Year 10,290 of the Blue Star Xia calendar, Mahayana Star
In just over a decade, Mahayana Star, under Lin Jiang’s leadership, not only healed the wounds of war but became even more prosperous than it was before, thriving many times over.
In these years, the whole of Mahayana Star was undergoing major infrastructure development. Lin Jiang commissioned the planning of hundreds of billions of kilometers of road and railway networks, designed six hundred and eighty nuclear fusion power plants, and constructed or upgraded over three thousand large-scale factories, along with tens of thousands of various public facilities.
Strong funding, ambitious goals, and exceptional organizational skills led to the continuous rise in the economic and productive levels of Mahayana Star. The vast majority of people enjoyed the benefits of this era, and compared to the control exerted by the Buddhist sect, it was simply much better.
At the same time, soft power support was also catching up. The complete legal system of Blue Star was initially established, ideas were liberated, Buddhist scriptures were removed from textbooks, and many temples were destroyed, leaving only a few as tourist attractions or for real education.
Moreover, the advanced culture and technology of Blue Star have spread to all aspects of Mahayana Star, bringing various high-tech household items into many homes.
With this complete set of strategies, the hearts of the people on Mahayana Star were completely won over. Those who were already inclined towards Blue Star felt they had found paradise, while most of those who were devoted to Buddhism were also conquered by reality, with only a few loyal Buddhists hiding in corners, struggling to survive.
In just over a decade, a blink of an eye for cultivators, it seems that the traces of Buddhism on Mahayana Star are being wiped away.
"Developing the economy and winning people’s hearts is something you Blue Star are good at. On my side, it’s been a headache. After more than ten years, there are still Buddhist cultivators causing trouble everywhere, making me so angry that I want to get rid of them all."
After the teleportation array between Mahayana Star and Fozang Star was set up, Ming’an, Ming Xin, and other high-ranking officials visited Mahayana Star. After touring Mahayana Star, Ming’an said to Lin Jiang, filled with envy.
Over the past decade, the remaining Buddhist cultivators on Mahayana Star have caused some disturbances, but they had little influence and were even wiped out by the local people of Mahayana Star without Lin Jiang having to intervene.
But Fozang Star is different; they have killed batch after batch of people, yet the resisting forces of Buddhism seem impossible to eliminate. To this day, there is still a group of rebels hiding underground in Fozang Star, occasionally causing trouble. It seems it will be difficult to win their hearts for several hundred years.
"Taoist Friend Ming’an, counting the students from Canglan Star and Lingfa Star studying in my Blue Star, there must be at least a million, yet it seems they haven’t learned anything useful. I haven’t hidden anything."
Lin Jiang said that Canglan Star was the first to send students to Blue Star, and the total number of students over the years must be at least several million.
"Taoist Friend Lin, what you said is not fair. There are indeed international students, but you did not provide me with a market, and the development environment is in terrible shape. What can I do?"
"This has nothing to do with me, don’t blame me."
"Alright, I’m not here to accuse you. This time I brought someone to learn. My junior, Ming Yu, do you know him?"
Ming’an introduced a refined middle-aged man, who also had cultivation at the Transmigration Stage.
"I know him. He was one of the best among the first group of international students and has won many awards. I even met him at Blue Star, right, Ming Yu?"
"Yes, Taoist Friend Lin, I didn’t expect that after so long, Taoist Friend Lin still remembers me."
"Of course, Ming Yu, with such charm, it’s hard for people to forget you, especially since you dated the daughters of several prestigious families in Blue Star and then left after studying. The lawsuits have come to me."
Lin Jiang said this, and as soon as he did, Ming Yu’s face darkened. Everyone has a youthful past. He was young, passionate, handsome, wealthy, and talented, so it was normal for several women to be attracted to him.
But he couldn’t take them home. His status was very special. Even if he wanted to marry, it would have to be a political union that brought benefits. Although those women came from prestigious families in Blue Star, they were not of direct lineage and were not a match.
"Haha, Taoist Friend Lin, do you really care about the love lives of young people?"
"I don’t care at all, just joking! Don’t take it seriously. But, it is better to be more careful in the future."
Lin Jiang shook his head; he really didn’t care. But this kind of issue has become too common and has caused a lot of trouble for the government of Blue Star.
Those who come to study at Blue Star are all elites from various planets, mostly wealthy and powerful, and they are very capable. They are all prominent figures at Blue Star’s universities, so there are many entanglements and conflicts, which have a significant impact.
"Of course! My younger brother is over five thousand years old now, and he is steady. I will let him take charge of Fozang Star, and Taoist Friend Lin will need to help take care of a few things."
"No problem. I have nothing to hide from you, but what skills you can learn will depend on you."
Lin Jiang nodded. Blue Star needs some allies, and Canglan Star is a great ally, strong and powerful. Plus, Ming’an and his friends have good manners, being humble and polite, and they have produced many outstanding people.
Although Lin Jiang gave Ming Yu a little push, he knew that Ming Yu is a more outstanding talent than Ming’an and Ming Xin. He could be called a toned-down version of Liang Long; he doesn’t have Liang Long’s extraordinary talents, but he has no obvious weaknesses and is a very impressive person.
Lin Jiang and Ming’an talked for a long time, especially about the current situation in the Star Domain. They exchanged their thoughts and both agreed that right now there is temporary peace, but it won’t be long before a great war breaks out.
Now the Heavenly Court and the Buddha’s realm are completely mixed together. The Buddha has four planets in the Tianbei Star Domain surrounded by the Heavenly Court, with the Heavenly Court’s influence coming from all directions. The key point is Mahayana Star; if Mahayana Star is lost, the Buddha’s territory will be cut off.
On the Heavenly Court’s side, if Yinfang Star is lost, the Buddha’s influence from Tianyuan Star Domain will invade Tianbei Star Domain. The Buddha controls eighteen planets in the entire Tianyuan Star Domain, and Yinfang Star becomes the base for the Buddha’s attack on the Heavenly Court.
Therefore, both sides show obvious weaknesses. The Heavenly Court will not sit by while Yinfang Star is occupied by the Buddha for a long time, and the Buddha also will not allow the Heavenly Court to take the four planets.
The reason they haven’t acted yet is that both sides are weary; the battle from over a decade ago caused heavy losses for both, and it was very tragic.
Several thousand masters from the Tianyuan Star Domain’s Immortal Sect died, and the same is true for the Tianbei Star Domain. In comparison, the Heavenly Court suffered a bit more loss, and everyone needs to recuperate before battling again.
"Taoist Friend Lin, our relationship is like lips and teeth; your Mahayana Star is the key point for the Buddha to open the road. If you fall, I, Fozang Star, will also be doomed. We have invested greatly in Fozang Star; we cannot afford to lose."
"Taoist Friend Ming’an, you see how much effort I’ve put into Mahayana Star. Am I losing out?"
Lin Jiang retorted, saying that if they lose, Canglan Star would just suffer a loss, maybe without any serious damage, but Blue Star would be devastated. Not to mention, just in engineers and scientists, Lin Jiang has brought in millions. The training cost for these people is extremely high.
"So, we must watch out for each other. No matter whose home faces trouble, we must provide strong support."
"This is nature, no doubt about it."
Lin Jiang nodded. Now they were close allies. The power of the Tianbei Star Domain was almost gone; if they didn’t help each other, who would?
Ming’an and his group visited for over ten days and then returned to the Fozang Star. Lin Jiang also sent them many great gifts, like some packaged technologies to boost productivity, and he even sent a team of five hundred people to help them learn how to defeat the remaining forces of the Buddhist sect.
As for high-tech products, he sent a large number as well. These things were more powerful than the consciousness of the immortal, because the immortal couldn’t watch over billions of lives on the planet all the time.
After sending Ming’an and the others away, Lin Jiang seriously considered the situation of the Mahayana Star and gathered relevant experts to brainstorm ideas. They needed to prepare an emergency plan and not be caught off guard.
