Chapter 785: Purchase
After the light blue light flashed, a figure appeared in a remote corner of the Starlight Empire at Venus City.
This was a human with a very ordinary appearance and clothes. In the crowd, this kind of average face had a very low sense of existence. No one would think that this person actually came from the rumored ‘violent and vicious’ Demon Realm.
The ‘travel expenses’ of this trip to the Human World were not cheap, 1 million faith crystals without any discount. Not to forget, he still had to pay another 1 million to get back. However, unlike that time when they accidentally came to the Human World with the space seed, this time he already prepared 2 million faith crystals.
In the beginning, he took Shura to steal faith, raced against time and even went deep into the Holy Church’s lair. In the end, he barely collected 1 million and returned to the Demon Realm to save Madam Aunt. Things were different now. Since the magic game quickly became popular in the Demon Realm, the faith crystal in the Super System had skyrocketed at an unexpectedly faster acceleration, which was terrifying. Over the years, the sky-high ticket prices of traveling between the Human World and the Demon Realm would drop to the price of a cabbage.
Chen Rui came to the human world this time for 3 main purposes. The first was naturally the origin fragment. According to the agreement with Light Elemental King Delkus last time, he would exchange the light source power and the wind source power with the light origin fragment. With these 2 source powers, Zola would get all 6 major element source powers, plus the kingdom-level Dragon Power Essence granted by Auglas, the success rate of Zola’s [6 Elements Kingdom] would be greatly increased, and the risk would be reduced to a minimum.
The second purpose was about Shura and the Black Death Follower. At first, in addition to stealing faith power, Chen Rui left Shura in the human world for the purpose of removing the scum of the Holy Church. However, Shura accidentally joined the mysterious cult and became the big deacon of the Black Death Follower. This mysterious cult was actually a cult that worshipped the abyss creatures!
The abyss creatures were the source of the destruction of the alchemy civilization and many other civilizations. In addition to the trial illusions, Chen Rui had personally experienced the power of the abyss creatures. From Satan’s words, it could be concluded that the abyss creatures should be sealed in a certain place. Over the years, they had been trying to return to this world all the time. Once the abyss creatures really succeed, then it would be a terrible disaster for the Demon Realm and the human world.
The mysterious cult created a bloody murder in which the souls of 10 cities were slaughtered and sacrificed to ‘god’ in the first 20,000 years. Such a blatant action was definitely a certain ritual to summon the abyss. Fortunately, it failed because of unknown reasons and was even encircled by the Holy Church. It was a pity that the cult had not been completely eliminated, but it hid in the dark. The Black Death Followers were definitely still brewing a new subversion conspiracy. Just the faith that it continuously provided to the abyss was a major problem. Therefore, Shura must return to the mysterious cult and try to destroy this terrifying organization that had the danger of destroying the entire world.
Although the mysterious cult had not made it to the public, its strength and scale were not trivial. Shura’s personal strength was limited, and he was only in contact with external forces now. It was not suitable to act rashly for the time being. He must step into the core step by step. At that time, he only needed to make the secret of the cult public, then the Holy Church would naturally eliminate this old enemy with all its strength.
The third purpose was about the improvement of alchemy. At this time, there were only approximately 4 months left before next year’s alchemist master contest. In the alchemist master contest, he would face Teacher Tetenis’s strongest rival, the potion and mechanics dual-grand master, Saman. The potion was fine as he could deal with it using the potion in the Super System, but the mechanical skills required real skills. Since the last time Chen Rui returned to the human world, he could not break through the last bottleneck even when he used the time law of the training ground. He felt really close to the grand master level. This time in the human world, he also wanted to visit the 2 mechanics grand masters of the Jade Forest Sea again to seek a breakthrough opportunity.
From the Blue Star City in the south of the Starlight Empire, one could reach the north of the Jade Forest Sea through the Ice Sea area. However, Chen Rui had plenty of time this time, so he did not leave immediately. Instead, he came to the ‘Golden Key’, the largest magic shop in Venus City.
“It turns out to be sir! Welcome back. What do you need this time? I guarantee sir will get the best offer.” Chen Rui bought a lot of magic scrolls here last time, so the chubby shopkeeper Cissman had a deep impression on him. He personally welcomed him to the VIP room on the second floor with great enthusiasm.
“I need 3 things, the law pattern paper, the Blue Light Grass and the Lock Scorpion Vine’s seeds. The more the quantity, the better.”
Alchemy’s branch scroll art had developed to a considerable height in the human world. Magic scrolls were also quite popular. Even ordinary people could use scrolls to cast magic. However, due to various reasons, scroll art had declined in the Demon Realm for many years. Magic scrolls were considered an ornament in the Demon Realm which was rare and expensive but not of high practical value. It was rarely used in combat.
When Chen Rui returned to the Demon Realm from the human world, he received the 2 books, ‘Basics of Scroll Art’ and ‘Scroll Art Mastery’, presented by the elf tribe’s mechanics grand master, Finoia. The information recorded in these 2 books was very complete, and Finoia’s own experience and label were extremely precious. Chen Rui copied these 2 books and gave them to Teacher Tetenis and Fonsaq, the president of the Fallen Angel Empire’s Mechanic Association. He also set up a scroll art research department to organize specialized personnel to conduct research on scrolls. This was also one of Chen Rui’s war strategies.
Thanks to the complete theoretical support and ready-made scrolls, the research had made gratifying progress. However, relying on the Demon Realm’s local production of scrolls, there was a problem that could not be solved at present, which was material. The material used to make the initial base surface of the scroll was called the law pattern paper. This paper had very good magic storage attributes. The main material was the Blue Light Grass and the Lock Scorpion Vine. These 2 plants were light element plants. They were not rare in the human world, but they were almost extinct in the Demon Realm which was full of dark elements. There was no substitute for it at the moment.
Therefore, Chen Rui wanted to purchase a large amount of the law pattern paper and 2 kinds of plants and seeds this time. He could find alternatives through experiments or use the ‘magic soil’ to cultivate in batches (Although they could be planted in the galaxy garden, the number was limited after all).
“We still have about 300 copies of the law pattern paper in stock, but due to special reasons, the price is relatively high. The Lock Scorpion Vine and seeds are also partly available, but the Blue Light Grass... is currently out of stock.” Cissman laughed apologetically, “Not to mention at the Golden Key, it is now a hot commodity even in the entire human world because not long ago, the Holy Church... Hehe, sir should know that during that time, the Holy Church almost sealed all the nearby empire, and everyone evacuated now.”
Chen Rui was taken aback. This is exactly what the church has done to encircle him, and it was later revoked because of Isyorul’s death. But what does this have to do with the Blue Light Grass?.
“I knew about the incident at that time. After I purchased the magic scroll from you, I started training behind closed doors. It took a while to complete. What happened later?”
“I see!” Cissman showed a sudden expression, “Sir has no idea. Since then, the church has started to buy the Blue Light Grass and seeds on a large scale. I don’t know the specific reasons. Now the price of the Blue Light Grass and the law pattern paper has increased several times, and the entire magic scroll market has also been greatly affected. Although many magic botanical gardens have increased their planting area and scale, it will take at least a year to mature and put to use. The price of the magic scroll is unlikely to decrease again.”
“Oh...” Chen Rui faintly guessed that the church’s massive acquisition of the Blue Light Grass should be related to the disappearance of the Snow Dallet Tree. It might be a need for replacement or remedy. Nevertheless, his scroll plan was likely to be stranded this way.
Chen Rui thought for a while and asked, “My family has been in business for many years. A gentleman doesn’t beat around the bushes. Although the market is tight, it doesn’t mean that there is no stock. Otherwise, the magic scroll will be out of stock long ago. I know you must all have stocks, just waiting for the price to rise. How about I exchange them with the Dark Soul Grass.”
The Dark Soul Grass was a very rare kind of magic plant with relatively pure dark element power. It was a necessary material for mechanics and high grade potions. Of course, this ‘rare’ was for the human world. In the Demon Realm, the Dark Soul Grass was even more common than the Blue Light Grass or the Lock Scorpion Vine.
Chen Rui experimented with potions some time ago. There were many related materials in the storage warehouse, the Dark Soul Grass was one of them. In fact, there were many similar items with such price differences. If it was just for money, he could be a ‘plane merchant, but he obviously didn’t intend to do this.
“The Dark Soul Grass?”
Cissman’s eyes lit up suddenly as he saw a dark purple plant in Chen Rui’s hand. Cissman took it and took a closer look, “No doubt it is the Dark Soul Grass, and the quality is quite high. How about this? 1 Dark Soul Grass for 20 Blue Light Grass, and I will add another 30 seeds. I know that this price is very disadvantageous for sir. In the past, this kind of exchange would definitely be impossible, but now it is a critical time. If sir is urgent, the price is very reasonable. If it is not urgent, then when the price drops next year, sir can come here again, and I will give you another discount at the current price.”
Cissman said it very nicely, but if the other party didn’t need it urgently, why would he exchange with the Dark Soul Grass?
Chen Rui understood this naturally, and he did not refute it. In fact, the Dark Soul Grass was much cheaper for him than the Blue Light Grass, so he nodded immediately, “Okay, let’s exchange 1,000 plants first.”
“1000 plants!” Cissman was taken aback. He originally thought that the other party only had a few dozen plants, but he did not expect such a huge amount. This required 20,000 Blue Light Grass and 30,000 seeds. With the current market, let alone his store, even the entire magic store in the Venus City did not have so many stocks. All the piled stocks accumulated were no more than 10,000 plants.
“If not, I will go somewhere else.”
“Please wait a minute!” Cissman’s mind quickly turned. This was a big and profitable business which could make at least 5 times more profit. He couldn’t just watch it fly away.
He couldn’t take this big deal, but that didn’t mean that other people couldn’t either.
“How about this?” Cissman finally made a decision, “I will introduce someone to sir. He happens to be looking for the Dark Soul Grass, and he should also have enough of the Blue Light Grass on hand, but there is one condition. Sir must first exchange 200 Dark Soul Grass with the Golden Key, and I will provide 4000 Blue Light Grass and 6000 seeds. What do you think, sir?”
“No problem, we can trade now, including the law pattern paper and the Lock Scorpion Vine. What I want to know is, who is the buyer of the exchange? Don’t worry, I will complete the transaction with you first.” As Chen Rui waved, 200 Dark Soul Grass had appeared on the table.
“Of course I can trust sir!” Cissman’s eyes squinted as he smiled, and he immediately arranged for the clerk to count. “Sir, please rest assured, that person is potioneer Feiz, the apprentice of Master Maseus in the alchemy department of Starlight College. He is very enthusiastic and very easy to talk to, so communication is definitely not a problem. These days he happened to be shopping around for the Dark Soul Grass, and he should be still in town now. There should be a large stock of the Blue Light Grass in the alchemy department of Starlight College. I will send someone to look for Feiz now.”
Soon after, Feiz appeared in the VIP room. This was a young man with short black hair. He was a little out of breath as he obviously rushed over. As soon as they met, he asked, “Sir, you really have a lot of the Dark Soul Grass.” ?”
“Are you Sir Feiz? My name is Simon. I don’t know how much Dark Soul Grass you need?”
“I want as many as sir has!”
“How about 1,000 plants?” Chen Rui asked tentatively.
“Do you really have 1,000 plants?” Feiz said with joy after getting an affirmative answer, “Excellent! I will give you the highest purchase price!”
Chen Rui shook his head: “Sorry, I only accept exchange. I need the Blue Light Grass and its seeds.”
“The Blue Light Grass?” Feiz thought for a while, “Ok! 100 plants plus 100 seeds for 1 plant, what do you think?
“Sure. The price is fair.” Chen Rui looked at Cissman on the side. The fatty shop owner smiled awkwardly and pretended not to hear it.
“By the way, do you have any dried Devil’s Snare Leaf? I only need 20 grams.
Devil’s Snare Flower? Chen Rui suddenly felt warm in his heart as he thought of a yard with the fragrance of tea. He smiled and said, “If it is to make white potion, then... fresh Devil’s Snare Leaf should achieve better results.”
Feiz’s eyes widened as he looked at the dark blue leaf in Chen Rui’s hand, “This... really is Devil’s Snare Leaf! Great! The task assigned by the teacher can be completed! Sir Simon, due to the massive exchange amount, please come to college with me if it’s convenient for you.”
Chen Rui thought for a while and agreed.
Starlight College was located on the outskirts of Venus City. It was the most famous institution of higher learning in the human world with a long history. It had cultivated countless elite talents. Many faraway empire nobles had sent their children to college to study here. Its popularity and the quality of teaching were evident.
The 2 set off in a carriage. About 4 hours later, the carriage stopped.
“Sir Simon, since the Star Tower of the college is about to open soon, entering the college will be very strict, please don’t mind.”
The Star Tower? Chen Rui’s mind moved, and suddenly he thought of this term when the Princess Royal Highness came to him when he was in the Jade Forest Sea. It was said to be an excellent place for training, even for a Saint powerhouse.
I wonder if I will have a chance to see the Star Tower and those ‘acquaintances’ back then?
“Sir Simon?” The enthusiastic potioneer reminded him, interrupting Chen Rui’s thoughts.
“Oh, nothing, let’s get off the carriage.”
TL: Wouldn’t those ‘acquaintances’ recognize him and report to the Church?
