"Go underwater? But... none of us know how to dive, and those luggages..."
Mo Li looked at Feng Yuan with some doubt. Even as a Spirit Beast of the water type, not anyone could take people underwater. Only water-type Spirit Beasts of the Elite Level could move freely underwater with humans without causing them to drown. As for setting up a Barrier? That was the stuff of legends. Moreover, since Great Li itself didn’t have any large rivers or the like, Mo Li and the others really didn’t know if water-type Spirit Beasts could carry people and move freely underwater.
"A Barrier is nothing for Kui Shui Xuanwu. It can easily set up a Barrier to keep the seawater out."
"And provide oxygen."
Feng Yuan glanced at Guo Huai and added. Others might not have this doubt, but it was uncertain when it came to Guo Huai. For ancient humans, they had no idea what oxygen was. However, to Yao Yin, it was common knowledge that a Barrier could ensure the survival of life within it.
"I’m not an idiot..."
Guo Huai noticed Feng Yuan’s look and said somewhat speechlessly, while Mo Li thought for a moment and said,
"The underwater world? Seems pretty interesting."
"Too bad you still have things to tend to. Once you go underwater, you will almost lose any contact with the outside world. Little messenger birds definitely can’t dive into the Deep Sea."
Mo Li smiled lightly and glanced at Mo Ling before saying,
"My business is already taken care of. There shouldn’t be any urgent matters that need to reach me next. It’s a pity your avatar isn’t in Yongning right now; otherwise, if there were any particularly urgent matters, you could have had it inform me, right?"
"How did you know I can exchange information with my avatar?"
Looking at Feng Yuan, Mo Li said with a smile,
"Even though you didn’t say, I could guess."
"Tch! That’s because I didn’t hide it. Otherwise, look at the Eldest Prince and the others; they’re still in the dark because of me."
Seeing Feng Yuan’s smug face, Guo Huai curled his lip and said disdainfully,
"You just took advantage of their lack of knowledge. They wouldn’t think you’d have a martial force avatar, let alone being able to split into so many."
Speaking of this, Guo Huai had to admire the power of the White Wolf Deity. Ordinary Spirit Beasts, even at the Legendary Level, could at most maintain one combat-capable avatar. But Feng Yuan had two avatars of his own, not even including those of the White Wolf Deity itself. This was still without knowing about the ruckus the White Wolf Deity and Feng Yuan had caused separately in Yongning and Great Li recently. Otherwise, he really would wonder if the White Wolf Deity could actually do such a feat.
"Let’s get something to eat first, then go play in the underwater world~"
Once Feng Yuan confirmed Mo Li indeed had no pressing matters, he happily suggested. Upon hearing his words, Mo Ling and Yao Yin went to help Liu Wenli with the food preparations, and as for Mo Li? Though it couldn’t be said her cooking was terrible, it was indeed not very good.
"Come back!"
After lunch, Feng Yuan called out to the flying little messenger birds. Hearing his call, the small birds landed in a row on the railing, puzzled. Feng Yuan threw some fruit to the birds and made a gesture towards the head of Kui Shui Xuanwu. A pale blue, translucent Protective Shield enveloped Kui Shui Xuanwu entirely.
With a swift dive, Kui Shui Xuanwu plunged into the sea. Through the transparent Protective Shield, everyone could clearly see the surrounding environment. Fish startled by the intrusion swiftly fled from Kui Shui Xuanwu’s vicinity. Seeing this, Feng Yuan said somewhat disappointedly,
"It’s a shame. If Delong Tower were here, those fish wouldn’t run away but would come closer instead."
"And then you’d turn them all into grilled fish?"
Feng Yuan glanced at Guo Huai and retorted,
"How could that be! All grilled fish would get boring. There should be fish soup, pan-fried fish, and the like~"
"So your goal is to have ingredients come to you on their own?"
"More than that, they should also be able to cook themselves~"
"Your demands..."
"Oh, right!"
Feng Yuan suddenly remembered something, took out the Lantern, and shook it. Suddenly, everyone felt the environment become brighter. The seawater, which had begun to darken and blur as they delved deeper, suddenly turned clear and bright.
"What did you do now?"
Liu Wenli looked at Feng Yuan curiously. She was not like Mo Li and the others, who had never been underwater and were unaware of the specifics. She had dived into the sea near the beach under Amon’s guidance. Although it was quite shallow and the brightness underwater hadn’t changed much, the water was still a bit turbid.
"My lord, otherwise how could you see clearly? It’s still alright since it’s relatively shallow now, but later when we head deeper, I’m afraid with your level of strength, you won’t be able to see anything."
"They can’t either?"
Guo Huai regarded Wei Dingwu and Liu Wenli skeptically. As for Wei Fangwu? He was not interested in the underwater world, busily engaged in teaching his White Ape martial master how to utilize Qi.
"It’s not that they can’t, it’s just they haven’t learned the relevant techniques, and they rely on infusion, which means continuously consuming the Spirit Beast’s power to see clearly around them."
"Look at them."
Feng Yuan pointed at Amon, who was holding onto a bear’s paw, and Wei Dingwu’s Telekinetic Brown Bear, both drooling over the fish swimming by outside, especially after just having tasted the tempting honey-roasted fish. Those fish looked like succulent moving honey-roasted fish in their eyes, making them drool with craving.
If it hadn’t been for Liu Wenli and the others stopping them, they probably would’ve rushed into the sea to enjoy the ’gourmet food’ already. And drown? As long as they were at Elite Level, most Spirit Beasts could move freely underwater, even those of the Earth System and Fire System, though they just couldn’t take others with them for an underwater jaunt.
"Do you want to use ’Coming of the Future’ to play in the water?"
Feng Yuan tempted Xiao Ji again with a ’devilish’ offer and glanced at him. Xiao Ji turned away dissatisfied, not liking water, especially seawater. It must be uncomfortable to get it all over one’s body.
"Ball Whale?!"
Feng Yuan shouted in excitement upon seeing a blue spherical Spirit Beast swimming by outside. He quickly shed his robe, tossed it aside carelessly, and leaped out of the barrier under everyone’s gaze. Seeing Feng Yuan’s actions, the two Telekinetic Brown Bears finally couldn’t hold back either, exchanging looks before plunging into the water.
"This guy..."
As he watched Feng Yuan hug the Ball Whale swimming by, the phantom of Agunas spoke somewhat helplessly, and Mo Ling, somewhat tempted, asked
"Can we go in too?"
"Best not. That fellow has the ability to survive in all kinds of environments, which you don’t. Your biggest possibility if you rush out of the barrier would be drowning, though she’s an exception," explained the phantom of Agunas, glancing at Yao Yin. Scowling at the spectral Agunas, Yao Yin retorted discontentedly,
"Little Crocodile, what do you mean? What’s with the exception? It’s like you’re saying I’m not human!"
"Oh, forget it. How could you mortals understand the grandeur of a divine being like myself? Let’s go~"
Yao Yin slapped a Talisman onto Mo Ling and pulled her toward the water, thinking for a moment as she passed by Liu Wenli and Wei Dingwu before taking out two more Talismans and applying them to the pair.
"This works?"
Seeing Yao Yin and Mo Ling swimming in the water with no signs of breathing troubles, Guo Huai exclaimed in surprise. Wei Dingwu glanced at Liu Wenli and suggested,
"Shall we give it a try?"
With a gentle smile, Liu Wenli responded,
"I trust she wouldn’t harm us."
"They talked about admiring the underwater world, but they’ve gone off to play in the water themselves," grumbled Guo Huai, watching the group swim away. As for whether they’d lose track of Kui Shui Xuanwu because it was moving? Don’t forget Feng Yuan was over there. With his tendency to treat Kui Shui Xuanwu like a taxi, he might just get it to turn around and pick people up.
Seeing Feng Yuan’s figure gradually disappear, Xiao Ji panicked, calling out incessantly. But Feng Yuan seemed not to hear at all, and with a grievous tear, Xiao Ji used the power of ’Coming of the Future’ to transform into a big black bird and dive into the water. Seeing Xiao Ji’s aggrieved and angry look, Guo Huai didn’t need to guess that Feng Yuan was going to suffer upon his return.
Glancing at Little Green Snake, Guo Huai curiously asked,
"Aren’t you going to follow them into the water?"
Little Green Snake gave Guo Huai a look as though he were an idiot, pointing with her tail at the restless Pomiti, seemingly helpless.
"You really have it tough."
Guo Huai said sympathetically. Looking at the almost unchanging seawater around him, he puzzled,
"We’re still in shallow water now, aren’t we? Why does it seem so deep?"
