Heavenly Wall Divine Kingdom, Outer City of Jingdu City
Yi Zhibai felt very uneasy when faced with Zhou Huaiying’s questions. Although Lin Jiang had talked to him about many of the political plots before he arrived, Zhou Huaiying had some tricky questions that he couldn’t explain.
It’s like plagiarizing an article, bringing someone else’s content, but it’s sometimes hard to explain how it was conceived and where the inspiration came from.
"Master, I confess honestly that these strategies were not my own ideas. There’s someone else behind them."
"I understand, tell me who it is."
Zhou Huaiying nodded, he figured it out. Besides, Yi Zhibai has been in the Immortal Alliance for quite a while now. If he has such talent, he would have shown it earlier.
"Yes, leader, it’s a newcomer from Changhe County..."
Yi Zhibai explained Lin Jiang’s situation and then told the story that Lin Jiang had shared about nurturing those rebellious individuals.
"Where did this guy come from?"
When Zhou Huaiying heard this, his first reaction was, "Where did this guy come from? How does he know so much about rebellion? What has he done?"
"He claims to be a cultivator from Bing State, but I’ve been away from the cultivation world for a long time, so I can’t verify it."
"Are you sure he’s a newcomer?"
"Yes, I’m sure. He killed Prince Jiangdu. I checked and only a newcomer would act so recklessly. Once surrounded by mortal armies, there would be no escape."
"It seems like this Divine Kingdom is becoming more interesting."
"Leader, I..."
"I didn’t mean to blame you."
"Thank you, Leader, for understanding."
"Bring that person back, don’t waste talented people."
Zhou Huaiying nodded, whoever came up with the plan didn’t matter as long as they were on the same side. Talented individuals shouldn’t be wasted.
"Congratulations, Taoist Friend Xiao. The Immortal Alliance has issued orders for you to go to Jingdu City."
Mu Ying brought Lin Jiang and showed him the latest orders from the Immortal Alliance. It had only been two months since Yi Zhibai left, and the orders had already arrived.
"It seems that Taoist Friend Yi spoke kindly of me, I must thank Taoist Friend Yi."
"Taoist Friend Xiao will make arrangements, we will depart in five days."
"No problem, five days will be enough time."
Lin Jiang nodded, he didn’t have many responsibilities, so he could easily hand them over within five days.
Five days later, Lin Jiang set off. He wasn’t alone, he was leading a group of people. The reason was to present a gift to Mu Ying. Mu Ying is publicly recognized as the princess of the former Prince of Changhe County. She has many relatives in Jingdu City and sends several batches of trusted followers to deliver gifts every year. This reason was quite appropriate.
When traveling with the convoy, the speed couldn’t be fast. It took more than twenty days to reach the outskirts of Jingdu City. Jingdu City was grand and magnificent, comparable to the great cities of the cultivation world. However, Lin Jiang wasn’t in the mood to appreciate it.
"Bing State independent cultivator Xiao Yi, greetings to the Zhou Clan Leader and all the elders."
Inside Zhou Huaiying’s mansion, Lin Jiang met with the high-ranking members of the Immortal Alliance. Before entering, someone had already briefed him on the basic situation.
"Taoist Friend Xiao, please have a seat."
"Thank you, leader."
"Yi Zhibai said, the letter he wrote, it all came from you, and it’s true."
"Yes, leader."
"It seems you have great wisdom. How do you think we can make the Divine Kingdom chaotic?"
"Xiao Yi wonders, if the Divine Kingdom becomes chaotic, will it really allow us to leave?"
Yes, I can tell you clearly, the Formation Spirit is getting weaker. If we don’thing, in another hundred thousand to two hundred thousand years, the Formation Spirit will collapse. But we don’t have that much time.
The foundation of the Formation Spirit lies in the spiritual veins of the Divine Kingdom. Currently, the spiritual veins are not evident, making them hard to find. Even if we find them, it’s difficult to destroy them. The best way is to pollute the spiritual veins with blood, to impact the Formation Spirit with resentment. This method has already been proven.
"So, we need the Divine Kingdom to erupt into internal strife?"
"Yes, the current situation is that the Divine Kingdom only experienced a major turmoil over a hundred years ago, where the imperial power changed hands. The current emperor may not be as diligent as their ancestors, but can still be called a wise ruler. The national strength of the entire Divine Kingdom is on the rise."
"Can we enter the palace and kill the emperor?"
"If we could do that, we would have done it already. Let me tell you, the palace is the only place in the entire Divine Kingdom that still has spiritual energy. There should be cultivators at the Building Foundation Period in the palace. Although we can easily kill him with our remaining strength, we cannot defeat his Formation Spirit. He not only possesses the Dutian Formation, but also has integrated dozens of other formations, some of which are extremely powerful killing formations."
"Understood. Thank you, leader."
Lin Jiang nodded. Now he had a clearer understanding. A group of cultivators cannot defeat the Formation Spirit, so they needed this method to kill it.
"Now you can talk about your plan."
"Actually, I’ve already mentioned my plan. It is the advice written by Yi Zhibai. Starting from the top, if the emperor becomes foolish, everything will be easily solved."
"The problem now is that the emperor is not foolish."
"Give him a woman."
"The emperor doesn’t lack beautiful women."
"So we need to give a beautiful and smart woman."
"We have been looking for this."
"How old is the emperor now?"
"In his forties, the Divine Kingdom has a mysterious cultivation world legacy. Although the alchemist can’t make pills, they can make some body-conditioning elixirs. The emperor in the Divine Kingdom can easily live to be seventy or eighty years old."
"Then let’s set him up, create a lie, and tell him there’s an elixir of eternal life. If he eats it, he will become immortal. Trust me, no one is not afraid of death. At least, I haven’t seen one."
Lin Jiang said. The emperor is obsessed with eternal life, and our country is in chaos.
"I told you, the Divine Kingdom has a mysterious cultivation world legacy. Although they can’t teach everyone cultivation, they have a profound understanding of it. This plan won’t work."
"No, it definitely will work. It depends on how we set the trap."
"What do you mean?"
"If you tell a teenager who is about fifteen or sixteen years old that you can only live until eighty years old, they won’t pay attention to you. They are young and healthy, so they don’t think about things that far in the future. On the other hand, if you say the same thing to someone who is forty, sixty, or even seventy years old, it would be completely different."
"I understand now. What you said makes sense. I will find a way to make plans."
"We need to do multiple things at the same time – focusing on a woman’s longevity and then the struggle for royal power. There must be many heirs to the throne."
"There are sixteen princes and over twenty princesses. Most of the princes are already adults."
"That’s easy. With sixteen princes, there will surely be someone who wants to be emperor. We just need to mobilize our forces and support some of them. There’s no need to worry about them not starting a fight."
"We’re already implementing this plan."
Zhou Huaiying nodded. They weren’t dumb. They were making their moves according to ordinary tactics.
"That’s about it. We just need one more rebellion in another place. Find a way to let people talk about the ‘Push Grace Order.’ Once the ‘Push Grace Order’ is put into effect, we can incite those seeds of rebellion in advance. With the local forces on our side, we can take the opportunity to gain more power. The conflicts between the local authorities and the imperial court will become unresolvable."
Lin Jiang said, it seemed that the Immortal Alliance already had a clear plan. They just hadn’t figured out how to implement it and how to unify their actions.
"You plan the details, we’ll support you from behind. Any questions?"
"Okay."
After hesitating for a moment, Lin Jiang agreed directly. If he were doing this in the cultivation world, he would run as far away as possible. But in the Divine Kingdom, he was actually willing to give it a try.
Although his cultivation was gone in this place, Lin Jiang still had enough remaining strength to overpower most people. He had the confidence to fight against the Divine Kingdom.
"Then that’s settled."
"Leader, wait a moment. Can the alliance help me find someone?"
"Who do you want to find?"
"About a year or two ago, there was someone who entered the Divine Kingdom. Their cultivation level was at the Soul Changing Period, and their name was Lin Batian."
"Lin Batian?"
"Did the leader know?"
"Yes, he knows. We have someone who has seen him. Who are you to him?"
"By the request of the Lin family, Xiao Yi entered the Divine Kingdom to find Lin Batian. Can we arrange a meeting with him?"
Lin Jiang was overjoyed. After being here for so long, he finally found out about Lin Batian’s whereabouts. It wasn’t a waste of his efforts.
"We have indeed encountered Lin Batian, but we cannot find him either."
"What do you mean?"
"Lin Batian and his enemy entered the Divine Kingdom together. They fought their way from Changhe County, even the Formation Spirit was involved in hunting them down. But they were not killed and they went into hiding. We saw him once outside Jingdu City, but then he disappeared. He won’t appear unless he settles the score with that enemy."
"Leader, I, Xiao, swear here that within twenty years, the Divine Kingdom will surely fall into chaos. Can we seek Lin Batian’s help with the alliance?"
"You don’t need to make an oath. We will also search for them, but not now. The alliance cannot lose its cohesion. We must wait until they finish their fight."
Zhou Huaiying shook his head. If Lin Batian comes in, the alliance will stand together against another big boss, which is not good for them and goes against the interests of the alliance.
"Let’s find Lin Batian first, no hurry to recruit him, okay?"
"Let’s talk later. You do your job well, and the alliance won’t treat you unfairly."
"Yes, leader."
Seeing that Zhou Huaiying was unwilling to agree, Lin Jiang didn’t insist. Since they knew Lin Batian had appeared in Jingdu City, they would find him themselves. Having a clue was better than being completely in the dark.
