Chapter 419 - King! The Strongest Enemy
Chapter 419: King! The Strongest Enemy
Chen Rui looked at Athena. Fortunately, there were no signs of injury, “Athena, you are fine!”
Athena shook her head, “The enemy’s strength is very strong, and they also have a kind of strange attribute. More than 100 of our soldiers are killed, and many of them are severely injured. The most important thing is that the escape road is also cut off by the strange power. If we are unable to retreat, it is equivalent to being trapped here. If this continues, I’m afraid the loss will get bigger and bigger. You try to treat these wounded soldiers first. I will lead some people to hold up ahead.”
These were the elites trained by her and Arux personally. Every death was distressed for her, but this was inevitable. In the true heads-on collective war, zero casualties were just a beautiful legend.
As Chen Rui’s mind shifted, a 3 meters tall tree appeared on the ground. It’s whole body was lush. The soldiers who were about 30 meters around the tree immediately felt that their recovery speed of physical strength and spirit power had greatly accelerated. Even the wounds seem to heal. It was the Yuan Recovery Tree of the Super System which could quickly restore physical strength and magic power. It could exist for up to a month. It was usually used for physical recovery for special training, but it came in handy now.
Chen Rui successively planted several Yuan Recovery Trees which enabled the soldiers including the Blue Lava Estate Army to quickly recover. At the same time, he exchanged a large batch of healing medicines and spirit potions in order to quickly treat the injuries and strengthen their resistance toward the dark elementals’ [Punishment ] attribute.
However, the dark elementals’ offense was still vigorous. Although the Flame Legion was well-trained and well-coordinated, Athena couldn’t seem to hold for long because of their weak overall strength.
Chen Rui arrived in time and used the Northsea sword to kill the B-level elite elementals who trapped Athena, then he charged into the enemy group alone. With a big aoe attack, [Destructive Aura Blow], countless slashing sword qi instantly cleared out the surrounding dark elementals. He finally stabilized the situation.
However, [True Destructive Aura Blow] could only be used once an hour. Although he could hold the battlefield temporarily, the next battle would be more difficult. Chen Rui suddenly slapped his forehead, I was eager to break out of the siege just now. How can I forget the treasure?
It turned out that on the way to the Blue Lava Estate, Chen Rui had already used the yuan tortoise stone, obtained from the Chandler’s treasure trove, together with other materials to refine and craft a Mystic Jade Armor.
Mystic Jade Armor (light armor)- Increases movement speed and spirit power; halves long-range damage. Supplementary skill: [Hot Blood Halo]. Increases the speed of allies within 100 meters, increases attack power, and is able to target support units. Can only be used every 6 hours; the effect lasts for 1 hour each time.
Thinking of this, Chen Rui immediately equipped himself with the Mystic Jade Armor. The supplementary skill of Mystic Jade Armor didn’t need to be activated by absorbing the enemy’s power to accumulate power like Northsea; it can be activated directly. The only drawback was that it could only be used every 6 hours.
After the [Hot Blood Halo] was activated, mist with red light faintly appeared under Chen Rui’s feet. A similar red light appeared under the feet of all the targeted soldiers within 100 meters, but the color was much lighter. In an instant, their speed and attack power increased tremendously. Chen Rui also urgently used bestow fruit to bestow Stridebug’s power to Athena and several elite leaders.
His own combat power greatly increased, coupled with the unparalleled bravery of the leader, “Aguile”, and the Blue Lava Estate remnants, the army morale was greatly boosted instantly.
However, the number of dark elementals were significantly reduced, and their strength was still stronger. After a long time, it was still difficult to resist the enemy.
The biggest problem now was that the escape route was also blocked. Judging from the bone tower situation just now, they could only hold on until Paglio came over. Otherwise, even escape was a problem if they couldn’t crack this strange force field similar to the territory..
At this moment, Chen Rui sensed Paglio’s position again in his mind. As soon as he raised his head, he saw 2 smoke-like figures approaching here quickly. These 2 figures were extremely fast, and they were clashing and separating from time to time in the air. Each collision would cause a corresponding impactful shock on the ground. The dark elementals below had already taken the opportunity to retreat, and the offense had slowed down.
Chen Rui’s pupils contracted slightly. One of the 2 figures in the air is Paglio. In this head-to-head confrontation, the other party actually showed no disadvantage!
Paglio is an outstanding peak stage Demon Overlord, who is far beyond Azgalor and others. Although he has been sealed for 2,000 years, he has made a great leap in strength due to the black potion and artifact equipment. Even if he is against Catherine, the winner is still unknown. Yet the opponent and him are in a stalemate!
With Chen Rui’s eyesight, he barely saw the figure clearly when the 2 sides paused for a split second after the clashing. It was a tall figure with maroon light glowing in its eyes. There seemed to be bone spurs on its shoulders and elbows. Its body was wrapped in a faint black mist, but Chen Rui couldn’t see its face clearly.
This appearance was quite close to the dark elementals. Even if the 2 were outside the range of [Analytical Eyes], Chen Rui could still guess the identity of this terrifying powerhouse, which was exactly what he was worried about – Elemental King!
It turns out that the one that made Lupin a dead town is actually one of the 6 Elemental Kings, the Dark Elemental King!
Elemental King was at the pinnacle of the elements pyramid and the top-level creature of the Demon Realm. It was already at the Demon Overlord level since it was born, and it had no life limit. The older it was, the stronger the accumulated power. Of course, they were not immortal, and they would also die for various causes.
The king was born with the might to govern the elementals of its own element, and the king of each element was exclusive. In other words, the most basic condition for the new Elemental King to be born was that the previous king had died.
Judging from the power displayed by the Dark Elemental King, he was far better than Earth Elemental King Moore and was comparable to Paglio. Therefore, he must be a veteran king with considerable years of existence.
Under normal circumstances, the Elemental King will not participate in the ordinary battles of the Demon Realm. Why is the Dark Elemental King related to Bloodfall?
The battle between the 2 major Demon Overlords in the air was still intense, and it was difficult to tell the outcome depending on the situation. 3 “light smoke” fell from the air again, appearing in the dark elemental camp.
The attack of the dark elementals stopped immediately, and they stepped back behind the 3 figures in an orderly manner.
These were 3 dark elementals. Although the Great Demon Kings could already be called elite elementals, these 3 were the real elite.
The 3 figures’ comprehensive strengths were A+, A, and A-, which were exactly the 3 levels of the Demon Emperor.
Demon Emperor level elementals!
The power of this group of dark elementals, both individually and comprehensively, far exceeds the earth elementals of Mountain Xilang!
It was not that the earth elementals were weaker than the dark elementals. The environment of the Demon Realm was the most suitable for the development of dark elementals, but the most important thing was that the birth time of the Earth Elemental King was too short. There was once a Demon Emperor level elite under him, but it was killed in the battle with Glorfin 400 years ago.
Chen Rui hinted Athena to lead the army to retreat. The battle at this level was no longer what she and Flame Legion could cope with.
Although Chen Rui defeated the Red Spirit Lord Josh, the elementals had innate talents that ordinary trainers and even royal families couldn’t match. Their strength was generally better than that of trainers of the same level. Josh’s strength might only be equivalent to the dark elemental of the early stage of the Demon Emperor.
I must defeat these 3 dark elementals of Demon Emperors to have a chance of escaping!
This should be the biggest test that Chen Rui encountered after he was promoted to the five-star Star Lord.
The facial features of the Demon Emperor level dark elementals were quite clear, but they didn’t have any gender distinctions. Their bodies were covered by black mist, vaguely revealing bone spurs which looked very spooky. The dark elemental at the early stage of the Demon Emperor stepped forward. Its gaze swept across the retreating soldiers at the back with disdain, and it finally locked his gaze on Chen Rui, who was standing still and dressed in a cloak. It simply said a word, “Die!”
As soon as it said it, its figure had appeared in front of Chen Rui. Its fingers, that exuded black smoke, showed sharp claws which were about half a meter long and grabbed toward Chen Rui with incredible speed and power.
Chen Rui, who was unable to deal with the situation at that instant, could only rely on Northsea’s sharpness to barely defend the claw. His arm was slashed by the claws when he was distracted for a moment. Blood spattered suddenly. Moreover, faint black smoke was coming out of the wound; he seemed to be poisoned. Athena and the soldiers were secretly worried in sight of that.
Chen Rui’s current show of power and breath was on par with the early stage of the Demon Emperor’s on the surface, so there was a flash of disdain in the eyes of the other 2 dark elementals of the Demon Emperor; they expected that their companion would surely win.
The dark elemental of the early stage of the Demon Emperor thought so too. It gradually increased the intensity of its attack, forcing Chen Rui to be breathless. It seemed that he couldn’t even use his territory.
In fact, Chen Rui had been estimating. Although the power of this dark elemental was powerful, he had a chance of winning. What he was estimating was the other 2 dark elementals at the Demon Emperor level.
This was not a contest field, but a battlefield of life and death. There was no fairness on the battlefield; only winners and losers. Once the opponent realized the threat he posed, it was very likely that they would join forces to kill him. If he fought against 3 at a time, it would be difficult to resist the enemy even if he used all his trump cards.
The show of weakness now made the other 2 refuse to take action. Chen Rui was just looking for a suitable opportunity to go all out in a surprise. It would definitely have a miraculous effect. This was the application of battle tactics.
By the way, there is also “that”.
“Bang!” Chen Rui blocked his opponent’s punch, and he was knocked backward by the aftershock. The direction happened to be 2 dark elemental elites of the Demon Emperor level. The intermediate stage of the Demon Emperor frowned, and a huge scythe appeared in its hand. It was the strongest dark element single target magic, [Dark Blood Scythe].
It seemed that this intermediate stage of the Demon Emperor didn’t mind giving the last blow to the unlucky enemy who was knocked flying toward it.
The early stage of the Demon Emperor in front had also leapt over. Even if Chen Rui could dodge the [Dark Blood Scythe] behind him, he couldn’t escape this fatal blow.
Opportunity! Chen Rui’s mind shifted at that instant, and he had quickly activated the [Battle Enhancement] in the spiritual link.
[Battle Enhancement] required 100 faith crystals. Chen Rui’s current faith crystals were less than 400. He would use up a quarter of it. He initially wanted to save up to 1,000 to try [Royal Star Transformation], but it was a critical moment now. Obviously, it was not the time to consider this kind of issue.
In an instant, the bodies of Paglio and Chen Rui glowed with dark golden light at the same time. They felt their strength, speed, endurance and other qualities had increased by leapfold. Even the strongest true series black potions did not have this effect!
Almost in the blink of an eye, the situation in the field changed suddenly.
Chen Rui, who was about to be hit by the [Dark Blood Scythe], suddenly disappeared into the thin air. A bleak breath spread quickly and turned into a feeling of vitality. At the moment when 2 completely different breaths were converted, the people watching the battle around had an illusion at the same time; the movements of the 2 Demon Emperor dark elementals suddenly slowed down.
Even the peak stage Demon Emperor dark elemental who refused to make a move felt so. Immediately afterwards, countless stars suddenly appeared around. The 3 dark elementals all felt their power weakened, and they were all surprised: We, the dark elementals, who should be immune to the dark debuff magic like “weakening”, are actually weakened!
In the next second, Chen Rui’s figure appeared ghostly behind the intermediate stage Demon Emperor dark elemental. His [Aura Blade] slashed toward the opponent like lightning. His movements did not seem to be affected by the “slow”. Instead, he was several times faster.
The dark elemental of the intermediate stage Demon Emperor was taken aback. It immediately turned into a light smoke and dissipated. Chen Rui’s blade only struck the light smoke.
Almost at the same time, the dark elemental of the early stage Demon Emperor who pounced over saw a purple ray flying toward its head at a terrifying speed. Its figure leaped forward was like sending itself forward, so it couldn’t avoid the purple ray. It was shocked. The dark element ripples condensed into a black shield in an instant. However, the purple ray’s speed suddenly skyrocketed at the end. It quickly penetrated the black shield that had not completely condensed yet, and it hit right at its forehead. The terrifying sharp qi made the entire head instantly turned into nothingness.
This series of changes all happened in a split second before the “slow” effect disappeared. The dark elemental, Helor, of the peak stage Demon Emperor did not have the time to rescue them, and he exclaimed, “Hesak! Hemos!” (The dark elementals were previously described as “it”, now that they had names, they will be referred as “he”)
As soon as he called out, a few huge white light balls flew toward him. The destructive power from the light balls made Helor dare not let his guards down. When he opened his palm, a faint light affected the [Aurora Shot] and quickly weakened and swallowed the power of the light balls.
2 black wings appeared on Helor at the same time. The wing flappings produced mysterious power fluctuations in an attempt to cancel this territory that could weaken him. However, the opponent’s strength was obviously not as good as Chen Rui; his territory was very strange. The peak stage of the Demon Emperor’s territory power actually couldn’t shake or interfere with it.
When Helor eliminated [Aurora Shot] and tried to crack [Galaxy Territory], Hemos who turned into the light black smoke returned to his original human form, but there was a huge crack in the middle of the human form’s chest. The crack could not heal and was overflowing with black smoke.
Hemos never expected that this early stage of the Demon Emperor enemy, who couldn’t even match Hesak, would burst out with such a powerful strength. Although he luckily escaped the previous blow, the defense force of the intermediate stage of the Demon Emperor was useless under the opponent’s terrifying attack. Not only his body was hurt, even his soul was severely injured.
At this moment, a more dangerous feeling rose in his heart. He saw black flames emerging from the opponent’s body. The breath containing vitality made Hemos feel very uncomfortable, and the violent and turbulent power in the air almost suppressed the dark breath of the dark elementals to a low point.
Hemos was definitely not a weakling. With a shout, his body dispersed again, turning into a 4 meters tall beast exuding black smoke with 3 heads and 4 legs. It rushed toward the man in the cloak.
The man in the cloak had teleported behind Hemos in an instant. As Hemos turned his head, he saw red lights, and a spiraling huge beast exuding terrifying breath rushed toward him.
The strongest trump card, [Scorching Dragon Kill]!
He had already used a few of his powerful moves, but he still couldn’t kill any one of the dark elementals. Could he still win the battle on his own?
