Leon Base, Penglai Continent
In the past few days, the native soldiers on the base defenses had become noticeably panicked because they noticed that there were fewer and fewer soldiers from Shen Continent on the defense lines, while the number of robots had been increasing. By today, there was no sign of any Shen Continent soldiers.
Inside the base, it was chaotic. Workers were burning secret documents and destroying computers. The native leader, Sanqi, was pleading with Lin Hongcong. He had learned that the people from the Shen Continent were planning to leave.
"Lord Lin, have we done something wrong? Just tell us, we will fulfill all your needs..."
With a trembling voice, Sanqi said to Lin Hongcong that they had always respected the people from the Shen Continent. The best food and the finest women were always enjoyed by the people from Shen Continent first. They served them like servants, hoping that the people from Shen Continent would defend their homeland.
"General Sanqi, as one of the elite of Penglai, you should know that outsiders can’t be trusted. Huaxia and Shen Continent have only traded with Penglai. The trade is now over, and it is time for us to leave."
"Lord Lin, please have mercy on the people of Penglai. We are willing to serve you for generations, just please don’t abandon us."
"General Sanqi, I told you five years ago, we need to strengthen ourselves. Unfortunately, you missed the opportunity. Don’t say anymore. You are on our evacuation list and can leave with us."
Lin Hongcong shook his head. It was true that the countries from Shen Continent had exploited Penglai, but they had not completely cut ties. They left some benefits for Penglai, but unfortunately, these benefits were taken by the upper class of Penglai. They didn’t use them to develop Penglai’s military and economy but lived lavish lifestyles instead.
Missing the opportunity for development meant they would have to face a tragic price. If they had strengthened themselves a bit more, although they couldn’t beat the demons, they could have had a chance to evacuate some people, at least enough to have a few decent sea ships. Now, it was too late to even think about running away.
"Lord Lin, I can’t leave. I am their general, and I will fight for them until the very end."
Sanqi shook his head, he had accepted the ending, it was painful but he had no choice. Lin Hongcong and the others were determined, they would not change their minds because of his pleas.
"Good luck to you, I can still take your family away, and leave you with some more weapons and ammunition."
Lin Hongcong admired Sanqi deeply, even though he had to leave. Sanqi was someone worthy of respect.
"Thank you, Lord Lin. Please take care of my family. I hope that my descendants can return one day and live on this land again."
"They are in Huaxia, there will be no survival crisis."
Lin Hongcong nodded. Many high-ranking officials from the countries in the north of Penglai had fled. Some had already enjoyed a comfortable life in Huaxia, and Huaxia was willing to take them in. If one day the human race could fight back, they might still be useful.
After a while, Lin Hongcong arrived outside the command center. A large number of aircraft were ready. There were many natives outside the aircraft wanting to board, but most of them were rejected. Only a few people could get on board. There were some conflicts, but they were quickly suppressed.
Seeing the crying natives, Lin Hongcong felt sorry. He said, "General Sanqi, please stop them. Their blood should not be shed here. I have prepared a warehouse over there for you, with food, medicine, and ammunition, enough to support you for some time."
"Lord Lin, what should we do?"
"The demon clan’s real target is the Shen Continent. Their main forces won’t stay here for long. You can break through, you can hide, and then find a way to retreat to the Ying Continent to the north. A sea journey of five thousand kilometers is not too far, this is your last chance."
Lin Hongcong said that they left behind a lot of weapons and ammunition, even the artificial intelligence won’t be taken away. It can help them resist for a while longer, but after that, it’s hard to say. It’s up to fate.
Sanqi nodded, this was their final outcome. He quickly stepped forward and temporarily calmed down the people with a speech, then began to take full control of the Leon Base. The Leon Base has complete defenses, maybe they can hold on for a while longer.
An hour later, as the last person from the Shen Continent entered the aircraft, the aircraft’s doors closed, then lifted off and left. There were many drones and some expert cultivators escorting the aircraft, while the indigenous soldiers took over the entire base.
Together with the outer defenses, the indigenous forces numbered in the millions. In theory, they could hold on for a long time. But everyone knew they wouldn’t survive for many more days because the defense could only last due to the continuous supply of resources from Alliance Three Countries. When Lin Hongcong and his group leave, the supply line will be cut off and with the existing resources, they can only last for three more days.
"Demon Queen, the people from the Shen Continent have escaped. A scout has reported that over twenty aircraft have entered the navy of the Shen Continent, and they have already begun to flee."
Shortly after, the Heavenly Fox Demon King received the news and immediately came to report to Lin Fanghua.
"Great, we have been waiting for this day. Heavenly Fox Demon King, command our forces to remove this final nail, I will intercept them."
Demon Queen Lin Fanghua was overjoyed. Breaking through the defense of the Leon Base was difficult for her, mainly because she sensed a great threat there. But once they reach the sea, it will be the demon clan’s domain, as the sea monsters almost control the entire Endless Sea.
The Demon Queen summoned most of the high-level Demon Kings and rushed to the sea, where a fierce battle was still ongoing. The aircraft carrier formation was advancing at full speed, surrounded by numerous sea monsters emerging to intercept them. Both sides were fighting fiercely.
"Red Snake Dragon King, go command the sea monsters and make sure to stop them."
"Yes, Demon Queen."
"Fire Scale Demon Emperor, come with me to charge ahead. Today, none of them will escape."
The Demon Queen gave orders to several Demon Kings. By her side was a Tao Achieving level Demon Emperor. Currently, the demon clan had three Demon Emperors – one guarding the Demon God Temple and the other being the Fire Scale Demon Emperor.
The demon clan’s high-ranking members launched an assault. The firepower from the aircraft carrier formation was almost ineffective against them. The Demon Queen flew through countless bullets and shells to hover over an aircraft carrier, unleashing a burst of Phoenix Fire. A protective shield rose around the aircraft carrier.
However, the aircraft carrier itself had no formation and relied entirely on spirit stones for energy supply. Before long, cracks began to appear in the formation on the aircraft carrier, as if it were about to collapse.
"Boom!"
Just then, a massive sword appeared on the aircraft carrier, releasing countless sword energies. Cao Ying appeared.
Not only Cao Ying, but also Lin Jiang showed up. He suddenly appeared behind the Fire Scale Demon Emperor, swung his sword and unleashed the Lamp Burning Technique. The power, boosted fifty times, made the Fire Scale Demon Emperor unable to ignore the attack and had to turn around to defend.
In the next moment, Lin Jiang’s figure disappeared instantly and reappeared hundreds of miles away. Then a huge bow appeared in Lin Jiang’s hand, the Sagittarius Bow.
"Boom, boom..."
Lin Jiang kept shooting arrows, while the Fire Scale Demon Emperor kept swatting them down. Filled with anger, he tried to pounce on Lin Jiang, but Lin Jiang vanished again.
Lin Jiang was like a pesky fly, constantly harassing the Fire Scale Demon Emperor. However, the Demon Emperor couldn’t catch him either. Every time he tried to get close, Lin Jiang would disappear without a trace, making him impossible to catch.
"Those darn humans, have the guts to fight me face to face!"
Enraged, the Fire Scale Demon Emperor roared at Lin Jiang, finding the fly-like creature extremely annoying.
Lin Jiang paid him no attention, continuing to teleport around. He now held another treasure in his hand, the newly excavated Spatiotemporal Mirror.
"Let’s go quickly, don’t get tangled up with them."
In the command room, Lin Hongcong observed the situation outside and immediately ordered to continue full-speed escape. At this moment, the Demon Emperor of the demon clan and the Tao Achieving of the human clan were full of momentum, scaring off the low-level demon beasts early on. They were actually the safest, having a chance to escape.
"Want to run, don’t let them run, stop them."
When the Demon Queen saw the fleet trying to escape, she immediately roared. The Demon King who was fighting with the cultivator immediately went after the fleet. Although many Demon Kings from the demon clan had been separated, they still outnumbered the cultivators, making it difficult for them to stop the pursuit.
"Boom"
A Demon King landed on the deck of a frigate. With a flash of light, the deck was cleared, and then the Demon King violently dismantled the weapons on the deck.
The heavy deck couldn’t withstand the Demon King’s attack. With a casual blow, a deep pit appeared on the deck. Cultivators rushed out from the cabin, wielding Spiritual Cannons, firing at the Demon King.
The Demon King grimaced in pain, letting out a roar. Several cultivators spat blood and fell to the ground, but there were still more people rushing out from the cabin. Some war robots also appeared, continuously firing at the Demon King.
Several warships, destroyers included, were tangled up by the Demon King, falling behind the rest of the fleet. Meanwhile, drones were taking off from the aircraft carrier, firing at the Demon King.
"Boom, boom."
In the sky, a group of armed aircraft appeared through the clouds. They launched missiles accurately, attacking the Demon King on the deck and blowing it to pieces.
Soon after, the Demon King flew up into the air to chase after those aircraft. The pilots, using their exceptional skills, kept evading the pursuit and some even managed to fight back.
At the same time, a spacecraft was flying high in the sky, almost reaching the atmosphere. Lin Jiang’s bodyguard Wu Li was inside the aircraft.
"Take action!"
Wu Li was waiting for orders and heard Lin Jiang’s command through his earpiece, which made him tremble.
"Prepare to release nuclear weapons, target the central part of Penglai Continent, coordinates..."
Wu Li relayed the message to the pilot, providing the complete coordinates and operational code. The pilot entered the codes one by one, and a combat chamber slowly opened in the aircraft’s belly.
