Faced with the lecherous man’s advances, Su Ruoxi froze for a moment and frowned slightly.
"I’m sorry."
"I didn’t bring my campus card today, either. I don’t live on campus."
Su Ruoxi’s rejection was already perfectly clear.
But apparently, the man didn’t know how to take a hint.
Without a hint of embarrassment, he took two more steps toward Su Ruoxi.
"What a coincidence! You didn’t bring yours either. This must be fate. Why don’t you give me your contact info?"
"How about we be friends?"
Su Ruoxi’s brow furrowed. She subtly took a step back. "Sorry, I’m not interested in making new friends."
Su Ruoxi was truly a rare beauty. Even with impatience etched on her face, she still possessed a certain cold allure.
The short man stared, his eyes glazed over, his expression growing even more lecherous.
He practically leaned right into Su Ruoxi’s face. "Hey, beautiful. My name is Li Yang. My family’s in the coal business."
"Why don’t we be friends? I’ll make it worth your while!"
Su Ruoxi glared, ready to smash her book into the shameless man’s face, when a tall figure strode over.
It was none other than Lin Feng.
The moment Lin Feng walked out of the library, he saw Su Ruoxi being cornered by the short, lecherous man.
Without a second thought, he strode over, grabbed the man by the collar, and slammed him onto the ground.
The moment Su Ruoxi saw Lin Feng, it was as if she’d found her anchor.
She let out a long sigh of relief and nestled against Lin Feng’s side.
Her whole demeanor softened.
Li Yang had landed hard, probably on his tailbone...
He howled in pain.
Scrambling to his feet, he glared viciously at Lin Feng. "Who the hell do you think you are? You dare touch me?"
Lin Feng advanced on Li Yang, a cold sneer spreading across his face.
"Something like you thinks it’s worthy of talking to me?"
Li Yang was only a little over 1.7 meters tall. In front of Lin Feng, who was well over 1.8 meters, he seemed like a child.
Especially with Lin Feng’s ferocious aura bearing down on him, Li Yang’s initial arrogance quickly deflated.
After all, Lin Feng had picked him up and slammed him to the ground as if he were a baby chick.
When it came to a physical fight, Li Yang knew he didn’t stand a chance.
But with a beautiful woman watching, how could a man lose face?
While subtly backing away, Li Yang puffed out his chest and yelled, "My business with that girl has nothing to do with you!"
Expression unchanging, Lin Feng cracked his knuckles.
"She’s my girlfriend."
Li Yang froze, but this wasn’t the first time he’d tried to steal someone’s girl.
Throw enough money at the problem, and the girl was his.
Once he got bored, he’d dump her. For Li Yang, this was just business as usual.
He’d even stolen girls right out from under their boyfriends’ noses plenty of times before.
But for some reason, facing Lin Feng today, Li Yang felt a knot of fear in his stomach.
It was like an animal facing a predator; a powerful sense of danger stopped him from courting disaster.
He could only force himself to sneer. "Hmph! This isn’t over! You just wait!"
With that, Li Yang turned to leave.
Lin Feng stepped forward and clamped a hand on Li Yang’s shoulder. "I should be saying that to you. You think you can just walk away?"
The hairs on Li Yang’s arms stood on end. He watched Lin Feng warily, and then, thinking he saw an opening, kicked out at his shin.
Then he turned to run.
Lin Feng remained unhurried, showing no intention of giving chase.
That was because just as Li Yang was spouting his threats, both Lin Feng and Su Ruoxi had spotted some familiar faces heading their way.
It was none other than Lin Feng’s three roommates.
The area was wide open, with no obstructions.
So, even from a distance, Cao Ming and the other two could see Lin Feng in an apparent conflict with a shorter guy.
It looked like they exchanged a few words before the guy tried to leave.
Then Lin Feng stepped forward, grabbing the guy’s shoulder to stop him.
Yang Qiniang and the others also caught a clear view of the short guy trying to kick Lin Feng.
"Looks like someone picked the wrong fight."
Jiang Chao said with a laugh.
And he obviously wasn’t talking about the short guy.
Having spent so much time with Lin Feng recently, Cao Ming was perfectly in sync with him.
He grinned at the other two. "I saw Brother Feng signal me. This little guy isn’t going anywhere!"
Li Yang’s frantic escape path led him directly toward Cao Ming and his friends.
So if they decided to intercept him, Li Yang had zero chance of escape.
Hilariously, when Li Yang saw more people approaching, his eyes actually lit up.
He shouted at the three of them, "Someone’s attacking people here! Quick, go get school security!"
Li Yang knew he couldn’t beat Lin Feng.
He was a coward, and his upbringing had taught him that the safest thing to do in a situation like this was to get security involved immediately.
He was sure the school administration would take his side.
As this thought crossed his mind, a wave of relief washed over him.
He thought he had actually gotten away.
But to his surprise, the three guys he’d yelled to were looking at him with faint, strange smiles.
Their expressions were a bit eerie.
Before Li Yang could process what was happening, the three of them blocked his path.
And every one of them was grinning from ear to ear.
Cao Ming and Jiang Chao each grabbed one of his arms.
And just like that, they dragged the struggling Li Yang back to Lin Feng.
"Who are you people?"
"If you keep this up, I’ll scream!"
"Let go of me! You’ve got the wrong person! He’s the one who started it!"
Li Yang struggled desperately.
But his small frame was no match for the two men holding him.
Yang Qiniang smacked the short guy on the back of the head. "Alright, shut it. We didn’t make a mistake. We came for you."
The slap stunned Li Yang.
A second later, he heard the guy who’d hit him ask Lin Feng, "Brother Feng, we got him back for you. What do you want to do with him?"
Lin Feng grinned and jutted his chin toward a spot nearby.
The library was located at the very edge of the campus.
There were even a few residential buildings there.
The spot Lin Feng indicated happened to be a blind spot for the security cameras.
During a previous campus lockdown, some students had climbed the wall from this very spot to sneak out.
Jiang Chao and Cao Ming dragged Li Yang over there.
Li Yang started to panic. He’d never imagined things would turn out like this.
"What the hell are you doing? We live in a society with laws!"
Li Yang was in a full-blown panic.
Cao Ming, ever the troublemaker, pulled off one of his own socks.
Just like something out of a TV show, he stuffed the stinking sock into Li Yang’s mouth.
The stench was so overwhelming that Li Yang choked, unable to catch his breath, and nearly passed out.
In no time, they had dragged Li Yang into the dead-end alley.
Li Yang’s face was ashen, the stinking sock still crammed in his mouth.
He knew a beating was inevitable.
Lin Feng smiled, pressing Li Yang’s head against the wall. "Next time you’re out, try to keep your mouth clean."
With that said, Lin Feng gave a meaningful look.
Cao Ming and the others took the cue.
They immediately forced Li Yang to the ground and began laying into him with punches and kicks.
In a brief lull, Yang Qiniang asked Lin Feng, "Brother Feng, what did this guy do to piss you off?"
Su Ruoxi stood at the entrance of the alley, keeping watch.
She didn’t come any closer.
She knew full well that Li Yang wouldn’t be walking out of there unscathed.
And Lin Feng didn’t want her to witness the violence, either.
Lin Feng simply said, "The punk wanted Ruoxi’s contact info."
Lin Feng didn’t elaborate.
But the others weren’t stupid.
’So this piece of trash on the ground was really that clueless.’
Yang Qiniang landed a punch right on Li Yang’s face. "Well, well. Talk about a toad lusting after a swan."
"You’re delusional!"
Lin Feng stepped forward and added a casual kick of his own. Li Yang was already crumpled on the ground, unable to stand.
All four of them knew what they were doing, aiming for spots that would inflict maximum pain without leaving any visible marks.
After about ten minutes, Lin Feng dusted off his hands. "Consider this a small lesson. Make sure you learn from it."
Li Yang was sprawled on the ground, not even having the energy to cry out in pain.
As a rich kid who’d had a smooth ride his whole life, this was the first time he’d ever run into a brick wall.
In the past, whenever he got into trouble, his family would clean up the mess.
Or people wouldn’t dare touch him because of his family’s connections.
This was how he’d developed his arrogant and morally bankrupt personality, utterly clueless about how the world worked.
He’d never experienced this kind of suffering before.
Li Yang was on his hands and knees, a flicker of humiliation in his eyes.
But he now understood that these were people he couldn’t afford to mess with.
But he had only himself to blame for his insolence and for provoking someone he shouldn’t have.
Li Yang deserved it.
If he hadn’t met someone as tough as Lin Feng, Li Yang would have likely become even more outrageous.
A guy like that deserved a harsh dose of reality.
A smile playing on his lips, Lin Feng grabbed Li Yang by the hair and yanked his head up. "Remember this. Don’t you ever call yourself ’Laozi’ in front of me. Some people are just out of your league, you little coal heir. Understand?"
Every word from Lin Feng dripped with casual contempt.
But Li Yang couldn’t argue back. He could only swallow his pride and choke out, "I... I’ll remember!"
Lin Feng tossed him back to the ground, then turned and walked away with his friends.
Su Ruoxi was waiting at the mouth of the alley, a nervous expression on her face.
But when she saw Lin Feng emerge, her expression immediately relaxed.
"Brother Feng!"
Looking at Lin Feng now, Su Ruoxi’s eyes were filled with nothing but adoration and love.
The moment Lin Feng had appeared before her, Su Ruoxi had felt an overwhelming sense of security.
Lin Feng smiled and hugged Su Ruoxi. "Alright, problem solved. Let’s go back."
Yang Qiniang rushed forward and clapped Lin Feng on the shoulder. "Brother Feng, don’t just use us and toss us aside! The least you could do is buy us dinner!"
Lin Feng chuckled and sighed. "Let’s go. I wasn’t planning on ditching you guys!"
