Chapter 386 - Fight for You
Although the battle between Chen Rui and Josh in the tent was short, their movements had already alarmed the nearby guards. Many guards rushed in and blocked in front of Josh. Not far away, Rus also came quickly.
Chen Rui failed the assasination. Seeing that it was impossible to do anything, he lamented the miss. His mind turned quickly, then he controlled Kanita to show a sober appearance and shouted, “Help! There is an assassin!”
His call immediately caused a large number of soldiers to come. Chen Rui laughed heartily before rising into the air. As he waved both his hands, several huge light balls appeared and blasted the surroundings. Suddenly, the ground shook, and there was a series of bombing sounds. The nearby soldiers were either dead or wounded. There was chaos all of a sudden.
Before Chen Rui landed, a black flame containing terrifying destructive power flew toward him from the side. It was the [Dark Flame] cast by Rus. Chen Rui didn’t dodge. A little bright starlight appeared in his hand. With a lead, the [Dark Flame] flew toward the soldiers that were charging at him. Wherever the flame passed, the soldiers were all turned to ashes.
Rus was horrified and shocked. It was the first time anyone could solve the bloodline talent skill of the Lucifer Royal Family with the strongest attack power. This was Chen Rui’s new skill, [Star Diversion].
However, Chen Rui’s original intention was to lead the [Dark Flame] to Josh, but he couldn’t seem to control this skill well yet, so it was led to the soldiers.
This move stunned Rus. A great sword appeared in his hand. He had a solemn expression.
Chen Rui saw more and more soldiers rushing toward him, but he did not want to fight anymore. He tapped his feet, and he floated in the air. Under Kanita’s order, all the soldiers pulled their bows. When they were prepared to release the arrows, they suddenly heard an explosion sound. Amongst the blurry vision, the floating figure suddenly disappeared into the sky with an incredible speed like a cannonball.
Josh and Rus looked at each other. They saw the shock in each other’s eyes. Poisoning and burning, controlling Kanita with secret techniques, assassinating the head of the army, and then retreating in front of the two Demon Emperors and the thousands troops!
When did the Dark Moon have such a terrifying character?
After counting the losses, Josh flashed a vicious light in his eyes. He ordered the army to set off immediately and head to Town Leith- The army’s morale has been damaged currently. If I avoid fighting now, I’m afraid that it will get worse. As long as I defeat the main force of the Dark Moon, no matter how strong the mysterious assassin’s personal strength is, he cannot change the overall situation!
Besides, Krobelus happens to be away. Otherwise, she can definitely catch this assassin! He is not that terrifying!
Krobelus was rushing to the Blue Lake Mountain Range impatiently now. In order to arrive at the “real entrance” of the treasure before it was closed, she had turned into a dragon to fly there.
The emerald dragon was good at poison and water element power. Although she did not have the strongest body among dragons, her flying ability was far better than pseudo-dragons like wyvern. If wyvern was the strongest air combat force, then dragons were the real air overlords. With Krobelus’ Demon Overlord level power, she did not take a long time to reach the Blue Lake Mountain Range.
Chen Rui also considered this before. Since Paglio’s strength had not recovered, if he was facing Josh, he definitely would not be able to kill Josh in one blow. Once Krobelus knew that she was being fooled, she would quickly rush back to the Red Spirit army. With her ability, the round trip would not take too much time, so the mission of the poison dragon was to delay her. Even if the poison dragon couldn’t wait for the arrival of the Earth Elemental King, he must also delay her until the end of the battle between the two armies. This was to ensure that the emerald dragon, the Demon Overlord powerhouse, who could affect the entire battle, couldn’t appear at a critical moment.
After Krobelus landed at the entrance of the Blue Lake Mountain Range, she recovered to her human form. Holding the “treasure map,” she walked step by step toward the entrance of the “treasure”.
“The entrance is just ahead, but these inscriptions are really troublesome... How do I get in?”
“Sigh, if I knew this earlier, I shouldn’t have slipped away the Dragon Inscription class back then...”
“Sobs... My treasure. I don’t care, even if I have to barge in, even if it breaks my newly bought clothes, I must get the treasure today!”
Ms. Emerald Dragon tried to dispel the Dragon Inscription while thumping her chest with remorse. ‘It is only when it comes time to applying knowledge that one regrets not acquiring enough of it.’ At the same time, the Red Spirit army had reached the outskirts of Town Leith. They happened to meet face-on with the Dark Moon army who was rushing there.
The two armies faced each other at an effective distance. Almost all of the Dark Moon soldiers were deployed this time. Under the Red Blood Royal Flag inherited by the Lord of Midnight Sun, Shea personally led a cone-shaped formation of imperial guards. She wore a silver-white armor with a long sword on her waist. She was sitting on a white demon horse. Her long golden hair fluttered gently with the wind, and she looked very heroic.
The 2 wings were the garrison guards led by Arux and Old Ford respectively. The whole formation was like an arrow.
However, the Dark Moon only had imperial guards and garrison guards. The West Road army was nowhere to be seen. The total number of the 2 armies was barely close to 40,000, whereas the exact number of the Red Spirit army in a 3 semicircle formation was 83,000. This was excluding the soldiers who remained wounded by the poisonous fog and chaos.
One could clearly see the momentum of the less people at a glance.
The Dark Moon’s formation made Josh frown secretly. Didn’t they say that the Dark Moon’s Princess Royal is calm, wise, and she has the demeanour of Lord of Midnight Sun, how come she set up a charging formation upon arrival? Does she really plan to fight desperately in this place today?
As the saying went, those who were cruel were afraid of the desperate ones. If Shea really planned to perish together, the loss of the Red Spirit army would probably be greater than Josh imagined.
“Red Spirit warriors, look at the poor Dark Moon army. Their armors are ragged, their swords are crooked, their spears are slanted, and the number of soldiers is pitiful. Their faces are clearly marked with fear and panic. What’s more, their commander is clueless about the art of war! Considering the ratio of the current military strength, if the timid Dark Moon insists on defending, perhaps they can cause us a little hindrance. However, they take the initiative to attack now. What should we do with the ants who come to die?”
“Kill! Kill! Kill!” The Red Spirit army thumped the ground with their weapons. The neat sound echoed in the entire wilderness. Faced with the enemy troops who were multiple times higher in number and with a high fighting spirit, the Dark Moon’s army seemed to be even more nervous. Some mounts had begun to retreat restlessly.
Pre-war encouragement was something every commander would do. Josh was worthy of being the lord who understood his army. His few words had greatly boosted the morale of the soldiers. It seemed to have greatly reduced the effects of the previous poisoning and the burning of food.
At this time, Shea’s firm voice sounded, “Dark Moon soldiers, this is the land where we grew up; our most precious home. The Red Spirit Lord Josh allowed his son to do evil things, and he acted perversely by rebelling against his superiors. He invades our home shamelessly. If we take a step back, the wealth that we have accumulated through hardship will be plundered; our relatives will be humiliated and killed; and the home we built with much difficulty will be destroyed and wiped out. Can we retreat?”
“No!” Dark Moon’s soldiers replied simultaneously, but they were slightly inferior in terms of momentum. After all, their enemies were higher in number.
“The royal flag on my head is the Red Blood Flame Flag of the Lord of Midnight Sun. Once upon a time, this flag stood on the peak of the Demon Realm, accepting everyone’s admiration. No one can shake its majesty! Remember the Warlock Battle? The Lord of Midnight Sun, with 7,000 people, smashed the Bloody Empire with 30,000 people! Today, under the guidance of the royal flag, we will pierce the enemy’s throat with the sharpest sword and high spirits to revive the glory of the Lord of Midnight Sun!”
Shea’s voice resounded throughout the audience, “In the name of Shea. Lucifer, in the name of Lord of Midnight Sun’s grandchild, I now bestow the title of “Red Blood” to the imperial guards, and the title of “Flame” to the garrison guard. The glory of the Red Blood Flame will reappear in the Demon Realm!”
The Dark Moon army suddenly became high-spirited and vivacious. They yelled out the slogan of the Midnight Sun army of the Demon Realm back then – “Red Blood Flame, triumph in every battle!”
Although the Lord of Midnight Sun had died for 400 years, the prestige of the top powerhouse and the military god of the Demon Realm was still deeply rooted in people’s hearts. Even the Red Spirit army couldn’t help but be afraid. With Josh’s identity, he took the initiative to defeat the Lord of Midnight Sun’s bloodline, Princess Shea’s estate. He couldn’t dispel the rebel reputation for going against his superiors even if he had the capital’s special permission.
Feeling that his army’s morale was suppressed, Josh turned his mind and used another move.
A rider in the Red Spirit army went out a few steps, and his voice sounded, “Brothers of the Dark Moon! I’m Karl, the mechanic master of the Mellon Family. I currently serve under Sir Josh. At present, Patriarch Sukh of the Mellon Family is already attacking the Dark Moon City. He has controlled the entire Dark Moon City. Your relatives and friends are already under Sir Josh’s control! As long as you put down your weapons and surrender, not only you, your dearest ones will also be spared death!”
Cutting off retreat route was a taboo for soldiers. As soon as these words came out, the Dark Moon army suddenly made a commotion. Fortunately, another voice sounded, “Sukh. Mellon rebelled and caused chaos in the Dark Moon, and he was killed by me,Ford. Saiful. The whole army of the Mellon Family was wiped out. Their entire family was also annihilated. Princess Royal has ordered the deprivation of the Mellon Family’s surname. Sukh’s head is here!”
A person’s head was thrown out from a distance. Some sharp-eyed Dark Moon soldiers recognized that it was Sukh’s head. Karl. Mellon who was at the opposite actually fainted in exasperation when he heard that his whole family had been annihilated.
Shea received a hint from Old Gauss beside her. She took advantage of the high morale, held her long sword firmly, and pointed at the enemy. Rows of cavalry appeared at the front of the team. They were ready to charge.
Although it was Shea’s first time on the battlefield; even though her palm was already sweating; even though she could feel her violent heartbeat, she still looked calm and firm. She knew that she was the core of the Dark Moon army. If she showed cowardice first, the whole army would be defeated without a fight.
That man... should have evacuated safely with Alice...
Perhaps this is really my last battle!
Please bless me, father! Lord of Midnight Sun!
Josh didn’t expect his opponent was prepared long ago. His move was actually self-defeating instead. With a wave of the flag in his hand, the front army raised their spears, and they were prepared to fight.
“Dark Moon military officers! Soldiers!” Josh’s figure slowly floated up. He was surrounded by a few strange symbols, and a powerful aura was dispersed, “I, Josh. Alvin, was once entrusted by the regent king of the capital to promise to give you one last way to survive before destroying you all! The official position of the military officers who surrender remains unchanged. There are also rewards. Soldiers who surrender and their family members will be spared death. If you are stubborn, I will purge the Dark Moon with blood! Ford. Saiful, if you come out and surrender now, I can promise publicly that I won’t hold you accountable for your faults in destroying the Mellon Family. I will continue to reuse you and your son, Tim. Also... that human financial officer, Chen Rui, you can continue to serve as the financial officer in charge of the economy in my Red Spirit Estate to maximize your talents...”
The Dark Moon was already ready to attack initially, but Josh suddenly made this move. Those who were pointed out showed a little hesitation. Old Ford took the lead to yell, “Don’t bother about this scam!”
At this moment, a figure riding a horse in the Dark Moon formation stepped out of the team.
Shea hadn’t officially ordered the cavalry to charge, yet this man took the lead to step forward. Obviously, after hearing Josh’s “call,” he wanted to be the first to surrender.
At this critical moment on the verge of breaking out, a traitor actually appeared first!
Great! Josh was secretly overjoyed in his heart, and he made a hand gesture. The herald understood Josh, and he immediately ordered the front army to prepare for the assault. They were ready to make a move when the Dark Moon’s army spirit was most wavered.
Seeing this figure, Shea’s pupils suddenly shrank.
Chen Rui!
Shouldn’t he leave with Athena, Alice and the others already?
Why is he here?
There was a commotion in the Dark Moon’s army. The Princess Royal’s most trusted financial officer is actually preparing to surrender to the enemy? Some soldiers had aimed their stretched bows at Chen Rui, awaiting Princess Royal’s order to immediately shoot the traitor.
Chen Rui took a few steps forward on his horse and stopped. Suddenly, he turned around, and he took a look.
He was not looking at those bows and arrows, but he was looking at Shea under the Red Blood Flame flag.
That beautiful princess with white armor and fluttering blonde hair.
The woman who gave him the last “order”.
Although it was just a glance, Shea sensed a lot from it. She had never felt some of them before. Perhaps this was a kind of tacit understanding.
Chen Rui smiled slightly at Shea, then he turned his head to face the Red Spirit army. He drew his sword and pointed it at the Red Spirit army. This was not what a person who surrendered should do. One after another Dark Moon’s army relaxed their breath. The human’s strength was very weak. He could hardly hold his sword with one hand, but no one laughed at him.
“For Princess Royal!”
The human’s voice was not loud, but it was firm and powerful. He rode a horse to rush forward first.
One person facing the enemy’s army of nearly 100,000.
In an instant, the spirits of Dark Moon’s cavalry and everyone in the Dark Moon soared. A weak human actually rushed to the front!
Shea’s eyes had already shed tears uncontrollably. She felt an unprecedented firmness from the long sword in her hand. In this battle, she had no regrets regardless of life or death.
Seeing Shea waving her sword, Old Gauss immediately yelled, “For Princess Royal!”.
This voice became louder in an instant. Almost everyone in the Dark Moon army yelled out. The wave-like roar resounded throughout the battlefield. Their powerful momentum far surpassed the Red Spirit army that had an absolute number advantage.
In the sound of the charging horn, the human’s “poor” horse-riding skills had long been surpassed by his surging comrades. One after another troops of the Dark Moon cavalry rushed toward the Red Spirit like an unstoppable tide.
The Dark Moon actually has such a force of cavalry!
Facing the powerful momentum and charge of the Dark Moon cavalry, Josh did not expect that his last trick would turn out to be his biggest failure. He immediately gritted his teeth with hatred. Their momentum was firmly overwhelmed by the opponent now, so he hastily ordered the army reorganized to face the enemy.
All of Josh’s tactics failed; the defeat of the Red Spirit Army was imminent despite the number advantage. What was the Blue Lava army doing now?
