Chapter 429 - Plan Set
While Master Rummenigge was setting up a magic circle, a miner suddenly attracted his attention. This miner did not draw the magic lines according to his instructions, but he was extremely skillful and produced another strange symbol. With Master Rummenigge’s eyesight, he actually couldn’t fully understand the meaning of it for a while. However, he was certain that its function was sound insulation.
Rummenigge knew there was something unusual, so he walked over calmly as he pretended to direct the miner. The surrounding crystal men had limited intelligence. They would only monitor the situation in the hall according to the order, so they did not notice anything unusual.
“Master, you can speak up now. Those crystal men can’t hear us for the time being, but you still need to act on the surface.” The miner was naturally Chen Rui’s disguise. As he was talking, he continued to squat down and pretend to draw magic patterns.
A surprised expression flashed in Rummenigge’s eyes, “You are...”
Of course, Chen Rui would not reveal the identity of “Arthur”. “I’m the person commissioned by General Crawford to save you. I must first thoroughly understand the specific situation here.”
Rummenigge was overjoyed, but he was also considered mature and experienced. He knew he needed to be calmer especially at this time. He still seemed to be instructing on the surface, as he replied, “I found a hidden magic circle while investigating the accident in the mining area. Then, while investigating deeply and trying to dispel it, I was captured by a terrifying powerhouse to this place. I was forced to complete the work of setting up the magic circle for him.”
“What does this powerhouse look like? What is the function of the magic circle here?” Chen Rui had already guessed a little bit, but he still asked in order to get confirmed news.
“The powerhouse is thin with white hair, but his strength is unfathomable. It is completely impossible for me with Demon King-level strength to resist him. Just a look in his eyes oppressed me and made me unable to move. He is currently in special training. You must be careful, if you are discovered, it will be over.” Rummenigge’s words also reminded this “ally” who came to his rescue. “If you are not confident, you must return and report to Crawford as soon as possible.”
Rummenigge actually knew very well that although the powerhouse said that he would be released when the work was completed, his fate by then was only to be killed. Now this person who had been sent here was his only hope of getting out, so they must be careful.
However, Rummenigge didn’t know that even if Crawford himself came here, it was still useless. That powerhouse was a powerful dragon at the peak stage of the Demon Overlord level strength!
When Chen Rui heard the appearance of the powerhouse, he was even more sure that it was the crystal dragon Jacob! The so-called most dangerous place is the safest place. I didn’t expect Jacob actually did a surprise comeback after being defeated.
“The magic circle here is very profound. Even I don’t understand it very well. For example, the magic circle that is closely guarded by the crystal men leads to another cave. It seems to use the purest power of the underground crystal mine for some kind of training or recovery. The powerhouse will train for a period of time every day. Our current one is an extended one-way space transmission magic circle that continuously transports those high-purity crystal ores to a distant location. ”
Hearing Rummenigge’s words, Chen Rui finally confirmed the speculation in his mind. As expected, the crystal dragon Jacob is using the special power of these crystal mine resources to recover from the injury that was severely struck by Catherine last time. As for the one-way space transmission, it is obviously the greedy dragon’s habitual act of taking advantage of the opportunity to make money while healing his injuries.
Due to Catherine’s deterrence, the Bloodfall force had abandoned the Crystal Valley. The crystal dragon’s recovery should be a personal act. Then the location of the transmission of the crystal should be Jacob’s private treasury or the location of the treasure.
Jacob once killed the mad beast, Lafar, and Kia’s mother, Freya. Since I happen to be here at the right time, I must not let this enemy go.
Chen Rui understood that he was not currently Jacob’s opponent. Even if he destroyed the recovery magic circle, he couldn’t really give Jacob a real fatal blow. Instead, he would alert the enemy. Although he was not the opponent of the crystal dragon, there was an “old friend” of the crystal dragon who should have enough power to defeat or even annihilate Jacob. Jacob was about to end his healing treatment now, and Paglio couldn’t come in such a short time, so he needed to be patient for the time being.
Chen Rui turned his mind quickly, and he already had an idea, “Master, can you please hold on for a while. At least a couple of days or several days. I must leave here first and go back to report to the top. I will save you when the time comes.”
This was exactly what Rummenigge hoped. The powerhouse’s strength was unpredictable. At least he had to successfully spread the news. Anyway, his work would take a long time to complete. He would be safe for the time being.
Before the crystal dragon awoke from the recovery magic circle, Chen Rui ended his brief meeting with Rummenigge. After changing his appearance several times, he left Jacob’s “domain” smoothly.
When returning to the intersection where Chen Rui met the crystal men, he once again felt the faint ancient runes breath, and could not help but be suspicious.
I didn’t sense this kind of breath in the secret mining area or hall just now. Obviously, it should have nothing to do with the crystal dragon. So, what is the source of the ancient runes power?
Chen Rui’s mind shifted. He didn’t immediately return to the ground. Instead, he went in that direction. The terrain became more complicated as he went down. Without any lights, he could vaguely sense that this was a huge passage. Chen Rui was already certain that these were not made by the crystal dragon. In other words, the secret mining area temporarily established by the crystal dragon made use of the existing passage.
The faint ancient runes breath really began to become clearer. This kind of breath seemed to be more ancient and far better than the inscriptions that Zola had experimented with. With his current knowledge, he actually couldn’t distinguish the specific levels and attributes.
Could it be that some ancient treasures are hidden under this huge crystal vein? Or as Zola once said, 1 of the 7 things besides the silver box? Chen Rui was a little excited in his heart, but an unknown treasure was likely to come with unknown accidents or dangers. At present, he should solve the crystal dragon matter first.
After all, Chen Rui had gone through so many incidents. After calming down and thinking about it, he suppressed his burning curiosity and impulsiveness; he didn’t continue to go any further. He turned back, bypassing the Dragon Inscription trap, and returned to the ground.
He did not need to ride the wyvern that would take about 5 days to return to the Bloody Vine Flower City. He could set 2 star points for the [Star Gate] now. Just in case, he had already set up a star point in the Bloody Vine Flower City. He only needed to go back to the Crystal Valley now to set up another one to realize the “two-way passage” so that he could go back and forth between the 2 places in the blink of an eye.
Of course, due to the upper limit of star points, he had cancelled the 2 star points originally set between the Dark Moon and the Red Spirit Estate.
The reason why he set up a star poin in the Red Spirit Estate was related to the disappearance of a slime. It was also the real inside story of Josh’s “unleashing his power” to stop Kanita’s rebellion.
The reason why he wanted to return to the Crystal Valley instead of the underground was to prevent alarming the crystal dragon or other accidents due to the automatic change feature of the Dragon Inscription. His purpose of returning to the Bloody Vine Flower City was to notify Paglio. Although Paglio couldn’t directly use the [Star Gate] to come here, with the flying power of dragons which was much faster than the wyvern, Paglio might only take a couple of days.
Before the poison dragon arrived, Chen Rui would not wait foolishly in the Crystal Valley. Instead, he had very important things to complete.
In the blink of an eye, 5 days had passed.
For dragons with a long life, these 5 days were just a blink of an eye, but the crystal dragon Jacob’s mood wasn’t very good during this period of time. Therefore, even he felt that time had slowed down.
The days of injury upon injury were naturally very unpleasurable. The crystal dragon’s physique was special and couldn’t use potions. He could only rely on the Fountain of Resurrection, the power of the crystal ore and the ancient runes stone slab to slowly recover. He was severely injured by the enemy 2,000 years ago. Just as his injury was about to heal, he was severely injured once again. The Fountain of Resurrection disappeared and the ancient runes slab was stolen. He was even forced to give up the Crystal Valley which he had managed for 2,000 years. The worst part was that he met the strongest woman in the Demon Realm at that time. He was actually defeated and fled despite fighting 3 vs 1. What’s more, his injuries were even more serious.
As dragons, the odd-tempered crystal dragon had always been arrogant and unkind. His interpersonal relationship in Bloodfall had been awful. When Jacob lost his base this time, he didn’t want to be like Azgalor, teaming up with those whom he disdained. Hence, he secretly came back. One reason was to use the power of crystal ore to heal his body, and the other was to gather the crystal ores madly. He used the transmission magic circle to transfer these wealth to his treasure hiding place.
Even if things were exposed and he had to leave, he could also use the massive crystal ores collected to treat his injuries in another place. It was a pity that after losing the ancient runes slab and Fountain of Resurrection, the progress of his injury recovery had been much slower. He did not know how long it would take to fully heal.
As the crystal dragon was absorbing the power of the crystal ore to heal his wounds in the Dragon Inscriptions, a crystal man suddenly reported: There seemed to be something wrong with the hall that transmitted the crystal ores.
Jacob frowned. Could it be Rummenigge playing tricks? I caught this ant when he touched my Dragon Inscription. Since he is a mechanic master, I spared his life temporarily and forced him to set up and expand the magic circle of transmission. This way, he can save me a lot of energy.
Of course, as long as the transmission of crystal ore was almost completed in the future, the crystal dragon would not let Rummenigge live.
Jacob left the healing cave and went to the hall where the crystal ores were transported. He saw the entrance to the space that originally absorbed the crystal ore did not continue to absorb for some unknown reasons. Instead, it began to pour the crystal ore outwards.
The crystal puppet’s wisdom was limited, so they didn’t know what to do and just stood there blankly. Jacob was taken aback. He quickly stepped forward. He noticed that the magic circles around him were different at a glance. These magic circles were profound and mysterious. There seemed to be some Dragon Inscriptions, and the level was very high. Even Jacob who was proficient in this aspect had to look up to it.
Jacob’s facial expression suddenly changed. Even if he couldn’t understand the true meaning of these inscriptions or magic circles, he could guess that the original one-way transmission passage was changed to two-way! It was now in the state of flowing backwards to this hall. If this continued, not only those crystal mines, even the treasures he had accumulated so hard, would all flow backwards!
Wouldn’t this trigger Jacob even more?
