?”
“I can ignore those lives, and I can even use my own power to help you recover, but you should understand the most important point! The enemy of 3 Kings of Darkness should not be the 3 Kings themselves!” Lambost’s voice suddenly changed to a rarely dignified tone, “I’m not doing this for the sake of demons, but for the elemental covenant. If you risk disintegrating the elemental covenant because of your personal grievances, I will stop you at all costs!”
As he said, a horn appeared in front of Lambost. The horn was entirely blue and emitting a faint light, “Hegel, do you want me to blow it?”
Hegel’s eyes narrowed slightly. This was the blue horn that would summon the water elemental army. It seemed that Lambost was being serious. Hegel had not yet recovered to his peak state now, so he was not Lambost’s opponent. Besides, there was a powerful and hostile dragon next to him. Even with Bridget, he couldn’t win. Moreover, the elemental covenant mentioned by Lambost really made him have scruple.
The Dark Elemental King’s fierce glare finally gradually calmed down under the confrontation with the Water Elemental King. He said coldly to Chen Rui, “For the sake of the 2 kings and elemental covenant, I will let you go today. Elementals will not simply intervene in the dispute between you demons, but if you reappear in front of me as an enemy next time, I will never be merciful!”
Looking at the clouds gradually dissipating in the sky and the dark elementals beginning to retreat, everyone including Paglio and Chen Rui suddenly felt like they were in a dream.
In any case, the terrifying smoke finally dissipated. They only felt lucky and surprise for surviving a disaster.
“Is Azgalor in your hands?” A cold voice sounded; it was Bridget.
Chen Rui’s battle exposed his identity as the “Beelzebub Royal Family”, and Bridget’s question clearly showed that he was a member of Bloodfall.
Although Chen Rui had long guessed that the Town Lupin incident was related to Bloodfall, the power of Bloodfall was beyond his expectation. They were actually related to the Dark Elemental King.
Chen Rui thought, “Azgalor was taken away by one of my allies, we did not do it.”
The identity and power of the Dark Moon’s “Aguile” had basically been exposed in the eyes of Bloodfall, and Paglio’s strength was also exposed, but the “power” behind “Aguile” would make Bloodfall even more fearful. The so-called Cloak Gang or deputy leader should be a diversion; his real power was unfathomable.
There was at least 1 peak stage of the Demon Overlord dragon that could rival the Elemental King. Aguile himself was also the peak of the Demon Emperor powerhouse who was close to a Demon Overlord, plus a mysterious ally who could “take away” Azgalor. Perhaps there were even more unknown powerhouses.
Sure enough, Bridget remained silent. His ambiguous face seemed to be lost in thought.
After a while, Bridget raised his head, but he ignored Chen Rui and Paglio. Instead, he cast his gaze at Athena.
“Your name is Athena, right? I like your singing, this is for you.”
After speaking, a light red light slowly flew toward Athena. Paglio appeared in front of Athena in time, and he grabbed the thing vigilantly, but he frowned and handed it to Athena.
When Athena saw it, it turned out to be a pair of wristbands that exuded strange power fluctuations. She could not help but to reveal a surprise expression. She didn’t expect that the enemy would actually give her something. Just when she was about to speak, Bridget’s figure had disappeared.
Chen Rui set his sight on the Water Elemental King Lambost. If it weren’t for Lambost just now, Paglio might be able to escape by himself, but he, Athena and the others would be annihilated.
Lambost spoke, “I don’t know how you gained the trust and friendship of the Earth Elemental King, but there is no doubt that the element blessing on you has saved your life.”
“Is it because of the elemental covenant?” Chen Rui heard this term for the first time. And also the 3 Kings of Darkness. There are 6 kings in total. Could the 3 Kings of Darkness be earth, dark and water elements? Then there are 3 Kings of Light? Judging from the attributes of elements, it should be their mortal enemy, wind, light and fire element?
“You don’t need to know this. Let me ask you, what is the name of the current Earth Elemental King?”.
“Moore.”
“Go and tell Moore that I’m waiting for him in the Dead Sea. I have an important thing for him.”
“I will definitely tell him,” Chen Rui nodded and did not ask much in this regard. He changed the topic, “May I ask Your Highness Lambost, what is going on with Town Lupin? Have all the townspeople been killed?”
“In the Elemental War, the Earth Elemental King died and the Dark Elemental King was severely injured. He needs 3 sources of darkness and a large number of living beings sacrificed to recover his power. Town Lupin... is already the third place. There is a darkest source in the dark element underground, and there are dense living beings on the ground. With my help, Hegel has basically recovered, but he still needs to rest for a while to return to his peak state. Otherwise, the dragon may not be able to suppress him.” Lambost glanced at Paglio, and the poison dragon snorted coldly and did not refute. It could be seen that the Water Elemental King was not lying.
“Your Highness helped Hegel... sacrifice so many living beings?” Chen Rui frowned slightly. Judging from Lambost’s words, I’m afraid that there is no living person in the entire Town Lupin, including Chandler’s son whom Sumen is looking for.
Lambost faintly replied, “We didn’t need so much initially, but at Hegel’s request, I helped another person who needs dark power to break through the bottleneck... For elements, any life or death is just a change of existence form. One day, you, me, and all living beings will face this moment.”
Chen Rui took a deep breath, “Those lives are not elementals.”
“I have been watching the battle just now. Although you are still quite far away from the level of Demon Overlord, your territory power is very peculiar. It seems to contain a trace of the rudiment of the rule of time. Even a real Demon Overlord may not be able to realize this rule. It seems that the Earth Elemental King Moore really has a unique vision for choosing you as the object of blessing. Then, for Moore’s sake, I would like to advise you one last thing. Weakness and innocence will only be a burden of a powerhouse. In the eyes of the supreme gods, all creatures are nothing but toys.” Lambost’s calm and peaceful voice revealed a kind of indifferent coldness. The space beside him gradually distorted, and Lambost disappeared without a trace.
Chen Rui was silent for a while. Paglio walked over and patted him on the shoulder, “It’s not the time to be in a daze, I’m leaving now.”
Chen Rui understood the meaning of the poison dragon and nodded. Since the crisis had passed, Paglio, the “dragon powerhouse”, should disappear and return to the identity of Aguile. Meanwhile, Chen Rui would appear as a financial officer who was “knocked off” by Athena before the war.
However, there were still many doubts in the mind of the financial officer who had just “woken up”.
The source of darkness is the root cause of the extinction of Town Lupin. This can be concluded, but what is the relationship between Bloodfall and the dark elementals?
And who is the “person who obtained the dark power and broke through” whom the Water Elemental King mentioned?
What role does Bloodfall play in this?
Who is Bridget? How much hidden power does Bloodfall have?
The Dark Elemental King said that elementals will not simply intervene in the dispute of demons, then he vaguely stated in front of the Water Elemental King that he will not take the initiative to seek revenge from “Aguile”, so there’s no need to worry about it for the time being.
Chen Rui was also doubtful of some details from the past to the present, but he could be sure that the focus of the Dark Moon now was the Fallen Angel Capital and Prince Obsidian. I will probably face Bloodfall again in the future. Therefore, I will once again encounter Bridget and Dark Elemental King Hegel. I must become stronger as soon as possible. Today’s scene of burdening friends and unable to protect my lover must never happen again!
In this battle, the Flame Legion’s elite lost 361 people. 540 people were seriously injured, and there were more with minor injuries. As for the Blue Lava Estate Army, adding the original left-behind army plus the soldiers Sumen brought from Town Lupin, fewer than 800 soldiers survived.
After this fierce battle of life and death, both the Flame Legion and the Blue Lava Estate Army that luckily survived had passed a true battle test. If they were trained properly, their combat power and willpower would be improved in terms of quality.
When Chen Rui came to Athena as a “financial officer”, Athena was talking with Sumen. As for Paglio, after showing up as Aguile, he went to the tent to heal.
“Thanks to miss and Sir Aguile’s rescue this time, otherwise my soldiers and I will be buried in Town Lupin.”
The reason why Sumen called Athena “miss” instead of legion leader or madam was because he used to serve under Athena’s father General George, but he was transferred to the Blue Lava Estate 30 years ago; Athena was not born yet at that time.
With this relationship, plus the fight against the dark elementals just now, the Dark Moon Army and the Blue Lava Estate Army seemed to be very close.
“General Sumen is being polite. According to you, Lord Chandler is dead, and his only son, Tagow, was also killed in Town Lupin, so what are your plans?”
Sumen sighed, “I am incompetent. I have failed Sir Chandler’s last entrustment. The blood of the Abbas Family was cut off because of me. The people of the Blue Lava Estate have lost their true controller.”
“This must be General Sumen, right? Sorry, can I say a few words?” said Chen Rui.
Athena quickly introduced both parties. When Sumen heard that the powerless guy in front of him was Athena’s fiancé and the famous financial officer of the Dark Moon, he nodded slightly, “Sir Chen Rui, please go ahead.”
“Why does the general think that the Abbas Family must be the controller of the Blue Lava Estate? As far as I know, Lord Titan only began to serve as the Blue Lava Estate Lord because he accumulated military credit back then. As for Lord Chandler, he is only considered an acting lord. He has not been officially appointed by the capital, let alone the unfortunate Tagow.”
“As for the Lord Titan, he ignored Crown Prince Grimm’s life-saving grace. He was good to the Dark Moon on the surface, but he had been smuggling the Dark Moon’s resources and population secretly. When the Dark Moon was at the most difficult time, he even cooperated with the Red Spirit Lord to invade the Dark Moon! To put it bluntly, he can be described as ungrateful, despicable and shameless! Not only that, the lord is also aggressive, cruelly exploiting and suppressing the people in the estate. The Blue Lava Estate is full of complaints. The situation became even worse after Lord Chandler assumed the position. There were famines, and the people had no means to live in the estate. Can such a lord lead the people to stability and prosperity? Look at the current Blue Lava Estate, and then look at the Dark Moon. There are some words that I do not need to say further, the facts tell everything.”
Chen Rui’s remark made Sumen lower his head and sigh, “Lord Titan has a life-saving grace for me, so...”
“Along the way, I have heard about the deeds and prestige of the general. After you are declared a rebel, there are still such loyal soldiers following you. You are definitely a brave, upright and respectable leader. Then think about it, general. Because you want to repay the so-called life-saving grace, are going to put the entire people of the Blue Lava Estate in famine and ruin? What’s more, you have worked for the Blue Lava Estate for 20 years and loyally assisted his son, Chandler, after the death of Lord Titan. You also risked your life to come to Town Lupi. It was enough to repay him.”
Sumen was silent for a moment and looked up, “Then, Sir Chen Rui, please teach me what should I do?”
“First, you must expose the conspiracy of the fake lord, then a new lord must be promoted. As for the new lord... or the Young Master Tagow, I believe Lord Chandler will definitely have relevant proof before entrusting the general.”
When Sumen heard the last sentence, he was taken aback, “Sir means that...”
Seeing him understand the meaning, Chen Rui nodded, “We must first stabilize the situation of the Blue Lava Estate. We will provide the greatest assistance, and then let the people of the Blue Lava Estate gradually get out of famine and chaos. As for later... Sir Titan was able to rely on military credits to be the lord at the beginning, so General Sumen can rely on the credit of stabilizing and developing the Blue Lava Estate to go further.”
Sumen was suddenly shocked as he did not expect that the other party would say this. Chen Rui smiled and said, “The fact is that Abbas’ blood has been cut off. For the people of the Blue Lava Estate, general should also take your due responsibility, but these things should not be rushed. General can use Tagow’s name to control the power of the estate first. Everything is for the sake of the people of the Blue Lava Estate.”
Athena also said a few words on the side. When Sumen’s eyes were getting enthusiastic, Chen Rui and Athena looked at each other and smiled.
Would Chen Rui fight alongside the 3 Dark Elemental Kings one day? What would King Moore choose if he were to choose between Chen Rui and the elemental covenant (that had joined the Bloodfall)?
