Qiu Hanmo did not explain himself, nor did anyone know whether he truly didn’t understand or simply didn’t want to speak. But everyone understood that if Qiu Hanmo didn’t intend to open his mouth, no one could compel him to reveal the truth. Forceful questioning would merely yield a false answer.
The unexpected good food in this shop was quite surprising. Initially, Feng Yuan didn’t hold much hope, considering the proprietor was an eccentric character. Feng Yuan even thought if those things were simply edible, it would be fine. Yet, the result turned out quite good.
Although there was still a considerable gap compared to Jufu Tower, that was understandable. After all, others specialize in this, and if this shop could surpass Jufu Tower, Feng Yuan would be skeptical about what the proprietor really intended to do.
"The taste is quite good, better than I imagined."
After finishing lunch and setting down his chopsticks, Feng Yuan chuckled and said, Qiu Hanmo smiled and replied
"As long as you like it."
"It’s alright, by the way, are you planning to prepare weapons next?"
Since Qi Chen and the others were going to venture to The Imperial Timeline, Feng Yuan didn’t think they had the mood for leisurely relaxation, this operation was far from safe.
"I plan to apply for some special weapons from the official authorities, preferably ones that we can put to good use."
Yang Hongzhi chuckled and said, already having planned for this, yet upon hearing his words, Feng Yuan furrowed his brow and said
"Simply put, it’s the kind that allows Beastmasters to also possess considerable combat power? Such things are likely unavailable in Maomu City, if truly in need, it seems we need to get them from the Mythological Remnants."
If such items really existed, Feng Yuan believed they would have been employed during the war. Since they had not been seen, they probably didn’t exist, which was normal as the mainstream focuses on Beastmasters, weaponry based on humanity isn’t entirely unresearched; just not significantly invested.
In contrast, the Mythological Remnants are quite adept in this field. After all, during the era they lived in, Beastmasters were not a presence they could approach, weaponry was fundamental in their resistance against Divine Beings.
"Uh, is that really necessary?"
Yang Hongzhi was somewhat startled, the weapons of Mythological Remnants seemed extravagant to him, as they exhibited tremendous power when deployed, challenging even Legendary and Legendary Level beasts, perhaps even resisting the Anti-Divine Beast Rune like during that event at Kui Shan Town.
"If it’s about weapons, I believe those are most suitable. If necessary, I can help you borrow them, but not those particularly special weapons, non-portable ones, or those involving special rules are not feasible."
Feng Yuan said, stroking his chin
"That is, those weapons that can confront Divine Beasts, cannot be borrowed."
He has no doubt that the current Mythological Remnants still retain those weapons, considering they are remnants of their trump card, and the reason Feng Yuan says such is not because he cannot borrow them, but because he shouldn’t.
In the Mythical Era, those were employed against Divine Beings and Divine Beasts, placing them in the modern age is inappropriate. At least presently, Divine Beasts maintain balance and for the most part act within bounds; bringing those out is an opportunity for the ambitious.
Feng Yuan does not believe those individuals would forsake this tempting asset to avoid civil war, at which point Yang Hongzhi and his group couldn’t possibly guard those weapons, potentially leading to danger.
"We wouldn’t dare wield such weapons, would we?"
Rolling his eyes, Yang Hongzhi stated in dismay, because of Feng Yuan, he was privy to the matter of Mythological Remnants, thus well-aware of the frightening apex of their weapons.
Such apex-weapons, even if handed to him, he wouldn’t dare wield; they are terrifying objects capable of openly challenging Divine Beasts.
"So, isn’t that solved? Apart from the special weapons that can’t be provided, the rest are not inferior to what the official can offer in terms of effectiveness?"
"But..."
Gazing at everyone, seeing Qi Chen and others hesitating, Feng Yuan rubbed his forehead
"You are about to engage the Imperial People, at this time, don’t consider ethics too much, first ensure your survival, let alone the Divine Beasts. Were it not for directly destroying The Imperial Timeline not aligning with their interests, Agunas might have already dismantled it."
Divine Beasts are generally deemed reliable by humans, or rather, due to minimal interest conflicts with humanity, they serve as a model and reference.
Upon hearing Feng Yuan’s words, Qi Chen recalled what Agunas had said in the past, perhaps it was actually right?
Of course, that was back then, now with the appearance of the Ascension Stone, humans wouldn’t permit Divine Beasts to dismantle this Time Branch.
"You have a point... but..."
Yang Hongzhi was still conflicted, it’s not that Mythological Remnants’ items aren’t formidable, but they’re excessively formidable. Subconsciously, he felt those things shouldn’t be in his hands.
However, Feng Yuan made valid points that their fighting the Imperial People face-to-face meant Mythological Remnants’ weapons were indeed better.
Amidst their silence, suddenly downstairs came the shopkeeper’s shout
"Who are you! What do you want!"
"What’s going on?"
The shout broke everyone’s contemplation, exchanging glances, Feng Yuan spoke as he ran to the window, unfortunately, this private room’s window faced the back of the shop while the commotion occurred at the front.
"Fighting here? It’s probably not a misunderstanding."
Qiu Hanmo listened to the sound of ultimate moves clashing, indifferent expression unchanged, he swiftly stood up; whether due to relations with the shopkeeper or other reasons, he needed to see what’s happening.
Feng Yuan was the first to dash downstairs, Xiao Ji hurried behind, the Flame Chasing Furry Dog glanced at the food in its bowl, flicked its tail, not moving; anyway... it didn’t need its power~
"I’m looking for someone, not seeking a fight, so, please step aside."
Among the logs, a man spoke coldly, the shopkeeper directed his Beast Tamer to release a Shadow Spirit Ball, responding coldly
"Do you think I’d believe your rhetoric? The air about you is different from ours; perhaps you mean to pull something off."
"Heh, you certainly connect dots well, I have no inclination for such matters. I know them, you’ll naturally ascertain truth upon notifying them, why be so confrontational."
"Deploying a decoy, don’t think of tricking me."
Saying lightly, the Shadow Spirit Ball beside the shopkeeper vanished while speaking, scoffing softly, the man said
"Seems a fight is inevitable, very well, I trust they will understand."
"Endless Forest! Flourishing Tianhua! Fall!"
As he issued the command, trees rose, the sky scattered emerald light, under which dense forest variations such as wildflowers grew rapidly.
City streets instantaneously transformed into deep mountain wilderness, amid the pinnacle of growth, a gust swept past, shifting the forest from thriving to decline, releasing decaying aura trying to drag every life form into desolate lands.
"Xiao Ji, break the environment with your ultimate!"
Having just stepped out and witnessed this scene, Feng Yuan hastily commanded, Xiao Ji reverted to its original size, emitted a loud cry, flapped its wings, black electric currents cut through space, the deteriorating forest seemed frozen in time, then shattered as though a glass sculpture.
"Eh? Qi Chen? Bai You? Why are you here?"
Following the forest’s collapse, the ones obscured emerged in Feng Yuan’s view, recognizing the opponent, Feng Yuan exclaimed in surprise, truly not expecting to encounter War Qi Chen, or perhaps the other party specifically came looking for him?
Glancing at the shopkeeper, War Qi Chen stopped his Beast Tamer about to continue its actions and said
"I came to find you, hoping to discuss strategies."
"They are not from this world; don’t easily believe their words."
The shopkeeper warily eyed War Qi Chen without taking further action because Feng Yuan was present, and it seemed they indeed knew each other.
Nevertheless, he didn’t trust War Qi Chen, considering that people not from this world were inherently untrustworthy.
"Heh, I know, we’re acquaintances, relatively trustable."
Chuckling, Feng Yuan didn’t intend to change the other’s view; the shopkeeper’s skepticism was occupational, and he wasn’t going to bother changing it.
"What you wish to discuss should be about the possibility of peaceful coexistence between both sides, right?"
Suspiciously glancing at Feng Yuan, the shopkeeper didn’t believe such nonsense, given the various actions of The Imperial Timeline, is peace even possible?
"Exactly so, originally I thought the biggest difficulty was convincing our East Continent Great Xia to agree to such a plan, but now..."
"Ah, the Ascension Stone, in some sense this thing is indeed the root of calamity; though if possible, I wouldn’t mind helping, actually, if possible, I also wish for alternate resolutions, war, inevitably causes death..."
"Fighting for showcasing dominance is unavoidable, yet unrestricted warfare outside of this... personally, I dislike it."
With a resigned smile, Feng Yuan spoke and looked towards Veronia.
