"Thank you all for supporting me like this!"
"I know that as just one small streamer, fighting against a colossal platform like this is like a mantis trying to stop a chariot—completely overestimating my own strength. But with all of you here, I feel so much more confident now!"
Lin Xiaoman’s eyes were red. Her pitiful yet slightly stubborn appearance made all the straight guys watching the screen feel their hearts ache for her.
"But you don’t need to spend money or effort on my behalf. I’m not trying to put on a show. I just want to challenge these unreasonable ’unspoken rules,’ so I only need everyone to do me one favor."
Lin Xiaoman’s voice, tinged with tears yet strong, would make even someone with a heart of stone feel a pang of sympathy.
"We’d go through fire and water for you! It’s our duty!"
"We’ll spend the money and do the work, no matter the cost!"
"We’ll always be your family, always your backup..."
The bullet comments blazed across the screen like a wildfire through a forest. A single spark had truly started a raging inferno!
"I just hope that all of you can spread my accusation this time, and let more people hear our voices!"
What Lin Xiaoman wanted was momentum, for more people to get involved, for the pressure of public opinion.
"This isn’t just about me, a small streamer, mustering the courage to fight the injustice forced upon me by a giant platform. This is a war for every single one of us in front of our screens, a struggle against all the tyrannical, exploitative, and powerful organizations in our society!"
Lin Xiaoman’s voice had taken on a heroic, almost tragic quality, and it was precisely this quality that stirred the passionate, righteous feelings buried deep in everyone’s hearts.
Even Lin Feng, who was also watching the stream, couldn’t help but feel his blood boil as a fire ignited in his eyes.
’It was true. The cruelty of this society had already smoothed away most people’s sharp edges. The so-called ’doctrine of the mean’ had made even more people simply bow before power, acting subserviently just to get by.’
’It was tragic, yet it was the norm...’
But now, Lin Xiaoman, in the body of a seemingly delicate woman, was standing tall, holding the flag of rebellion, and igniting everyone’s buried passion for fairness and their desire to fight back!
’Looks like she’s wasting her talent just being a streamer!’
Lin Feng truly hadn’t expected his sister to have such a gift for rallying people. With this kind of talent and ability, just being a streamer was a complete waste!
The number of viewers in the stream had already reached over 4 million, and Lin Xiaoman’s follower count had swelled to 5 million.
This was not only a first in Lin Xiaoman’s streaming career, but a first for the Douhu platform as well.
After all, in the live-streaming industry, the top few platforms had already cornered two-thirds of the audience, leaving a relatively small market for Douhu.
Even Douhu’s top streamers had never had over 4 million people watching them simultaneously!
All of this had long since alarmed Douhu’s quality control team and upper management, but with so many people watching, they didn’t dare make any rash moves.
A senior manager from the quality control team had no choice but to call Jin Taian late at night. In a situation like this, no one else could bear the responsibility unless the boss gave the order.
"We’re such a huge platform, and you’re telling me we’re being threatened by a tiny streamer? What the hell does your quality control team even do? Where are the mods? Ban her stream immediately! Ban her account—for thirty years! You think I’m going to be threatened by her?"
Jin Taian was in Vegas at that moment, enjoying the youthful energy of some girls he’d picked up while clubbing. The call from quality control sent him into a rage, and his drunken brain was in no condition to consider the serious consequences of his actions—not that he wanted to know anyway.
Douhu was still quite efficient.
A minute later, a line of text suddenly appeared on the screens of over 4 million viewers:
[Content suspected of violating regulations. The stream has been terminated!]
He’d finally gotten what he was waiting for!
In Lin Feng’s plan, this stream needed to have two major climaxes.
The first was Lin Xiaoman’s tearful plea.
The second was the platform’s panicked rage!
Lin Feng had been betting all along—betting that Sun Qing and Jin Taian wouldn’t have the magnanimity or the foresight to handle this gracefully.
This time, Lin Feng’s gamble paid off!
"Bro, my stream got banned! What do I do now?"
Lin Xiaoman called him in a panic. She had originally planned to say more, but the sudden ban had thrown her plans into disarray.
"It’s fine. Douhu banning you right now is more effective than anything else you could have said!"
"Next, we need the other streamers in your group to make their move. You just need to show up in their streams to support them!"
Lin Xiaoman stared at the disconnected call, a look of confusion on her face. Although she didn’t know why her brother had arranged things this way, her long-held, almost blind trust in him made her suppress her doubts.
At that moment, Sun Qing and Jin Taian had no idea that a devastating catastrophe was about to befall them.
This was destined to be an extraordinary night. In the niche yet burgeoning live-streaming industry, an unprecedented earthquake had just struck.
One Lin Xiaoman had fallen, but thousands upon thousands more had risen to take her place.
Immediately, dozens of other streamers also began denouncing Douhu’s "unspoken rules" in their own streams.
If Lin Xiaoman was an angry kitten, then these other streamers were like ferocious jackals. Their language was extremely harsh, and some of the more fiery streamers had even started cursing.
Of course, their streams were quickly banned as well.
But they had gotten things off to a great start. With these high-traffic streamers stepping up to condemn Douhu’s actions, despite the risk of having their own accounts banned.
Although this was tantamount to career suicide, and not every streamer agreed with such actions, others were now leading the charge and generating massive traffic. Capitalizing on the principle of "safety in numbers" and driven by herd mentality, the smaller streamers also began to voice their own complaints. Before long, more than half of the active streamers on Douhu were exposing the platform’s "unspoken rules."
Of course, many were now exaggerating the truth, but that no longer mattered.
Because Douhu’s quality control team was now so overwhelmed that if a streamer so much as mentioned the phrase "unspoken rules," their channel would be banned on the spot.
In an instant, nearly half of all active streams on the platform were banned.
Immediately after, all top ten trending spots on Weibo were completely taken over by Douhu!
This was a rare event for Weibo. Outside of a celebrity announcing a new relationship, this was the first time a company’s labor relations issue had been pushed directly to the top of the trending list!
