Chapter 562 - My Past Self
Chapter 562: My Past Self
After leaving the palace, Old Cowen said earnestly to Redotan, “I know you still have some worries in your heart, but now that you have decided to be loyal to Her Majesty, don’t be hesitant. If you please both sides, you will be unable to make either side happy. When Her Majesty once served as the lord of the Dark Moon, the Dark Moon had 2 big families. The Saiful Family, who always followed her, is now in full swing. They are the top family of the Dark Moon. The Mellon Family, who opposed her, first surrendered and then became unstable. As a result, they were finally being suppressed until they disappeared. Now Her Majesty is obviously restricted. In this case, the sooner we stand in line, the better. Even if we become hostile to all elder families, as long as Her Majesty can fully control the capital, then our Toro Family status will be more and more consolidated, and our benefits will also increase. Otherwise, we will have a danger of destruction.”
Redotan frowned, “Father, do you think Her Majesty can fully control the capital? Even Prince Obsidian can’t...”
“So, now Obsidian is dead while Her Majesty Shea is still alive, and she has been recognized by the Sword of Fallen Angel.” Old Cowen said solemnly, “From the rise of the Dark Moon, it can be seen that Her Majesty is young, but her courage and means are far greater than Obsidian. I don’t know why but I have a hunch that maybe Her Majesty Shea can really realize the glory of the Lord of Midnight Sun and make the Fallen Angel Empire the number one empire.”
Redotan nodded. His father, Cowen’s vision, had always been very accurate. This was the case when he became Obsidian’s in-law, and now he looked highly of the new Empress Shea. He also attended the meeting during the day. Shea’s first proposal was met with a huge setback, but then she calmly transferred several representatives who opposed the most to the front line to deal with the foreign enemies. This was a dignified method with an ulterior motive.
Today, after the allegiance, Shea personally confirmed that the power of the capital must be reshuffled at this critical time. Then, the Blood and Iron Policy and conspiracy would be behind the overt plot.
From this perspective, the timing of the Toro Family’s allegiance was quite good. Timely help and extra support were 2 different concepts. Not to mention the fate of his wife and children was still in the hands of Her Majesty Empress. Whether it was for official or private reasons, he must vote for Shea’s side.
“Understood, father. From now on, the Toro Family will loyally follow Her Majesty Shea. This one is worth the bet.” Redotan nodded.
The palace hall.
“The Toro Family will be a starting point. Our next plan will unfold quickly.” Chen Rui saw Shea’s purple eyes were a little lost. Thinking of her previous emotional changes, his heart moved, “What are you thinking about? That little girl? “
Shea looked up and looked at the mask. A hint of gentleness was brimming in her purple eyes, “I’m thinking if it is a good thing to keep a guy who read my mind by my side.”
“If you don’t have this person by your side, it would be a pity.” Chen Rui said brazenly, “Does that little girl remind you of your past self?”
Shea was silent for a moment, “In fact, I once had a younger brother. In order to protect him, father had concealed his birth, but he still did not survive. Not long after Alice was born, mother and younger brother died in an accident. Even Alice didn’t know this secret. Subsequently, father died of grief and indignation.”
Chen Rui now only knew that there was such a secret past. It turned out that Shea’s father, Crown Prince Grimm, had been using Shea as a guise to conceal and nurture his son to be the true heir of the Dark Moon Estate in order to regain the empire, but he was still discovered. Obsidian should be the culprit behind the so-called man-made “accident”.
Obsidian was unable to directly attack Crown Prince Grimm and Shea under the pressure of General George and others. He could only control and suppress them. However, the son who was born in secret was different- Since he is a secret, then I will destroy him secretly. Then you can only swallow a bitter pill.
In a sense, the eldest daughter, Shea, was a “victim” that attracted the enemy’s attention. Hence, when Old Cowen and Redotan thought of sacrificing the little girl, Ling, in order to protect the baby boy, Shea’s always hidden emotions showed strange fluctuations. Murderous intent was born from this.
“I don’t know if I will really kill this pair of children. In fact, I’m weaker than I thought.” Shea sighed, “Sometimes kindness will only bring more troubles; the ruler must be ruthless.”
“People have their own bottom line and perseverance. Because of this perseverance, some people once said that I am foolish. To those who say meaningless things like kindness will make one weaker and weaker, they will never become a real powerhouse. My answer is that I can become stronger and fearless because of certain weaknesses. I’m not only saying that I did the same. I have persisted to this day, and I will keep on persisting in the future. “
Shea’s eyes were a little more teary, “Fearless persistence...”
Chen Rui scratched his head, “I’m talking about myself. As for the ruler... I have heard of the technique of a ruler and the way of a ruler, but I don’t quite understand it. The technique of a ruler should be a means of control and balance that manipulates people’s hearts and power. One continues to consolidate imperial power when the subordinates are fighting with each other. The way of a ruler means that a ruler must judge the time and the situation, make the best use of the material and talents, have a broad mind, and be open to all. It is not necessary to personally take care of every single aspect but a ruler must ‘act incapable as a capability’.”
Shea’s eyes flashed when she heard it. Although she didn’t understand some vocabulary, she basically understood the general meaning. It was the first time she heard such a detailed theory about a ruler. After thinking about it for a long time, she spoke up, “You mean, take the way of a ruler as the foundation and the technique of a ruler as a supplement; don’t just focus on small details and neglect the overall situation? As long as I make the entire empire stronger that is supported by the people, served by the army, heeded by the officials and nobles surrender, then those ill-intentioned people will naturally be deterred and dare not move rashly, and the ruler will truly have the will and supreme authority of the entire empire?
“I didn’t say that... but you are right.” Chen Rui lamented in his heart. This is the principle of “Where we stand depends on where we sit“. Don’t meddle in affairs that are not part of your position. The technique of a ruler and the way of a ruler are just some copied theories from my memory, but listening to Shea talking about the true ruler, she can relate this to her own personal experience and understanding.
“The grand master shouldn’t be a ruler right?” Shea’s face showed a gentle smile. The beauty of the iceberg melting was alluring, “I start to doubt you a bit now.”
Chen Rui replied with a serious face, “Actually, I’m a crossover from a place called the Earth. What I tell you is the knowledge I got in another world. This secret has been hidden in my heart for a long time. I feel so much better after saying it out now.”
A strange look flashed past Shea, “Is the Earth another name for the human world? Or should I call you Royal Highness Arthur or His Majesty?”
Chen Rui shrugged, “It’s not Arthur, it’s Chen Rui. Chen Rui’s Chen. Chen Rui’s Rui. In addition, just call me Royal Highness, Royal Highness Prince Consort.”
“Then, Royal Highness Prince Consort.” Shea smiled and said, “Can you answer a question? Who is the one who once said you were ‘extremely foolish’ and asked you to answer that way? Is it a beautiful lady? Do I know her? Or not?”
A drop of sweat slipped off Chen Rui’s face behind the mask. Woman’s intuition is sometimes more terrifying than wisdom.
“I want to know too.” Another voice in the hall also sounded. Chen Rui even started to sweat behind his back. A certain Ms. Fake Daze, whom he had asked to come deterred Old Cowen with her magic power, was keeping silent. She joined in enthusiastically as soon as she heard this topic.
Shea nodded thoughtfully, “So... can both Zola and I be excluded?”
“Judging from that tone, it doesn’t sound like Athena and Kia.” Next to Shea, Zola’s beautiful figure gradually became clear. Although Ms. Fairy Dragon and the new Her Majesty Empress had less contact in the Dark Moon and their relationship was average, when it came to situations that might be related to the “external enemy,” a feeling of resentment toward the same hatred arose at the same time.
Ms. Fairy Dragon added, “I remember Athena said that a foolish man had a woman in the Dark Shadow Empire long ago.”
Chen Rui burst into tears. Can’t your memory be worse?
Shea looked suspicious, “The Dark Shadow Empire? This is interesting news. Could it be the important person of the Dark Shadow Empire?”
Chen Rui broke out in a cold sweat. Feeling the 4 scrutinizing gazes, he wanted to learn from Ms. Fairy Dragon and pretend to say, “What?”
“After this, I will surely tell you the full story.” Chen Rui immediately shifted their attention, “What we need now is to buy time. Zola, you protect Shea. I will return to the Dark Moon immediately and bring a group of people over.”
“Hmph!” Zola replied with the sound from her nose.
Shea nodded and said, “Zola, we need to communicate more to see how many secrets this guy keeps. Especially about some women we don’t know. For example, I’ve heard the song “The End of “The World”. Have you heard it before?”
“”The End of the World”?” Zola glanced furiously at someone who was already drenched in sweat, and she shook her head, “I haven’t heard of it, but I’ve heard of a kind of top magic called ‘Doomsday Judgment’. “
When Ms. Fairy Dragon deliberately emphasized the word judgement, he sweated even more.
“Let’s go and find a more pleasing conversation place.” Shea ignored him as she took Zola’s hand and walked inside.
Chen Rui was stunned as he watched the 2 women walking away intimately holding hands. His first reaction was: I’m really self-defeating. Her Majesty Shea applied the technique of a ruler which she has just learned to my harem battlefield, attacking the distant...
I’m afraid that it will be difficult for the future crystal harem to be at peace. The male protagonist must always prepare for the worst blood sacrifice.
This palace is too dangerous, let’s go back to... the Dark Moon.
Shea is too vulnerable in the capital now. Even the guards are temporarily arranged by General George, so the royal guards must be changed. Currently, the capital’s intel organization urgently needs to be controlled by the Dark Moon’s people. Isabella is the most suitable candidate. Skye and Tetenis had promised to come and help, so they should leave as soon as possible. However, Zola’s Rainbow Valley space teleportation is not unlimited. The number of people who can pass through at 1 time is restricted.
If Catherine does not act beyond expectation, the Dark Shadow Empire will send a new envoy for peace talks as soon as possible. There will certainly be conditions, but it will never be as outrageous as mentioned by Liliz and Terdila. Once the enemies retreat, then Baroco and other people who go out as reinforcement would also return to the capital. Therefore, Shea doesn’t have much time left. I must hurry.
TL: He finally reveals the truth! They can never guess it’s Catherine 😏. Well, if they do... 🔪. Wonder what is Catherine’s decision 🤔
