Chapter 186 - The “Petty” Athena
Chapter 186: The “Petty” Athena
“You ran into Delia?” (The voice sounded startled.)
“She... is Christina?” (The voice actually sounded a little uncharacteristically bitter.)
“Asmodeus Royal Family’s daughter? At least Demon Emperor level?” (She bit her lips and asked.)
“You guys did it in Silent Night Wetlands...” (The envy contained in the voice turned out to be greater than the expected dissatisfaction.)
“She gave you the Blood of Nirvana?” (After surprise was silence.)
“Athena,” Chen Rui saw that she was silent and thoughtful. He quickly added, “Although she and I were an accident... but I...”
“You want to find her?”
“Let’s discuss that in the future...” Chen Rui smiled bitterly. Athena was not a woman who was good at hiding her feelings. He could see that she was in a complicated mood.
No matter which woman, she would definitely not be happy knowing that her man had an affair. Although his relationship with Athena was not yet clear at the time, the two’s relationship now had indeed reached the level of sharing everything already.
Athena was silent for a while. After a long time, she asked, “Is she... beautiful?”
Christina’s beauty was beyond Dark Moon’s number 1 beauty, Shea. No matter how stupid Chen Rui was, he knew that he could never praise another woman’s looks in front of a woman. He said vaguely, “The both of you are about the same, but you are slightly more beautiful.”
“Don’t try to make me happy.” Athena shook her head decisively. “The royal family, regardless of their gender, have the best appearances in the Demon Realm. The Queen of Asmodeus Catherine is also called the number 1 beauty of the Demon Realm.”
Chen Rui was very depressed. Why are women always so sensitive in certain aspects?
“I just want to make you happy; I like seeing your bright smile,” Chen Rui stroked Athena’s smooth face. “Remember this, no one can replace your place in my heart.”
“Hmph! Sweet-talking guy!” Athena said this, but her heart was actually comforted by it. She just felt sweet. Lying on his chest, listening to her man’s powerful heartbeat, and asked after a while, “What about Princess Royal?”
This girl, why did she come back to this after talking for a long time?
The secret room under the pool suddenly appeared in Chen Rui’s mind. Also, the dancing girl in the mirror and the talking wind chime. He sighed quietly.
“You also know that Princess Royal’s personality is as cold as icebergs and reserved. How dare I have improper thoughts about her? If she heard what you said, your man will not have a good life in the future.”
When Athena heard the words “your man”, she was embarrassed yet happy. She pouted and said, “I sent Dark Will to Dark Moon myself. If Princess Royal didn’t have you in her heart, how could she be willing to give you this secret treasure?”
“You always like to think wildly...” Chen Rui thought of the voice that the wind chime called his name for the last time and shook his head. “As for Christina, it was purely an accident. In my heart, having you with me for the rest of my life is enough.”
“Hmph! Don’t think I don’t know anything. Christina is your first woman; you won’t forget her,” Athena said indignantly. The point of her dissatisfaction was not another woman in Chen Rui’s heart, but that his “first time” was “taken” by the other party. His first woman should have been her, Athena Wales.
“Forget Christina.” Chen Rui secretly sighed when he heard this sentence. Fortunately, he passed the test, but the words Athena said afterwards stunned him. “As for Princess Royal and the little princess, I can accept it. I can even accept Kia, whom Princess Royal wanted to give you, but if there are other women, you must ask the sword in my hand first!”
Chen Rui thought he misheard. Although every otaku dreamed of a harem, a fantasy was just a fantasy. It was not easy to have girls in both his arms. If he didn’t do it right, there would be troubles in the harem.
I initially just wanted to confess the Christina matter, who knew that the total number of the harem would increase to 5?
Wait! The misunderstanding that Shea because of “Dark Will” was one thing, but as for Kia, I have almost forgotten the Princess Royal’s special reward. She herself is not willing, so this person can be excluded. The strangest case is Alice. How does this little loli somehow get involved? Could the little loli have told Athena about the surprise stolen kiss?
“Athena ...”
“Do you think I’m a petty, jealous woman?” Athena rolled her eyes at Chen Rui and interrupted what he wanted to say first.
Chen Rui felt ashamed. This is being petty? She is simply too generous! It’s surprisingly generous.
“Not satisfied?”
Chen Rui nodded quickly. “I’m satisfied! I’m satisfied! It’s just...”
Athena saw Chen Rui’s surprised look and secretly wondered if she was too harsh. Before Chen Rui could explain the situation with Alice and Kia, she added softly, “Actually, I’m not that type... When you really meet a woman who you are interested in the future, don’t hide it from me, I... I won’t make it difficult for you.”
In fact, the Demon Realm had far more women than men, especially the succubus family which was purely consisted of “female”. Strong male demons generally had many wives, and even powerful female demons had many “toy boys”. Not only because of sexual desire, but also because of inheritance. Perhaps it was due to the relationship between bloodlines and eugenics. The stronger the demon, the lower the fertility rate.
For the Great Demon family, the stronger the mutated bloodline, the fewer the offspring. Athena’s father, the Empire’s First General George Wells had twelve wives, which was very rare among the imperial noble, but he only had one precious daughter, Athena. Athena had excellent qualifications; at the age of nineteen, she broke through the Higher Demon bottleneck. If her powers that were close to that of the Demon King were made known to the public, it would definitely cause a sensation.
Joseph’s father, Lord Josh, had nearly a hundred wives and concubines and countless other women who had no identity. However, there were far fewer offspring than women. Of the few countable descendants, only his two sons Joseph and Kanita were noteworthy.
Of course, the mutation of bloodlines was not only based on heredity, otherwise there would be fewer and fewer powerhouses in the Demon Realm. Breaking the bottleneck by oneself was also a way to induce mutation. For example, if Arux broke through the limit of Higher Demon now, a mutation was likely to happen. Even if he himself did not mutate, there was a considerable chance that his future generations would have a mutated bloodline.
Chen Rui shook his head and kissed her forehead. “Don’t overthink. I am content with being able to have you.”
“That’s enough. Don’t think I’m a silly girl.” Athena was still very happy. At least her position in Chen Rui’s heart was irreplaceable, even if it was Christina or Princess Royal.
Chen Rui could only smile bitterly. The more I explain, the worse the situation seems. I’m speaking my mind, but she just refuses to believe me. Isn’t this being a silly girl?
Athena didn’t worry about this issue anymore. She asked, “That’s right, what’s going on with Glorfin?”
Chen Rui told her about what happened that day. He also told her about the matters in Dark Moon City. He only hid the secrets about how he unintentionally peeped into Shea showing in the bath pool and the underground secret chamber.
Athena was taken aback. “A hundred days? Then your consciousness could be wiped out?”
“My current training is to deal with this crisis. As for the artifacts, I can control half of it. Otherwise, I can’t kiss you today while wearing a mask.” Chen Rui tried to understate as much as possible to prevent Athena from worrying.
With Athena’s insights, she naturally understood how powerful a Demon Overlord’s soul power was. Even without the threat of artifacts, it was still extremely dangerous. As she was extremely anxious, she suddenly whispered, “Chen Rui... we... you should just push me down right now.”
Chen Rui was stunned for a while, then he understood. He hugged Athena tightly. “Silly girl, you have to trust me and you have to trust yourself. You are the deepest mark carved on my soul. Even if my soul is completely broken, this mark definitely cannot be erased. I can surely get through this just with my dedication to you.”
Athena held him tightly without saying a word.
The most important thing in the underground world had been resolved. Chen Rui bade farewell to the earth elementals and arrived at the Tauren’s Den. With his current strength and the help of Stridebug, the journey was greatly shortened.
Athena’s current strength was still above Chen Rui’s. When fighting Glorfin, she awakened the power of space. Since the bloodline power of the Wales Family was <Upgrade>, this type of ability that could attack across space must have originated from the devil fruit’s unique power. This time, she also got the buff of the Demon Overlord level Earth Power and the power of Obsidian Heart, thus her powers improved to another level. She was already quite close to the later stage of Demon King. This kind of adventure with the protagonist’s buff, even Chen Rui could only acknowledge defeat.
The taurens were very pleased with the appearance of Chen Rui and the revival of Athena, especially the Chief Tauren Delong and the priest, Torre. The devil fruit that Delong ate had begun to work; he felt as if his powers had improved, but there was still some distance from breaking through the bottleneck. Once he could advance to Demon Emperor, he could become the third powerhouse in Tauren history to become Demon King.
Chen Rui only stayed in the Tauren’s Den for a short while and quickly went to Medusa’s Lair.
The entire Medusa tribe underground had completely surrendered to Chen Rui. Seeing his arrival, they bowed one after another. Tim walked over with joy, bringing Lysa along to greet their master. Both Chen Rui and Athena saw a small baby in Lysa’s arms. This baby had a humanoid appearance, sleeping soundly. Lysa’s face was full of the aura of motherhood.
It turned out that Lysa gave birth to a child just a few days ago. Sure enough, the babu was a Great Demon, and he also had a mutated bloodline. A mutated Great Demon was very rare; Tim’s joy was imaginable.
Dodo was still asleep. The spirit-devouring demonic fly that he devoured at that time was equivalent to Glorfin’s power territory, which was much stronger than expected. It was likely that he was in the middle of digesting this power. All they could do was wait.
“Congratulations, Tim.” Chen Rui hesitated slightly and said, “You should stay with Lysa at this time, but I really need your strength. After a while, our plan will be implemented.”
When Tim surrendered to Chen Rui last time, he already knew the outline of the plan. He nodded and said, “Master, rest assured, Lysa will understand. However... if I were appear on the front stage again, then I must drink the spring of life every three days, otherwise I will not survive.”
Tim’s life was exhausted at the time, so he had to rely on the fountain of life to maintain his life. This was the biggest limitation.
“I can provide the fountain of life at any time,” Chen Rui said. “I don’t have enough materials now. If I can get the materials together, I will give you a bottle of longevity potion to completely eliminate your worries.”
Tim’s eyes brightened up. He knew that this master had the highest grade of black potion, but even a grand master could not easily get a bottle of the highest grade potion. If this bottle of potion was spread to the Demon Realm, it would definitely cause a sensation in the three empires.
“Thank you, master! As for the materials, if I can contact my family, I will get it together and give it to master as soon as possible.”
A bottle of the highest grade black potion required an exchange of 1 million auras. Chen Rui was currently in urgent need of aura training, so he could not exchange the potion for Tim. However, with the heritage of the Saiful Family, making up 1 million aura should not be a problem. When the time came, he could also earn some extra auras that he needed.
“No problem. During this time, accompany Lysa.”
Lysa could basically understand the Demon Realm’s lingua franca and bowed respectfully to Chen Rui.
After leaving Medusa’s Lair, Chen Rui and Athena went toward the exit of the main pit. Athena looked at the dazzling moon in the sky and recalled the situation of falling into the main pit at the beginning. There was a feeling of seeing light again. The happiest thing was that when they exited, they could still be together.
Chen Rui sensed Athena’s mood and gently squeezed her waist. He smiled and said. “Let’s go. We should go back to Dark Moon to have a look.”
In the evening.
Dark Moon City Palace Council Hall.
The leader of the royal palace imperial guards, Kaguron was pleading guilty to Shea. On the side was Old Gauss. For half a month, with the cooperation of Cloak Gang, the entire city was searching for the Beelzebub Royal Family, but they could not find their whereabouts.
Shea listened quietly. The initial rage on her icy face was gone, but the coldness in her eyes became worse.
“I have reported to the Imperial City, and the special envoy who came to assist in the investigation has set out from the Imperial City. This time, no matter what the price to pay is, the Beelzebub Royal Family must be nipped in the bud!”
Kaguron bowed his head in shame. As a confidant of the Princess Royal, he naturally knew that the messenger of the Imperial City would definitely make the situation in Dark Moon even more unfavorable. If it were not for his incompetence, he was not even able to detect the enemy, how could he end up forcing Princess Royal to take this step.
Old Gauss frowned. This matter was too important. Although Princess Royal knew the disturbance of the messenger of the Imperial City, she never intended to seal the message from the beginning. Anyway, she was also of the royal bloodline of the Fallen Angel Empire. She would not give up the interests of the entire empire because of internal fighting.
“Kaguron, Gauss, you go down. I need to be quiet for a while. Don’t let anyone bother me if there is nothing special.”
“Yes!” The two bowed and left.
After walking out of the council hall, Kaguron saw a guard rushing toward the council hall, holding something in his hand. He immediately stopped the guard.
“Sutta! Where are you going?”
“Sir Kaguron, a man in a cloak asked to see Princess Royal and asked me to give this package to Princess Royal. He said Princess Royal will see him in person.”
“What is it? Is it dangerous? Show me.”
Sutta handed over the small bag in his hand and replied, “I’ve checked it already; it’s just some unknown powder.”
Kaguron opened the small bag. Sure enough, it turned out to be some strange powder, but there was no toxin or energy wave.
“Show me.” Old Gauss came over and looked at those powders. His turbid old eyes looked shocked. He said to Sutta, “I’ll report to Princess Royal immediately! Kaguron, immediately bring the two people to the council hall!”
Whether she is overbearing or tender, woman is still a woman. Chen Rui might have more headaches in the future.
