"Can’t use subspace movement, then... space disruption!"
Summoning the Ancient Black Book, Feng Yuan looked at the narrow stone path ahead and said, wiping his hand across the book’s cover. Black mist enveloped Feng Yuan and Xiao Ji. Looking at the Flame Chasing Furry Dog, Feng Yuan said,
"I’ll need your help here. Only you can advance quickly, Veronia, come along, and you help guide the way. Big Cat... what’s your plan?"
The Big Cat made a few soft sounds to Feng Yuan, indicating that they could protect themselves. Feng Yuan hesitated slightly but didn’t attempt to persuade them; the Flame Chasing Furry Dog couldn’t carry that many Spirit Beasts on its back.
Veronia looked at Feng Yuan in confusion. Even for the Flame Chasing Furry Dog, this place could only be navigated slowly. The stone path was not spacious enough for it to run freely, and as for using subspace? During a time lockdown, all subspace movement methods are invalid.
A time lockdown itself means that this space is temporarily isolated; not only does time cease to flow, but even space temporarily becomes independent, and subspace cannot be unfolded, entered, or exited in such a special region.
"Let’s go!"
Seeing Veronia still dazed, Feng Yuan couldn’t help but shout. Veronia floated onto the Flame Chasing Furry Dog, surprised to find that as it landed on the dog’s head, the surroundings suddenly became much taller and larger.
No, it should be a change in size? But that’s not right; the Flame Chasing Furry Dog didn’t change its size...
Recalling Feng Yuan’s previous action, Veronia looked at Feng Yuan in amazement; never did it expect him to accomplish such a feat.
"You lead the way. Try to reach the explosion point as quickly as possible."
Feng Yuan couldn’t help but instruct Veronia. There was no choice; this place was obviously a labyrinth. Without Veronia to guide the way, even if the Flame Chasing Furry Dog ran fast, it would be futile; more time would clearly be wasted on finding the path.
"Hmm, understood."
"Agunas, come aboard!"
Transforming into a fiery wave, the Flame Chasing Furry Dog rushed forward. As they passed Agunas, Feng Yuan used a claw of black mist to grab it onto the Flame Chasing Furry Dog’s back.
Feng Yuan was so fast that Agunas didn’t have time to react. By the time it regained composure, it was already sitting on the Flame Chasing Furry Dog’s back, looking at the changing environment in confusion and asked Feng Yuan,
"What exactly are you doing? No, how are you accomplishing this?"
It could feel that the surrounding environment had become very peculiar. The Flame Chasing Furry Dog itself showed no sign of changing size, yet Feng Yuan obviously couldn’t have enlarged the surrounding space, as that would be too far-fetched.
"Chaos of surrounding space; disrupting spatial order, creating confusion."
With a sly smile, Feng Yuan explained. The Flame Chasing Furry Dog wasn’t made to change size because doing so would affect its advancing speed and also impose limitations on using ultimate moves.
What Feng Yuan was doing was disrupting the order of the originally orderly space, causing massive errors, akin to a game with program errors. Spatial dimensions became scrambled.
Feng Yuan didn’t expand the surrounding space; rather, the spatial order experienced major errors due to the disruptions, causing identical volumes to exhibit completely different appearances.
Agunas furrowed its brows; Feng Yuan’s method was risky as it might lead to serious trouble by heavily distorting and interfering with the spatial rules. If these rules were broken...
Nevertheless, it had to be admitted that Feng Yuan’s method was quite effective under a time lockdown; even Agunas couldn’t open space, let alone use other methods to travel.
If the Flame Chasing Furry Dog didn’t change size, it couldn’t run quickly in this narrow passage. Compared to the long-duration effects of widespread time lockdown, the gamble seemed worth taking.
The Flame Chasing Furry Dog occasionally used Flame Charge for acceleration. The Crystal Rose Vine extended by Veronia over more than two hours but reached by the Flame Chasing Furry Dog in just about twenty minutes. Looking at the spherical crystal constructs fixed ahead, Feng Yuan exclaimed,
"What a bizarre sight; seems rather round. Could it be some sort of ancient bomb?"
Without hesitation, it self-destructs, clearly not a regular thing. Jumping off the Flame Chasing Furry Dog, Feng Yuan summoned the black mist into his hand and it disappeared.
"It’s really fast."
Veronia turned to glance at the panting Flame Chasing Furry Dog. High-speed running was also physically demanding for it, not to mention that it had been sprinting at maximum speed, using ultimate moves repeatedly for acceleration. Its average speed didn’t fall behind the descent from the top of Molan Giant Pit to the bottom.
Moreover, it had been carrying Feng Yuan and his companions, which, though not heavy individually, was still a considerable burden for the Flame Chasing Furry Dog.
"You rest first, we’ll handle the troublesome ones."
Feng Yuan didn’t intend for the Flame Chasing Furry Dog to tackle these self-destructing foes, not only because the dog was already exhausted but also due to the likelihood that its fire attribute ultimate moves would exacerbate the explosion.
"Non-life special constructs—attacks targeting souls and withering-type tactics will be ineffective. Simple brute-force destruction may trigger its explosion, so..."
Exchanging glances with Agunas, it understood Feng Yuan’s intention. With a sweep of Little Claw, the Time River’s phantom emerged, and as Agunas lifted the broad time lockdown, the spherical crystal constructs resumed action.
Their arrival ignored by these constructs, which continued self-destructing against the Crystal Tendrils. Nonetheless, Feng Yuan and his companions didn’t give these crystal constructs the opportunity.
"Attack!"
With a swift swing of the Ancient Black Book toward the front, black mist, carried by the wind, smashed into the rapidly accumulating energy of the crystal spheres. The black mist, like a blade, cut across their smooth, glimmering shells.
In an instant, those crystal spheres that were touched by the black mist dimmed and fell onto the rocky ground.
With a sweep of Little Claw, delicate Seven-Colored Sand was blown by the breeze toward the newly arriving crystal spheres. In a moment, they were covered in time-worn blemishes and began to sandify, disappearing in the wind.
"Really, doesn’t give me room to act."
Veronia huffed lightly as Tamur gently swung his body, his tail snapping like Mythical Era’s chains toward the remaining crystal spheres.
Upon hitting the first sphere, the chain split into several chains of equal size, shooting toward nearby targets. Within moments, the text chains connected to a large group of incoming crystal spheres.
With a slight sway, starting from Tamur’s position, the text chains swiftly disappeared, and the linked spheres vanished from this space without resistance.
"Is that, world-level erasure?"
Veonria looked curiously at Tamur, wondering what kind of ultimate move this was. Its power was sizable, maybe even exceeding norms.
"Just drawn into an era projection."
Glancing at Veronia, Tamur replied lightly. It didn’t possess the authority to directly erase a large number of targets from the real world.
But it could pull those beings into the projection of the Mythical Era, which generally serves as a temporary binding. The era projection’s captive capabilities have limits; it can’t keep enemies trapped forever, especially as their power grows, they break free quicker.
Alas, these crystal constructs were different—they had one purpose, self-destruction. Tamur wasn’t worried about them escaping the constraints of the Mythical Era Projection, or rather, they probably all exploded inside it.
The projection itself is a mere mirror image; such small-scale self-destruction can’t cause damage, and Tamur didn’t worry this would harm him.
Xiao Ji reacted the slowest; it only realized it should act after Tamur had destroyed a wave of crystal spheres. With cries, it charged forward.
However, its Netherworld Wind ultimate move proved ineffective against these crystal constructs. In essence, these were akin to robots, with Death Series and Ghost Series moves mostly targeting souls. Naturally, they had minimal impact.
Fortunately, Xiao Ji adjusted tactics swiftly, using Wind of Decay. Although not as efficient as Feng Yuan’s group, it still inflicted considerable damage on the crystal spheres.
As the unending crystal spheres were wiped out by the teamwork of Feng Yuan and company, Feng Yuan looked at the debris scattered around in frustration and said,
"Why are there so many of these things?"
