"Disdain... He probably just meant that the sea we are in isn’t quite a real sea, right?"
Cheng Yong hesitated for a moment before speaking, and Elder Xia Yu chuckled and said,
"Pretty much, he looks down on the sea he calls the ’Black Sea,’ yet for us it poses no small threat..."
"I have to disagree, I’ve talked to Cheng Yong about it, and what he’s referring to is the power of the sea storms. We’ve seen the storms of the real Starlit Sea, and compared to those, the danger level of the Black Sea is indeed lower."
"As for the issue of resources, don’t those people in the ice plains and deserts also live like that? Only those stuffed to the brim from living in the secure central region of the Divine Land would fight all day long over nothing."
The village elder said with an envious tone, and Elder Xia Yu smiled and said,
"If you put it that way, it’s not wrong."
"You take them to the back to Sea God Mountain tomorrow, tell them they better bring their stuff. If it’s inconvenient to carry, they can leave it at the Shell Coin Bureau, here’s the key. If I’m not here, use this to open the bureau’s vault."
Cheng Yong looked at the key Elder Xia Yu handed over with surprise and said a bit nervously,
"Is it really necessary to use the vault? There are a lot of our important treasures in there."
"They won’t care, and I trust you."
Patted Cheng Yong’s shoulder, Elder Xia Yu said with a smile. Cheng Yong held the key tightly, somewhat excited, while the village elder glanced at Elder Xia Yu and said,
"Now there’s another problem, if we keep following that city, will others have a hard time finding our location?"
"They shouldn’t, with the Divine Lord of the Sea around, they won’t find it difficult to locate us."
Elder Xia Yu seemed to recall something amusing and said, the most esteemed Divine Lord of the Sea became quite strange in front of Feng Yuan, either fishing or delivering messages, without showing any airs. The village elder said with some concern,
"Will the Divine Lord of the Sea really help us?"
In their eyes, the Divine Lord of the Sea hardly paid attention to anyone’s request, only doing what he felt was right, and he hadn’t communicated with people either. Otherwise, how could the Maritime People be divided? With Delong Tower’s status, if it spoke up, nobody would oppose its views.
Elder Xia Yu glanced at Cheng Yong and said,
"Let him talk to him tomorrow and try. The Divine Lord of the Sea might not care about us, but he should follow his commands."
"I really wonder who he is..."
The village elder sighed, unable to imagine what kind of existence Feng Yuan was to easily command the lofty Divine Lord of the Sea.
"Sea God Mountain?"
Hearing Cheng Yong’s words, Feng Yuan glanced at Delong Tower, who had summoned several water spheres floating in the air, occasionally leaping from the sphere he was in to another. Noticing Feng Yuan’s gaze, Delong Tower looked at him with some confusion.
Scratching his head, Cheng Yong said somewhat embarrassedly,
"We made up that name, to express our respect for the Divine Lord of the Sea. That mountain is a very important place."
"If it’s that important, we better not go, so as to avoid accidentally damaging anything."
Feng Yuan waved his hand in refusal, aware that sometimes he acted on a whim. If he really went to an important place, it wouldn’t be surprising if he caused damage. The islands in the Island Jellyfish’s subsidiary space don’t recover as easily as natural islands in the outside world; any accident could spell disaster for both the Island Jellyfish and its islands.
"That’s not what I mean... It’s just..."
"Come on, they’ve invited you with good intentions, and you’re still like this."
Yao Yin said disapprovingly to Feng Yuan who scratched his head and said helplessly,
"That’s not what I mean..."
"At least you’re self-aware enough to know your own destructive power."
Guo Huai said calmly, not thinking that Feng Yuan was expressing discontent. At least from what he had observed during their time together, that guy was never so indirect; if he were truly upset, he’d say it outright.
Mo Li noticed that Mo Ling seemed also interested in Sea God Mountain, so he spoke up, encouraging Feng Yuan. Liu Wenli simply found it amusing to oppose Feng Yuan, and so, surrounded by everyone’s pressures, Feng Yuan agreed to join them in visiting Sea God Mountain. Just as they were about to set off, Cheng Yong looked a little embarrassedly at Delong Tower and asked,
"Could you ask it for a favor?"
"Delong Tower?"
"We need to assemble some people for a meeting, but now we have to follow that island, and I’m concerned that they won’t be able to find us."
"I see."
Feng Yuan said, looking towards Delong Tower. At that moment, the gigantic jade stone area that had supported Nanyu City to the bottom of the sea had reverted to its previous state. Nanyu City was slowly moving forward on the sea, and to accommodate Feng Yuan and his party, who wished to escort the city, the Island Jellyfish were following at a great distance, constantly on the move.
Delong Tower let out a roar, and everyone could see golden rings of light continuously emerging around the Island Jellyfish, slowly spreading out in all directions. Feng Yuan turned to Cheng Yong and said,
"That should do it~"
"What is that?"
Guo Huai was curious, as the golden rings of light seemed to have no special effect and didn’t leave any traces along the way. He couldn’t figure out how those things could possibly give direction.
"The Sea Proclamation. Strictly speaking, it’s not exactly a trump card. The effect is to notify all the Spirit Beasts within a sea area of a specified message."
"A system broadcast?!"
Guo Huai looked at Delong Tower in surprise, not expecting such an ability.
"Roughly, it’ll continue to announce our whereabouts, so we don’t have to worry about others not being able to find us. By the way, you don’t have enemies chasing after you, do you?"
Feng Yuan recalled something as he looked at Cheng Yong. The Sea Proclamation didn’t have the ability to target specific individuals. As long as they were Spirit Beasts in the Black Sea, all would get the message. If there were enemies, surely they would be able to follow easily. After thinking it over, Cheng Yong shook his head and said,
"No, if there are any, they’re just the Maritime People, and they wouldn’t do such a thing."
He was well aware that the Maritime People’s respect for Delong Tower was no less than theirs. This sort of thing, clearly a feat of Delong Tower’s doing, wouldn’t be used for so-called vendettas as that would be a desecration of Delong Tower in their view.
Moreover, their differences hadn’t escalated to the point of a relentless pursuit. They had merely encountered each other by chance. And now, the old gentleman had even invited them to discuss matters together. At this thought, Cheng Yong was somewhat troubled. However, when he considered that dealing with the situation was the village chief’s responsibility, he suddenly breathed a sigh of relief and silently resolved never to contest for the position of village chief.
When everyone was packing up to leave, a small dispute arose due to luggage storage issues. Feng Yuan and his party didn’t want the hassle of leaving their luggage at the Shell Coin Bureau, but Cheng Yong suggested that carrying too much stuff would make it very difficult to move around inside Sea God Mountain.
"Can’t we just put it on White Wolf Deity?"
Feng Yuan casually proposed, and Guo Huai glanced at him before saying,
"I’ve noticed you really like to exploit Divine Beasts. It’s true for White Wolf Deity, Kui Shui Xuanwu, and even Delong Tower. You have them all doing strange tasks."
"What’s strange about it? That pile of luggage isn’t much trouble for White Wolf Deity anyway."
As he spoke, Feng Yuan directly took the luggage that Mo Ling was carrying and placed a pocketed sack on the White Wolf Deity, stuffing all the items into the bag that was much smaller than the luggage itself.
"See, isn’t that taken care of?"
"Are you using the White Wolf Deity as a horse..."
Guo Huai watched Feng Yuan speechlessly, while Mo Li hesitated and then said after taking a glance at Zi Mo,
"No, put it on Zi Mo instead. What you’re doing to the Divine Lord is a bit too..."
Zi Mo snorted without objection. Feng Yuan’s method, in its view, seemed odd, especially since the White Wolf Deity was only the size of a medium-sized dog at the moment, and Feng Yuan was putting such heavy items on it.
"It’s not necessary, Zi Mo isn’t as good at carrying things as it is."
Feng Yuan said while hefting the bottom of the sack. Despite having stuffed such large luggage into it, the bag showed no change whatsoever. Mo Ling, somewhat worried, approached and tried to heft the bag just as Feng Yuan had, exclaiming in surprise,
"How is that possible?! It doesn’t weigh anything?"
"Of course, it’s not the bag’s own ability."
As he spoke, Feng Yuan lifted the pocketed sack, and the pocket where the luggage was placed suddenly swelled up. Feng Yuan didn’t dare to lift it completely and quickly put the pocketed sack back. Liu Wenli looked puzzled,
"What’s going on there?"
She knew about the strange Spatial Bags of Spirit Beasts, such as Amon’s Traveler Bear form before evolution, which had a cloth bag capable of holding items. However, that bag’s spatial capacity wasn’t particularly large, and it was integral to the Traveler Bear. The pocketed sack didn’t seem at all like part of the White Wolf Deity.
