On the way to the West Qing Archive, Agunas remained silent, and Feng Yuan didn’t mind, after all, the Agunas beside him was just a duplicate, the real body was probably busy with something else. However, what he did not know was that Agunas was currently seeking data on the Molan Giant Pit from the top tier of Great Xia.
Initially, it didn’t care much, after all, the Molan Giant Pit didn’t look problematic. However, the secrecy level of the archives subtly suggested its complexity.
It wasn’t out of paranoia; it was fully aware of Feng Yuan’s permission level within Great Xia. Although Feng Yuan was not an official member, due to his past assistance, he effectively had a high level of clearance within Great Xia, allowing him to access most of the data.
It was just that Feng Yuan had no interest in this area and didn’t pay attention to this part of the information, so he didn’t connect it to any potential issues with these archives that required an in-person review.
After all, people without sufficient clearance might just barely access certain data, and as for taking copies? That was impossible, so Feng Yuan didn’t give it much thought.
However, Agunas was clearly aware that Feng Yuan’s clearance was enough for him to take and even obtain some non-key confidential data through effective safeguarding networks. Feng Yuan needing to view it in person only suggested that the Molan Giant Pit was not as simple as it appeared.
Given Agunas’s standing in the United Army, asking Great Xia for these files wasn’t an issue, as on the surface, Agunas still belonged to the United Army’s high echelon.
"The archive seems to be over this way, hmm, this short?"
Following the map directions, Feng Yuan found the archive hidden on the street corner, unlike the grand building he imagined. The one-story bungalow before him felt like an outlier amidst the towering buildings.
Yet, regardless of the nameplate or the map guidance, both explicitly identified this toilet-like building as the actual archive.
"Disguise? That makes sense to lower the risk of enemy attacks due to insufficient protective power."
Veronia quickly understood why this archive appeared so strange; this area wasn’t considered a secret. Typically, even in an attack, it wouldn’t be a primary target.
After all, it’s just a place for storing archives, and important secrets might not even be here, or even in an attack, it wouldn’t easily yield those secret files.
As for the appearance? The ground level wasn’t meant to attract attention, preventing uninformed individuals from perceiving it as a significant place and launching an attack.
In Veronia’s perception, the underground area spanned across this whole street block, and the deep part beneath the building foundations was where they actually stored the archives.
The ground level was merely a service window for the public, and this little bungalow sufficed.
Of course, if there’s sufficient defense capability like in Shangjing or Shenhua, their archives are quite gallant, and they don’t need so many rolls of disguise when they have enough defensive power.
"Uh, insufficient protective powers? Indeed, Xiqing’s situation is similar to Maomu City."
Recalling previously read information on Xiqing, Feng Yuan scratched his head and mentioned, like Maomu City, Xiqing was just another unassuming city within Great Xia. However, due to rich mineral resources, Xiqing is notably stronger.
After all, before reaching the Legendary Level, the resources for a Beast Tamer could be acquired with money; with money comes resources to nurture beasts. Though as one nears the Legendary Level, the impact of money diminishes.
Hence, the overall power of Xiqing is stronger than Maomu City but still limited, as Maomu City boasts Cha Mu Town, a rather unique area.
Shortly after Feng Yuan and his group entered the archive, Agunas, silently following him, suddenly meaningfully glanced at Veronia, who noticed Agunas’ peculiar gaze and turned to say displeasingly
"Little Crocodile! Why are you giving me that look?"
Shaking its tail, Agunas said
"There are suspicious crystalline creatures deep within the Molan Pit. These crystalline creatures have strange inscriptions unrecorded before, presumably related to ancient times."
"Hmph? What are you trying to say?"
"This is human documentation, ancient times, crystalline creatures, don’t they evoke anything for you?"
"You think it’s related to me? Impossible."
With a light hum, Veronia remarked, although many of its ultimate moves involved crystals, that was simply its hobby. As the ruler of the World of Mirrors, its main ultimate moves weren’t crystal methods.
That much, it believed the Little Crocodile definitely knew, as despite not confronting on the battlefield, it was surely aware of its situation.
"It sounds like a bit of trouble; yet, it’s a pity that now having pulled the archives, not walking around seems a waste."
Agunas and Veronia didn’t avoid others or lower their voices when speaking, thus Feng Yuan overheard their conversation.
Giving Feng Yuan a glance, Agunas flicked its tail and said
"So far, no dangers have been found in that place. Yet, based on human research, they noticed sections of the Molan Giant Pit resembling mining structures, possibly related to the crystalline creatures of Molan."
"It’s just that there’s limited research on crystalline creatures; it’s known merely that they are non-life special creations, origins unknown, and why they linger deep within the Molan Pit, engaging in mining activities, is similarly unknown."
Though this part is classified as a secret archive, Agunas didn’t worry about leaks, because even if Feng Yuan didn’t manage it, it intended to investigate and manage the crystalline creations in the Molan Pit.
Non-life indicated those things weren’t living, classifying them perhaps under human sci-fi artificial intelligence robots.
Since they only roamed the depths, and after fruitless research, they were left alone by humans.
Mainly due to the unidentified energy reactions beneath the Molan Pit, and the inability to employ digging ultimate moves at the pit’s bottom. Excavating the source of unidentified energy reactions was exceedingly challenging.
Until it’s determined whether there’s any association between the unidentified energy reactions and those crystal creatures, humans dare not act recklessly.
Since ruins, not handled properly, could lead to big issues.
"Hmm, this sounds quite troublesome, yet... these archive materials here don’t contain a complete account of these things."
At this point, Feng Yuan also obtained the archives kept there, similar to what Agunas mentioned, detailing the crystalline creatures in the Molan Giant Pit, however, missing are records of the activities or further specifics of these creatures.
Even the concept of crystalline creatures as non-biological special creations wasn’t recorded in these archives.
"Great Xia Research Institute."
Agunas casually mentioned that these materials naturally weren’t found in the West Qing Archive, yet it didn’t expect the detailed records to be incomplete at West Qing Archive, or rather should say, lacking.
"So you suspect that creation is mine? During the Mythical Era, I didn’t dabble in such special miners. Even with time’s changes, I’ve never made similar things."
Veronia rolled its eyes, annoyed, claiming its personality would never lead to constructing crystalline miners. Moreover, in the Mythical Era, such endeavors didn’t require its involvement.
Agunas indifferently remarked, lightly snorting, Veronia retorted displeasedly
"Who says? Alorick is actually the expert in this area, although I have no idea if it survived."
"Alorick of the Crystal Radiant Divine Pillar? I forgot about it."
Shaking its tail, Agunas mused about the unknown energy response beneath; could it be Alorick?
Though it wasn’t a top-level Divine Beast like them; not too far behind, the Crystal Radiant Divine Pillar was its title, and regarding authority, Alorick wielded the rather special Radiant Crystal Authority, exactly what that entailed Agunas did not know.
Just based on its combat demonstrations, one might guess it involved various special crystal stone abilities, if it truly was it, maybe...
