Feng Yuan waited on the ship for about an hour before the whistle of departure sounded. As the staff completed their checks, the cruise slowly began to leave the dock.
There were over twenty guests who, like Feng Yuan, received invitations. The ship’s nearly a thousand staff members were all there to serve them. Feng Yuan didn’t particularly mind, but some people always felt uneasy about it. To them, isn’t this a bit... extravagant?
They didn’t dare to think of more serious words. After all, they themselves were enjoying the experience, so they wouldn’t speak ill of themselves, though they still felt somewhat guilty.
Feng Yuan didn’t have that kind of feeling; it wasn’t something he requested. Since it was a gift from someone else, he was too lazy to worry about its appropriateness. As soon as the ship started, Feng Yuan ran to the underwater passage.
There were other people there besides him, or rather, they all knew the uniqueness of this place, which was why they came here as the ship set sail.
After all, a design like this was not commonly seen, especially since it was a river cruise, unlike the view of the sea bottom.
"It seems like those fish are attracted over here. Could it be that they did something to the hull of the ship?"
Watching the fish swim by, Feng Yuan said with some amazement, as sunlight spilled across the river surface, illuminating the underwater scenery. The Mao Mu River water was clear enough to barely see the small fish swimming alongside the ship.
And so, it was precisely this that made people curious as to why these fish would follow the ship, given it didn’t completely match their living habits.
"Obviously not very likely. Doing so would be incredibly costly. But relatively speaking, using a Spirit Beast’s ultimate skill is simple, convenient, and efficient."
Veronia happened to know how it worked. After all, the fluctuations from the ultimate skill never ceased, making it difficult not to notice even if one wanted to remain unaware.
This type of ultimate skill was closer to a lifestyle ability, and its concealment was not comparable to that used for battle.
No one really researches making the energy fluctuations of lifestyle ultimate skills concealed and indiscernible, as that’s utterly pointless.
"Using a Spirit Beast’s ultimate skill to attract fish is indeed quite simple, but... wouldn’t this require someone to oversee it? They’re really..."
Recalling the origins of the cruise, Feng Yuan chuckled as he spoke. If it were a regular cruise ship, they definitely wouldn’t do this, as the investment far exceeds the return. But with Maomu City officials, it might be different since their needs aren’t entirely in alignment.
"As long as it looks good, why worry so much about it."
Veronia seemed indifferently unimpressed. During the Mythical Era, she had engaged in far more extravagant activities, and viewed the cruise ship as somewhat child’s play.
"You’re right. Just enjoy it and don’t bother with too much."
Feng Yuan chuckled, the ship moving slowly forward, the riverbed’s scenery constantly changing as the cruise advanced. Compared to the seabed, the scenery in Mao Mu River appeared much more monotonous. Therefore, Feng Yuan only watched for a while before leaving with Xiao Ji.
Although the underwater passage was uniquely designed, environmental limitations were unavoidable. At least, Feng Yuan believed he could have stayed longer if it had been an ocean view.
On the cruise, there were dedicated staff organizing various small activities. Yet relatively speaking, this ship had very limited space compared to genuine luxury cruises, despite efforts to make changes.
Thankfully, guests on this cruise didn’t mind at all. They were mostly there to relax, after all, the war had lasted so long, causing various inevitable impacts on them.
"Ah~ the breeze on the deck is comfortable. Judging by the surroundings, it seems Maomu City here suffered relatively less impact."
At this moment, the ship had sailed out of the city range, surrounded more by natural primitive landscapes. Precisely because of this, those sceneries weren’t artificially arranged, appearing natural but inevitably stark.
Of course, this was from the perspective of ordinary tourists. For Feng Yuan and the others, the riverside sceneries were tolerable even though not stunning, considering it was a free cruise, without their own spending, and the service was adequate, other details didn’t matter much.
"Since it’s not a strategic location, several battles occurred due to other reasons. Certainly, compared to those cities that vanished, it’s indeed more fortunate."
As Veronia gazed at the riverside scenes, she sighed. Though Maomu City attracted imperial attention due to Feng Yuan, compared to those cities which vanished silently, Maomu City was indeed more fortunate.
Those cities were not strategic locations either but completely disappeared in the Empire’s indiscriminate attacks, essentially due to their lack of strength.
Feng Yuan’s existence made Maomu City conspicuous, but precisely because of him, the city’s military strength cap was high, and several attacks from the Empire failed to cause greater damage.
This is also why nobody blamed Feng Yuan for bringing trouble because they all knew that even without him, things might not be much better, maybe even worse.
"That’s also true, but by repeatedly rolling the dice, trouble will inevitably arise."
Feng Yuan sighed helplessly. The Imperial Timeline’s war seemed temporarily concluded in his view. At least those people no longer had the extra energy to stir up trouble in the Main World.
What remained were wars and the Qi Realm Timeline. War, of course, had no doubts — it was destined to happen; only the Qi Realm...
It wasn’t that Feng Yuan doubted them. Rather, he worried that upon actively invading the Qi Realm Timeline, they may be blocked or thereby trigger a series of issues because Qi Realm was just too eerie.
He truly couldn’t say for sure who would win if Main World humans faced them.
"Wars are inherently unstoppable. With preparations in place, what you mentioned shouldn’t happen. Especially now with so many Legendary Level Beastmasters."
Veronia chuckled lightly as she responded, while Feng Yuan shook his head in resignation, leaning on the railing looking at the river, saying
"It’s never that simple. Most of these Legendary Level Beastmasters became such too quickly, completing their power is difficult. Resources are limited, and what if the new enemies sync with this power level?"
"Do you think that’s possible?"
"Seems unlikely; synchronizing would exceed the limits of the time branch."
With Veronia saying so, Feng Yuan realized perhaps there’s nothing to worry about for the future.
The growing number of Legendary Level Beastmasters made defending cities relatively issue-free. As long as they didn’t constantly think about venturing out, incidents like the Empire’s recent sneak attack would be hard to repeat.
Even Anti-Divine Beast Runes would still be blocked by numerous Legendary Level Beastmasters, let alone the powers related to Crystal Domain unlocked by rising strengths.
Whether it’s Domain Awakening or other aspects, they can only be wielded with certain power. Naturally, having conditions means effects are generally quite good.
Even with resource shortage, considering Heart Controlling Spirit isn’t impossible, even though upgrades are little, at the very least it’s a direction without resource consumption.
Perhaps the only hassle is the lack of sufficient resources for Legendary Level Beastmaster cultivation, which admittedly has no solution.
"Haha, what are you guys discussing? Relax! It’s a rare day of rest. Let’s not talk about serious matters. Only after fully resting can we face new challenges with full energy the next day~"
At this moment, Zhou Weijun came laughing, saying to Feng Yuan, holding a wine glass. Feng Yuan smiled back and said
"You’re indeed laid-back, though it’s not really discussing serious matters, merely future concerns. Plus, not sure if the United Army can resist initiating war."
"War Timeline, huh? They clearly intend for a battle with us. It’s not something we alone can decide if to fight. Though, once this battle ends, they should settle down. With the Empire gone, war... I believe with Ascension Stone, defeating them shouldn’t be a problem."
Zhou Weijun thought aloud, expressing his views, which mirrored most opinions in Great Xia. Feng Yuan sighed peering at the river, saying
"If it truly were that simple, it’d be great. I just fear they’d arrogantly challenge the Qi Realm Timeline. That’s the real trouble. Although they lack cross-time-line ability, but..."
Feng Yuan shook his head wistfully, aware it’s too far-removed, worrying needlessly was pointless now. Zhou Weijun heard this and looked curiously at Feng Yuan, asking
"Qi Realm Timeline? What’s that?"
